About Softonic

Softonic people

At Softonic we strive to retain the trust that millions of users place in us every day. Thanks to them, we are the leading software download site in Europe and Latin America and one of the world's top websites in this category.

Our Origins:

The concept behind Softonic was created in July 1997 as Tomás Diago's final degree project. Initially named Shareware Intercom, and developed at Intercom Online, one of Spain's leading Internet providers at that time.

Then, in 2000, Tomás launched Softonic, transforming that same final degree project into an independent company.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to help people discover and enjoy software to enhance their lives.

To do so, we offer a vast catalog that includes hundreds of thousands of programs. All our software is categorized, rated and reviewed by a local team of expert editors who provide content in ten languages to users of Windows, Mac, WebApps and mobile platforms.

Our Values:

Our strength lies in our values, which are based on credibility, team spirit, personal responsibility, drive to improve, and the fact that we believe in and respect people.
