“The Christmas spirit on your desktop”

MacLampsX allows you to fully decorate your Mac's desktop to seriously get into the Christmas mood.

Add the light bulbs around your screen, set a themed wallpaper and screensaver and you're all set to celebrate the holidays. MacLampsX gives you a choice of 40 different light bulbs , most of them based on the Christmas theme, but also including more original decorations like chilis or jack o lanterns . You can also adjust the speed of the light bulb flashes and whether they appear over or under folders and application windows. Make sure you also set the bulb opacity so the lights don't shine too bright.

MacLampsX lets you choose from a collection of themes but you can also create and save your own by mixing and matching different decorations. Being able to customize your Christmas lights makes MacLampsX stand out from the rest of the Mac Christmas apps as you can really decorate your screen the way you want it to be. It would be great if the app could be a prefpane item though, as it would launch faster and be easier to reach in Mac Preferences.

MacLampsX strings rows of Christmas tree bulbs around the edges of your screen, with festive music playing in the background. It even includes a screen saver with gently falling snow and other seasonal choices to put you in the holiday spirit.

You create the bulb patterns around the edges of your screen by simply clicking and dragging bulbs in the Holiday Lights Bulb Factory, as shown in the picture to the right.
