I've always found viewing, managing and sorting files on a Palm something of a tedious and cumbersome process. We've all grown accustomed to using Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder to browse files, and small screen operating systems rarely make it as easy.

Resco Explorer changes all that though, providing an altogether more powerful and effective solution to the default Palm file browser. Uninstall Manager, the most full featured uninstaller available for the Palm OS, saves valuable memory (RAM and Card) space while keeping your device clean and trouble-free.

When you launch applications, from the built-in memory or the Expansion Card, they save data onto your device; this data is used by the application when active, and normally, will be deleted when you delete the application itself.
Applications, in general, use their Creator ID (a unique identifier that has to be registered with Palm) to tag the data they save onto your handheld.
When you delete applications, the system deletes all items that share the application's Creator ID - However, some applications (intentionally or due to a programming error) save items under a different Creator ID than their own; these items will remain on your device, occupying your precious handheld memory for good.

• When using Uninstall Manager to remove applications, they will be completely deleted, including items saved under a different Creator ID

Uninstall Manager includes many unique features to help you stay on top of your software installations:

LinkStart is an application manager. It allows you to move applications to expansion cards and run them transparently as if they were on the device. It may take a little longer for application to start from the card, depending on the size of application and its data, but you save precious RAM space!

Linkstart takes a different approach to the options available in some newer Palm OS versions. It creates a small link application that looks exactly like the original one in the launcher and can be treated as the original application. When this link is launched it loads the original application from card, launches it, waits till it quits, and saves application data back to card.

ForceDelete is used for deleting files in RAM (or Program Memory) that cannot be normally deleted because they are in use. It does this by scheduling them to be deleted on reset and then by performing that reset.

ForceDelete is a control panel so you need to open the Palm Prefs application to access it.

Use at your own risk. ForceDelete can be used to delete important system files. This could cause a hard reset or destroy your device.

BEIKS FIND is a replacement of the global search application you use to find emails, contacts and other information in your Palm. It works around a significant limitation of the built-in search and adds the extra feature of remembering the latest performed searches.

How is your current search limited? If you happen to remember the final or a middle portion of a phone that you know you stored in your device, and you use the standard "Find" program you will not get what you are looking for, even if the number is really there. For example, if you look for "456" in "18004562343" you will not find it.
