PXA Clocker 4.5-Overclock Intel PXA processor based Palm devices

http://pxa-clocker.en.softonic.com/palm

PXA Clocker is an application that allows you to change system frequency for Palm OS5-driven PDAs that use Intel PXA processors. The list of supported devices includes Sony Clie, PalmOne Zire 72, Zire 31, Tungsten C, T3, T5, E2 and LifeDrive devices.

PXA Clocker was debuted in August 2003 as proof of concept application to demonstrate how to change system frequencies for PXA-based devices. It was the first clock management application for Intel PXA processors. PXA Clocker 1.0 worked with Sony Clie devices. A couple of months later we added support for Palm Tungsten platform. Again, before anyone else. Later we added support for PXA270 processors. Guess what? We did it first again!

PXA Clocker allows you to either increase system frequency (up to 230% on some models), boosting performance of complex applications or decrease system frequency to a minimum available setting of 100MHz, allowing you to preserve precious battery power.

Additionally, PXA Clocker has an ability to turn off clock frequencies for unused peripherals, which also extends battery life.

All settings can be changed either globally or per-application. PXA Clocker includes support for applications on memory cards, and for shortcut management applications, such as PowerRun.

Download PXA Clocker 4.5 in Softonic

DeluxeWare Weather 1.00-Download and view weather forecasts for your area

http://deluxeware-weather.en.softonic.com/palm

At this time of year the weather can be pretty unpredictable. Only last week I put on my shorts before I headed out into the morning sunshine only for it to start snowing four hours later.

If only I'd had DeluxeWare Weather installed on my Palm. This smart application can download weather forecasts and display up-to-the-minute weather information on your PDA, meaning you never have to get caught short (or in your shorts) again.

You'll need a Net connection on your Palm, of course, but as long as you're connected it's pretty simple to set up the software and you get all sorts of options for choosing which area or World city you're in, what type of information you want to view, and how the weather is likely to change in the next few days.

What I liked about DeluxeWare Weather was the excellent way the forecasts are presented. The app makes great use of graphics to indicate sun, rain, snow, clouds etc. and there's even a wind gauge that shows you which direction it's blowing in. The program provides comprehensive weather information, including everything from the sun's UV index to dew point, humidity and visibility. I missed the inclusion of a pollen count meter though.

One of the few bad things about Weather is that the range of cities you can choose from is pretty limited and you may end up having to select one that's hundreds of miles away from where you actually are.

On the whole though, this is a comprehensive weather information provider that delivers complete forecasts to you wherever you go.

Download DeluxeWare Weather 1.00 in Softonic

Light Utilities-Add a range of lighting effects to your Palm

http://light-utilities.en.softonic.com/palm

Mobile devices make great nightlights, as anyone needing to go to the toilet in the middle of the night on a camping trip will testify. In fact, some software developers have now started building apps spefically designed around the lighting capabilities.

Light Utilities, for instance, provides you with a range of lighting effects designed to be both practical and fun. You basically get three different lights - 'Strobe', 'Party' and 'Nightlight', and each has its own unique attributes.

The strobe option displays very rapid bursts of bright light continuously. It's fun to play around with in the dark but ultimately serves no purpose, and could be damaging to anyone who suffers from epilepsy.

Likewise the 'Party' mode isn't particularly useful for anything, except for enducing headaches. This time, the screen flashes a series of different colours then lots of different coloured lines cross each other in a psychedelic fashion.

The only seriously practial tool within Light Utilities is the nightlight, which provides you with a full beam on your phone for walking around in the dark.

Beware though, because leave it on too long and it will quickly suck up your battery.
The nightlight is quite practical and the other two light functions are fun for a couple of minutes, but ultimately pointless.

Download Light Utilities in Softonic

http://send-to-application.en.softonic.com/palm

At first, the premise of this software may seem a little pointless - a program that allows an application to send data to itself. On closer inspection, however, Send to Application actually serves a number of useful purposes not currently available in the Palm OS.

In fact, if you're someone who switches information between different devices and external memory on a regular basis then you should find it drastically improves your productivity.

Basically, the program adds a new feature to your options menu entitled 'Send to Application'. From here you can request any file to be exported for a particular app.

There are a number of useful tasks you can perform by using this function, such as installing ringtones by sending *. mid or *. amr files to "Sounds" applications, importing photos into Media, and reading text files in Memo.

If you want to be able to share data with different applications or duplicate information to be used in another way, then Send to Application proves very useful.

Download Send to Application 1.0 in Softonic

I don't know about you, but I've got loads of duplicate contacts on my Palm and I've been waiting for a software solution that can help me quickly get rid of them.

Well, it looks like I've just found it in the shape of the free TealScan.
The application helps you keep your Palm device free of garbage and check up on a number of different memory status indicators from one clear viewer.

The program is a doddle to use and comes with a number of great features, although its functionality is still limited due to the fact that it's still in alpha release.

There's still plenty of functionality in here though and TealScan includes all the tools you need to locate and eliminate duplicate PIM records in the memory.

The program also displays, in a single window, the level of battery charge, available free memory, the status of the memory card installed on your device, and also the level of coverage.

Granted, these options are already available on the Palm OS, but by centralising them all, TealScan makes it easier to check them at-a-glance.

It's far from being a polished product at the moment, but if you're looking for a quick way to manage duplicate contacts and view memory status, it does the job pretty well.

Download TealScan 1.10 in Softonic
