This Windows Mobile game sees you play Blackjack against the clock, charging you with the task of getting as many '21s' as you can within a given time limit. Points in EdgeWay Turbo 21 are awarded for making Blackjack (a picture card and an Ace), a Trik5 (21 with 5 cards), or 21 in any other way. EdgeWay Turbo 21 may not score highly for its presentation but it's certainly an addictive and challenging game that will have you coming back time and again to try and reach the next stage. Pool is one of those games that you think you're going to be really good at until you step up to the table and realize that it's actually much tougher than it looks.

For those of you not aware of him, Omar Sharif used to be a famous film star. Then he got bored of that and took up Bridge. When he was fed up with that he decided to lend his name to a popular series of Bridge PC games. I don't know what he's up to now. Perhaps he's making a new film about forging a successful Bridge playing career.

Anyway, thanks to Omar you can now play Bridge wherever you go even if you don't have any cards or anyone to play with. This Pocket PC version of the Omar Sharif Bridge game sees you pit your strategic skills against a computer opponent in order to win cash (not real cash, obviously).

For those of you familiar with Bridge, it supports ACOL and Standard bidding systems and works with five card majors, strong two clubs, weak 1NT, Jacoby transfers and 2NT 11-12 points conventions. If all this means nothing to you then I suggest you go and learn online before you play, because sadly, there isn't much of a help system in the game, other than in-game hints.

If you're a bit of a Bridge fanatic though, you'll love Omar Sharif Bridge. What I loved about it was its combination of clear presentation and its wealth of game options. Not only can you completely customize the cards and the game set-up, you can also tweak the bidding conventions depending on the rules that you're used to.

Although the card graphics are rather small, they're still clear enough, and the inclusion of sound effects adds to the game's overall appeal.

The game of Reversi (or Othello, as it's often known) is a real board game classic and is up there with the likes of chess and draughts in terms of tactical challenges.

I've never been a huge fan of Reversi, partly because I've never really understood the rules. I felt that KSE Reversi didn't really help with that, because the Help text is poorly written and confusing. What's more, you don't get any in-game hints that suggest possible moves and might help you understand a bit better.

If you are already versed in the game though, you should find KSE Reversi an enjoyable challenge. There are four difficulty levels and the computer opponent has a strong AI, meaning that this one will test all of your powers. You'll have to make do with playing the Pocket PC though, because there's no two player mode in this one.

Graphically, the game isn't particularly impressive. You basically just get a top-down view with green and white playing pieces and there's no way of customizing the game board.

If you're a hardcore Reversi fan then you'll enjoy the simple, no-nonsense control system, but the poor help system and drab presentation may put off newcomers.

If you're ever looking for me on a Saturday night, there's a good chance you'll find me cruising the tables of my local pool hall. Now it's not just Saturdays that I'll be chalking up since I became acquainted with the wonders of Pool Challenge.

The game represents one of the most realistic mobile simulations of the game I've ever seen. In fact it's as smartly turned-out as even the most well-kept baizes of the World Championships. From the opening video montage through to the pixel-perfect ball shadows and intelligent physics, you'll be blown away by the visuals of this one.

Luckily, Pool Challenge is good fun to play, too. The Pocket PC version turns your stylus into a miniature pool cue which controls both the angle and the power of each shot. At first this control system is a little tricky to get used to such is its sensitivity, and I was forever over-hitting shots or even hitting the ball when I didn't want to.

There are two game modes to choose from: 8-ball or 9-ball pool, and you can plump for one or two-player options. There are quite a few game settings to tinker with as well, such as CPU opponent difficulty, table friction, and music volume. The latter of these is most welcome, since the in-game soundtrack is soundtrack is pretty unbearable.

If you're potty about potting then you certainly won't be disappointed by Pool Challenge.

UNO Classic 2007 is a fun version of the popular card game for mobile phones. There's one simple objective - get rid of all your cards and shout out UNO!

If you don't know how to play it's fairly simple and this version offers a comprehensive explanation of the rules and instructions. We used to play a slightly different version with a rude word when I was younger. You lay down cards, change the direction of the game, skip to the next player and change the selection of the cards being placed down.

It's fast and fun and you can change the settings depending on the number of virtual players you want to compete against and the character you wish to choose. You can also adjust the music and sound settings. You can have it on vibrate to remind you when it's your go which is much more pleasant, especially when playing more than one game. There is a variety of different rooms and tables to keep things interesting.

In terms of its presentation UNO Classic is impeccable and the many different characters and scenes you can choose from are all bright and colorful. It's pretty addictive too, and the addition of a 'House Rules' mode only adds to its longevity.

I love nothing more than a few hands of the ultra-competitive big-spending

Dominoes is a game, that I suddenly realised when I played this version, I have no understanding of whatsoever. It's always been a very simple game for me. Just match the numbers until you have no more playing pieces and hope you're empty-handed before your opponent. Oh, how wrong I was. It appears there is a whole new world of dominoes that I never knew about. And this mobile version allows you to explore it with a combination of good gameplay and helpful advice.

You can play against the computer or in two-player mode with four levels of difficulty, from nice and easy to extremely tough. The computer plays at a fast pace no matter what level you choose so you're never waiting tiresomely for the next move.

The automatic score keeps count on the screen which can be encouraging or off-putting depending on how you're doing and if you need a perfect environment to reach your dominoes pinnacle then change the background to an aesthetically pleasing display.

Solitaire is a great game for those long train journeys home and Yukon is a version for the purists. The layout and graphics are exactly as you would expect and the game works in the same way as nearly every version you will have played on your PC. Drag and drop your cards into the correct rows, take the Aces to the spaces available at the top of the screen, deal again when you can't make a move and try and get rid of all the cards on the screen.

This edition comes in five game types - Classic, Kings, One Suit, Spider and Web, the main difference being how you build your cards up.
