This simple application displays a message box when charging was completed for Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone. Since this equipment does not have any indication whether charging completed or not, the developer decided to write this program.

PocketCM Keyboard offers a virtual keyboard for Apple lovers, well it's in the style of an Apple iPhone anyway. It makes typing extremely easy and has two great design features that make it a really great piece of software to use. First of all, the keyboard works in the opposite way to a normal computer keyboard. Instead of selecting a key when you press it, PocketCM Keyboard waits for you to take your finger off the key before using the letter. This can prove a bit tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it means you can slide your finger around the screen very quickly.

Also the software predicts what you are going to write but in a way that is different to other predictive text features. If you are writing a word it begins to recognise, it will not only start to give you the 'quick selection' option it will also prevent you from making mistakes by purposely not choosing your letter. It does this by reading whereabouts on the keyboard your finger is and automatically choosing a more accurate letter for the word you are spelling. Again, clever, and again it takes some time to get used to. Most people either like or hate predictive text features. I like them and this one works well. Plus it's something new and the design is great.

Most of us could do with a screen capture tool in our lives, as they allow you to record what's going on on your computer, making it easy to explain to friends, tech support guys or even to yourself in the future.

But what do you do if you want to snap what's happening on your Windows Mobile screen? Well, you simply install a program such as HauteCapture. Let me point out first that I don't tolerate lame puns in software names, but I'll forgive this one as the software proves to be pretty functional.

The app is a breeze to set up. You just need to install it on your PC and connect your device up using ActiveSync. HauteCapture then quickly detects the handset and installs some software components onto it.

Once the program is all linked up and running it's pretty easy to use. You simply hit the 'Capture' button and it will take a grab of whatever is on your mobile screen and display it in the main window. You can then commit this to your PC by choosing 'Save' from the toolbar.

I also liked the 'Live' mode in the program, which displays exactly what you're doing in Windows Mobile inside HauteCapture's main window, changing as you use your mobile. Again, you can record any screen by clicking 'Capture'. Your captures can then be viewed either in full-screen or thumbnail view.

Unfortunately that's about as far as HauteCapture goes. There are no editing features for cropping or polishing your grabs and the program settings are quite limited. In fact the only thing you can really change is the file format to save to, and even then, there are only four choices. What's more, I found the program ran a little slowly, especially in Live mode and this can quickly become annoying.

However, if you want a simple, no-nonsense way of capturing screens from your mobile, HauteCapture does the job effectively.

It used to be the case that only scientific types with huge glasses and lab coats would ever develop computer applications. These days though, more and more of us are getting into development in a big way.

This has largely been due to the increased availability of easy-to-use development tools. Now you can even create apps and databases on your mobile device or phone thanks to software such as MortScript. This program differs a little from many of its peers in that its focus is more on remote control or launching other applications rather than developing new ones from scratch.

If you're new to coding then I wouldn't bother with this one because the application doesn't have much in the way of a GUI. As a result, you don't get any help creating scripts, rather than just a simple editor for entering code.

The program interprets a simple batch language, rather like .bat files in DOS. It's neat enough and boasts a few editing options and a decent Help system.

As I said though, if you're new to the development game, MortScript will probably be no use to you.
