There are 6 different types of filters to block unwanted SMS. You have the freedom to choose whether to reject all incoming messages or to accept messages only from people listed in your phonebook. You can also choose to block incoming SMS messages from a defined phone number, from a defined prefix number and even messages that contain a defined phrase.

With SMS Spam Manager you can tune your phone with 4 different modes and choose among 6 different filters to block junk and unwanted SMS messages:

* Accept all (inactive) - the phone will accept all incoming SMS messages
* Block all - the phone will block all incoming SMS messages
* Accept phonebook only - the phone will accept incoming SMS messages only from people listed in your phonebook

The 'My Diary' section of Spb Brain Evolution allows you to check your progress over time, displaying a calendar that shows you your results, as well as a graph outlining changes. You can also check any awards you've picked up along the way - given for exceeding the expectations of your level.

The application has support for all of the major video file formats, and provides a pretty simple drag-and-drop interface for converting a movie to the right format and at an optimal resolution so you can display it, without any problem, on the screen of your handset. While it's pretty beginner-friendly there are also plenty of options to jiggle around with if you're one of those people who likes to jiggle around with options on their mobile phone.

Besides defining the output format, you can set the finished quality and resolution of your video. In the case of movies taken from DVD, you can even play around with the language, enable or disable subtitles, transfer files, and more.

Using AudialsMobile is a straightforward affair. Once you've installed and run the application you'll be given the option to search for an artist or to browse them all by genre. Both options are dead simple: to search you just enter the name of the performer and you'll be returned a list of possible matches as you type. Browsing by genre in AudialsMobile lets you pick a category (e.g. Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Dance), followed by a further sub-category to browse all the artists listed under that genre. Click on the name of the artist and you'll get a list of all the tracks by them available via the social radio networks AudialsRadio supports. Downloading a track with AudialsMobile is as simple as selecting it and hitting the 'Download' button.

The free AudialsMobile application gives you free access to two different tracks per day, while upgrading presents you with unlimited access to the thousands of tunes available through the service. Be warned though that if you don't have a flat rate data plan (unless you use WiFi) AudialsMobile could end up being pretty costly.

AudialsMobile now comes with support for search and record plug-ins, which are designed to speed up the process of looking for and downloading by utilizing add-ons from services such as eSnips and GaragBand.

AudialsMobile has to be admired for the sheer range of artists it gives you access to (more than 70,000 at present), though you won't necessarily find the exactly song you were looking for from a particular performer. Hopefully, in the future these networks will have a healthy back catalog of tracks for most artists.

On the whole, AudialsMobile provides a simple and cost-effective way of downloading music onto your mobile phone.

When first run, SPB Wallet asks you to create your first encrypted wallet file. This stage includes a password strength test which will warn you if your password looks like it's too simple. Next, you're presented with a list of categories for data storage, headed by a very handy 'About SPB Wallet' section. This area contains a lot of guidance on how to use the program, template creation and more.

The number of categories and templates available is impressive enough, and that's before you factor-in the easy-to-use template creation tool. Most of the templates also have smart little icons - and again, you're allowed to create and import your own if you want.

SPB Wallet features 256 bit AES encryption, an industry standard, which is apparently very difficult to crack. The biggest risk to your data is probably your phone itself: always remember to back up important information regularly.

SPB Wallet represents an excellent data protection solution to give you peace of mind when carrying your phone around.

As with a regular jigsaw, the object of SPB Puzzle is to join the pieces together to form a complete picture. There are ten different pictures (one in the trial) included in the game, each a classical work of with its own description.

One of the great things about SPB Puzzle is that it allows you to create your own custom puzzles, using pictures you have stored on your device. This can be done very quickly and you can set the difficulty levels for these jigsaws.

The presentation of SPB Puzzle is excellent. The rendering of the jigsaw pieces makes them seem very realistic, and I love the way the pieces automatically slot together when you find a match.

On the downside, it would have been nice to have more of a range of designs included in SPB Puzzle rather than just paintings. Having said this, you can download new puzzle packs from within the game.

If you're fanatical amount jigsaws, then SPB Puzzle could be the missing piece in your Windows Mobile games collection.

Advanced Battery Saver allows you to adjust the power consumption of your device to extend the amount of time between charges. In fact, the app claims to extend you battery life by up to 30%. It does this by deactivating certain phone services and functions that consume lots of power but which you might not necessarily need, such as Bluetooth, vibration, sounds, Internet, etc.

There are three preset modes in Advanced Battery Saver: Saver Off, Basic Saver, and Max Saver. Max Saver is very effective, but it is a bit restrictive in that it disables so many features. It would be nice if the app provided a few more presets, like Battery Extender does, but you can customize your own power-saving profiles yourself.

Advanced Battery Saver features an Auto saver mode, whereby you can set the profile to kick in once the remaining battery hits a certain point. There’s also a Savings chart, which plots the estimated battery life times of all the various profiles you have set up.

If you want to prevent your battery dying all the time, Advanced Battery Saver offers a simple and effective solution.

Lots of people like to keep hold of all the text messages they receive for future reference, or for posterity. However, a bulging SMS inbox can eat into your phone's memory. GodswMobile SMS Transfer lets you free up space on your internal memory by exporting text messages to your PC in TXT format.

GodswMobile SMS Transfer is very easy to use. The main interface consists of two buttons: one for backing up your messages and saving to your PC, and another for restoring SMS from an STF file to your phone or PDA. Backing up and restoring SMS data proved very fast in our tests. It's a shame GodswMobile SMS Transfer can't backup emails as well, however.

The GodswMobile SMS Transfer download includes a PC module, SMSTransferManager.exe, which allows you to import your SMS backup files to your Windows computer. As well as viewing and organizing your messages, the SMS Transfer Manager also allows you to edit, copy and paste your texts. Unfortunately, there's no search feature.

Overall, GodswMobile SMS Transfer represents a fast and easy way to back up and transfer SMS messages to your computer.

SPB Mobile Shell freshens up the rather old fashioned-looking Symbian front end, then adds new functionality on top of this. The application is essentially a new skin for your home screen, allowing you to add cool widgets in order to improve your productivity.

Not only does the new home screen applied by SPB Mobile Shell look great, it's also highly functional. You can add shortcuts with thumbnail images for up-to three of your most-called contacts. There are separate widgets for weather, wireless switches, appointments and tasks, phone profiles, and more.

SPB Mobile Shell also features a launcher that gives you access to recently-used apps and actions, as well as a task manager that lets you keep tabs on what's currently running on your device. The app is highly customizable, allowing you to tweak the layout of the homescreen, agenda view, and apply animated transitions.

The software makes for a very stylish and convenient app launcher, but SPB Mobile Shell doesn't make really deep changes to the Symbian interface. Once you get beyond the home screen, the Symbian interface remains pretty much untouched.

If you find the Symbian home screen a bit clunky, then SPB Mobile Shell makes for a stylish and more user-friendly alternative.

I'm sure you know how annoying it is when you lose all your contacts as a result of your phone breaking or being stolen. GodswMobile Contacts Transfer solves the problem by allowing you to save your contacts as either a TXT, CSV or CTS file. This file can then be restored either on your PC or on any other Windows Mobile device. GodswMobile Contacts Transfer can even export contacts to iPhone or Android phones.

GodswMobile Contacts Transfer features a very basic user interface, which make it quick and easy to use. Essentially, there are just two options: Backup Contacts and Restore Contacts. You're able to back up contacts from your SIM card, Outlook and those that are stored on the device itself. These can be saved either on a folder on your device, or to your storage card (not possible in this trial version). Unfortunately, GodswMobile Contacts Transfer doesn't have the ability to perform auto backups.

The download also includes a PC client for GodswMobile Contacts Transfer, which is designed to make it easier to import and manage contacts from your Windows Mobile device. Although it's easy enough to use, the Windows app looks terrible, with an interface that looks like it's been designed in Microsoft Word!

GodswMobile Contacts Transfer is simple, no-frills program that lets you quickly preserve your contacts by backing them up.

SPB Time provides you with World clocks, timers, alarms, stopwatches, calendars and moon phases, all from one handy interface. Oh, and it gives you the current time as well!

The skinable user interface in SPB Time is very slick. The way you can swipe between different clock faces, and the inclusion of a slide-up main menu gives the program an elegant feel. Unfortunately, there are only two default skins included in SPB Time and if you want more you have to download them.

Whether you're setting multiple alarms, counting down from a specific time, or timing something on the stopwatch, everything you do in SPB Time is very clear and straightforward, thanks to large finger-friendly buttons and good use of icons.

We were particularly impressed with the World Time feature. This allows you to add multiple locations around the planet from a massive selection of cities. Once you've configured your shortlist of cities, SPB Time plays an animation of the globe, honing in the different places in turn to tell you what the time is there. For each place you can also view information about daylight savings, and sunrise and sunset times.

I was a bit disappointed that the Calendar section doesn't allow you to add tasks and appointments. It seems it's only for checking the days that certain dates fall on, and you can't even set alarms for a certain date from this menu.

Overall though, SPB Time is one of the most complete and easy-to-use clock apps you'll find for Symbian.

You can view and manage your network usage with SPB Wireless Monitor in a number of ways. The app provides you with an Application Report, showing you how much data is being consumed by each app you're running. The Traffic Report displays the total amount of data consumed on your phone.

Both of these reports in SPB Wireless Monitor allow you to filter data usage stats by Mobile (via carrier's data plan), or WiFi. You can also specify the period of time you want to show data for (daily, monthly, yearly, etc.) You can even export reports as a file.

One very useful feature of SPB Wireless Monitor is the ability to set up alarms that alert you when you pass a certain amount of data usage. This is very handy for monitoring when you're about to exceed your data allowance.

It would have been great if SPB Wireless Monitor went a stage further and allowed you to put a cap on traffic for a particular app. This would prevent an application from consuming lots of data without you being aware of it.

As it stands, SPB Wireless Monitor is an effective way to keep track of all the data you are using on your phone.
