If you're a fan of stats then you'll be pleased to here that game records are one of Aces Solitaire's strong points, and the game stores lots of information on everything you do, to help you chart your progress.

I wasn't sure about some of the backgrounds, but on the whole the game looks nice and will keepyou amused for some hours.

For many of us, it's that time of year again when the nights start drawing in, the leaves drop from the trees and the prospect of winter grows ever more real.

This time of year isn't all bad though, as this theme proves. The Late Autumn Theme reminds you of just how pretty this season can be. It adds an attractive background for your home screen, which features a forest of golden leaves and a sparkling lake. It also changes some of the home screen icons, although these are not really that impressive.

BlackJack is one of my favorite parlor games, largely because it's one of the easiest to play.

BlackDeal is a no-frills incarnation of the classic 21 game, setting you the challenge of beating the dealer to win cash. You simply choose the stake you wish to play for then after the dealer gives you your hand, you need to select whether to hit, stick, double or split (the latter two options only being available in certain circumstances.)

The beauty of BlackDeal is in its simplicity. All the controls are done through the directional buttons on your phone, or through the keypad, and the options are very clearly labeled on screen. Graphically, BlackDeal is tidy without being out-of-this-world and the sound effects are a bit thin on the ground.

Unfortunately, there's no multiplayer option in BlackDeal, so you'll have to be content with playing against the computer.

Neverthless, this in itself is an enjoyable and addictive experience, making BlackDeal a great little timewaster.

Brain training games are all the rage these days, and Resco Brain Games brings an accomplished take on the format to Windows Mobile devices.

Brain Games is designed to help you improve your mental capabilities by following a course of different tests and puzzles. There are 36 in all, which test challenge your skills in mathematics, memory and analysis. Each of the 36 brain games are broken down into ten separate tests of rising difficulty, and you can't progress to the next difficulty level until you've finished the previous test.

You're awarded stars out of five depending on how many questions you get right and how quickly you finish the brain games. A glamorous teacher is on-hand to award you your points, or simply to give you instructions on what to do.

The control system is Resco Brain Games has been very well designed and makes for intuitive use via the direction pad. The layout of the answer buttons means you have no excuse for being slow to answer, as they're incredibly simple to access.

There's no doubt that the tests in Brain Games are great for boosting your brain power, and as I could clearly see from the comprehensive statistics section, I found myself steadily improving over time. My only slight qualm would be that the games aren't diverse enough. Perhaps some word puzzles or reflex-testing games would've made Brain Games a more well-rounded app.

Nevertheless, Resco Brain Games is without doubt one of the best Smartphone brain trainers around.
