Numerador Fusión is intended to make our printing tasks lighter and easier, by providing us with an almost fully automatic method to print out incremental documents such as bills, invoices, member cards and so on.

Despite the terrible English translation, the program itself is easy to use thanks to a wizard-style interface that guides you step by step through the whole process. But if at any given moment you need to take a look at the program's Help, be aware that it's in Spanish.

This wouldn't be much of an issue because the program is pretty simple, but we did receive some error messages when trying to save the template and we would have appreciated it if we could have searched the Help file for some advice.

If you are a design professional or need to manipulate images in a very detailed way, then you'll need a program which can zoom in on your images in high definition detail.

Normally, if you try to reveal details in highlighted or shadowed areas using exposure correction (such as levels) you may spoil the parts of the image that you want to leave unchanged. However, the idea behind AKVIS Enhancer is that it intensifies color transition. and strengthens the difference between adjacent pixels having different color gradations. In this way, you can reveal not only details in the shadow but even details in the overexposed and mid tone areas. The program improves detail on an image, no matter what the cause of the blurring as it can detect in detail the underexposed, overexposed and mid tone areas of a photo with uneven exposure. It can bring into focus blurred images and now even supports HDRI technology. The program has three modes - Enhancer, Focus, and HDRI. In the Enhancer and Focus modes you can improve a picture using one single shot; in the HDR mode you need a series of shots but you'll be surprised at how much you can improve your images.

This program can't turn your photos into a work of art but it can certainly improve those images that have been blurred or are out of focus.

Improving your photos to make them look just perfect can be a lengthy and boring process, especially if you're not very familiar with graphic editors.

Magic Enhancer Lite helps you in these situations by providing you with a quick, easy way to optimize your pictures. This program works as a Photoshop plug-in but don't worry if you're not precisely a Photoshop expert: the plug-in is so easy to use it doesn't require any artistic abilities.

Simply open the photo you want to work with in Photoshop and select the Magic Enhancer Lite option from the plug-ins menu (it's a bit hidden, in Filter > Image Skill). The plug-in will automatically load an optimized version of the photo you just opened, but if you're no happy with it, go ahead and adjust the sliders by yourself until you obtain the result you're looking for.

The difference may not be very noticeable at first sight, but if you click on the image you'll be able to compare the original photo with the optimized one. On the downside, I must say the plug-in has a tendency to close Photoshop once it's done, which I don't know if it's the way it should behave or rather a bug.

With this Photoshop plug-in you don't need to be an expert photo editor to obtain really high quality shots in just a couple of clicks.

Genuine Fractals is a Photoshop plugin that lets you blowup pictures to sizes you couldn't attain normally. We're glad to see significant improvements in version 5, a real step up from the previous iteration.

Images can now be scaled up 1,000% thanks to a new algorithm, although you'll get excellent results at 500 or 600. We also see big improvements in the interface, which looks much sleeker and blends in particularly well to Photoshop CS3's look. The plugin works faster, 10 times as much claims the developer. You'll find significant upgrades in the tools and features of Genuine Fractals like robust layer support, new sharpening and film grain. The plugin also adds built-in sharpening to improve scaled images.

Most of the new features are a improvement, however we did feel that Genuine Fractals did not handle semi-transparent areas and hard edges as well as we'd expect. The only real drawback of the plugin is its price though. At 143,95 Euros it's a really expensive investment to make just for a plugin.

Version 5 of Genuine Fractals is a significant upgrade with better scaling, more features and a sleeker interface. It doesn't come cheap though.

After using Photoshop for some time you realize how the Magic Wand or the Lasso are indispensable tools, whether for cutting out a part of an image or selecting an object in a photo. If you want an even more precise cut out tool, you can also install the Vertus Fluid Mask plug-in. It is especially effective for photos, and I was really amazed by the increased edge detection, which lets you select complex patterns inside an image. You can also make exact color selections thanks to the Color Sampler and WorkSpace.
