SyncTwoFolders 1.2.4 - Synchronize two folders

Ever come up with multiple versions of the same folder? It can be a real hassle selecting which one to keep. The best is simply to use a program like SyncTwoFolders to merge both versions of the file together.

All you need to do is select the source folder and the destination into which it will go. SyncTwoFolders gives you a good choice of sync modes including reciprocal, source up target or source down target. It is not clear what these different modes do and we were disappointed to see that the help tag, which would have probably provided more info, could not get opened.

In terms of performance, SyncTwoFolders merges folders quickly and will generate a log text with details of the operation. The program includes a Simulation mode to try out a merge before actually doing it, but we did not really find it that useful.

SyncTwoFolders can come in handy for quickly merging two folders. It's a shame the help tag does not work as we would have liked to get more info on the different sync modes.

TimeSheet 0.8.4.2 - Keep track of your work time

To stay organized when working on multiple projects you need to learn how to manage your time well. Timesheet a free utility to keep track of the time spent on different jobs.

Don't expect anything too fancy with Timesheet: it works with Java, so you'll get everything except an attractive interface. On the other side this means that the interface is clear and works efficiently.

Nothing too difficult with Timesheet: create a new project, create a new entry, add start and end times and you are ready to go. The left side of the program structures all entries by data and reflects time spent. The center of the interface shows all your entries, and if some of them are still not finished you will be able to see the duration counting down.

Timesheet won't let you reorganize entries by columns, which limits the ways you can see your data. We also found it quite difficult to change time and date as you need to enter them exactly as they are seen in Timesheet.

Timesheet is a good effort at a time tracking solution, however it offers too many limitations to be used intensely. Try Project Clock as another way to manage your time.

Atomic Clock Sync 2.7.0.3 - Get the real atomic time from the NIST

This program will connect to one of the time servers operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States, and will compare the time of your computer with the time on the servers operated by the NIST. This program will then display the difference between your system and the servers and if greater than 15 seconds, it will offer you the option of adjusting your PC by the displayed amount. The overall uncertainty in this comparison should be no worse than +/- 5 seconds under all circumstances and will be substantially less than this value in most cases.

Days Off Calculator 4.0 - Organize your employees' working hours

The Days Off Calculator is the world's premier workweek optimization software. It's easily adaptable to construction, maintenance, assembly lines, telephone coverage, retail work, restaurants, field supervision, dispatching, security, etc.

The calculator helps you schedule work crews over the 7-day week, by working out how many crew members can have any given pair of days off (Saturday/Sunday, Sunday/Monday, etc.) and still fill your personnel requirements. Tell it how many people you need each day, and it tells you how to set up your employees' off-days.

The calculator answers questions like this: My employees work 5 days a week. I need 15 employees to work each day Monday through Thursday, 17 on Friday, 14 on Saturday, and 11 on Sunday. How many employees do I need total? Of that total, how many employees can have Saturday and Sunday off? How many get Sunday and Monday off, and so on for other combinations of days off? The calculator can generate a variety of reports to make the scheduling process easy.

The calculator is not comprehensive employee-scheduling software. Although the calculator includes extensive reporting features, it is designed specifically to solve days-off problems. The calculator does not figure payroll, track sick leave, schedule vacations, etc.
