Mazaika is a mosaic creation application. It produces images composed from many small images (aka photomosaic), like a "Truman show" movie poster - a composite of hundreds of little pictures to mimic another larger image. To make good mosaic pictures you must have a collection of more that 1000 different pictures (it's easy if you have digital camera). You can use image files in almost any format for this composition. There are many adjustable parameters to control the creation process. You can save the resulting mosaic picture as one big image file.

Foto-Mosaik 4.1.0 - Create nice mosaics with your own photos

Mosaics are visually very appealing, but also very hard to create… unless you count on an application like Foto-Mosaik.

With Foto-Mosaik you can generate a virtual mosaic from any photo, using your own image collection as an enormous box of mosaic color tiles. The program takes care of everything and your intervention is limited to selecting the folder where the photo tiles should come from and the one image you want to convert into a mosaic.

The first time you run Foto-Mosaik, you need to create a tile database with your pictures. The larger it is, the better results you'll get in the long run, so be prepared to wait for quite a long time while the program creates the database.

There are several options to customize before creating the mosaic, such as the number of tiles to use or paper format (portrait or landscape). Bear in mind that you'll need a high number of tiles in order to obtain a fairy good result. Ideally these tiles should also be quite varied in color and light, otherwise the resulting mosaic will look plain and dark – or it won't even resemble the original picture at all.

With Foto-Mosaik - and as many photos as you can gather in a database - you'll be able to create a beautiful mosaic from any of your pictures.

I've always felt a special fascination for mosaics. From Roman tile compositions to current digital collages, I think they're an awesome artistic expression. That's why I was so happy when I found Andreamosaic.

This tool enables you to create amazing mosaics from your digital pictures in a very easy way. It requires having a large collection of photos to use as tiles, that's true. Fortunately the installation file already includes a pack of 500 sample photos that produce excellent results.

The program's interface is quite dull; in fact it's simply a gray window with too much text on it. But the mechanics are easy to understand so you'll be creating your own mosaics in no time! Plus, the program includes a 20-page manual that explains everything thoroughly. Just remember that the more tiles you use, the longer it will take to generate the mosaic and the larger the final file will be.

Andreamosaic lets you create beautiful mosaics from your own digital photos in a very easy way.
