They say old classics never die, and I guess this sentence could be also applied to some videogames.

Tetro Challenge is a remake of the popular Russian puzzle that features the same playability and addiction level as the original game. In fact I've had to force myself into writing this review before spending too much time testing it!

This colorful Blocks clone features several different gaming modes (Challenge, Destroyer, Panic and Bricklayer), a decent soundtrack and sound effects and quite a few challenges to keep you hooked for a while during a pause from work. So, depending on the type of game you choose, you'll have to fight against extra blocks, weirdly shaped pieces and other obstacles.

On the downside, I missed having two ways to rotate bricks like in the original game (in Tetro Challenge you have to choose between clockwise or counter-clockwise). Also, I didn't like the fact that the game opens up its own website every time you play it.

Despite these minor flaws, Tetro Challenge is a very entertaining, decent puzzle game that will keep you amused for hours.

Sally seems to own just about everything - a burger joint, a restaurant, a hairdressers and now a spa.

Your aim in Sally's Spa is to satisfy as many people as possible by giving them a spa to remember. The better job you do, the more money and custom you make. You can pamper your customers with everything from multiple facials to manicures and deep massages. As you expand, you have 65 upgrade options available to make your spa the most comprehensive and best equipped in town.

However, the point is not to just give your customers random facials or massages - you have to select which is the best treatment according to your customer profile. If you get it right, you'll earn more money but if not, you might not even get paid and your satisfaction rating will decrease. If you do manage to expand, you can choose from new furniture, bigger and more luxurious saunas, bigger waiting rooms and more professional equipment. The main annoyance of the game is the pop ups warning you of a problem or even commending you for a job well done. The problem is you have to click on these to get rid of them and it would be better if they just disappeared on their own.

Sally's Spa is a fun and original game that has some great cartoon style graphics and if you're a fan of Diner Dash, then you'll particularly enjoy the fast paced action.

If your kids are crayoning all over your furniture and walls then get them switched onto Magic Whiteboard where they can doodle away for hours without causing any damage to house and home.

Drawing is apparently one of the best way for kids to develop their ability to reason and coordinate along with playing with toys and other creative pursuits. Magic Whiteboard is exactly what you'd expect it to be - a whiteboard which kids can use over and over again to paint, draw and doodle with several different colours. However, this is no ordinary whiteboard because it is designed not only for individual use, but also for collective drawing in a home network with up to 5 computers. Once the masterpiece is complete, you can output the image in BMP, JPEG, or GIF formats which is rather limited although it's doubtful that anyone who uses this would need any other particular format.

An unusual and innovative whiteboard that can be as much fun for parents as it is for their children.

I'm not a big fan of racing games - I find them a bit too repetitive – but Death Track: Resurrection is an exception to the rule. In fact it's quite original, that is, for a racing game.

Death Track: Resurrection is not just about racing down all the tracks in the game and trying to arrive first to the finishing line; it's also about fighting against the other drivers and trying to stay alive in an action-packed race where the first prize is simply survival.

The game lets you choose between several cars and also features a wide range of weapons, though the demo doesn't include them. There are also different gaming modes, but only Challenge and Quick Race modes are available in this demo.

As for gameplay, Death Track: Resurrection is quite easy to control: the four arrow keys to manage your car plus two more keys to shoot against other players. In a way it's a good thing that the car is easy to control, as you also need to concentrate on shooting and gathering all the power-ups scattered along the track. The physics engine is not great - especially when it comes to car damage – but the game's general setting in a somewhat futuristic city looks great: all those gray buildings with huge ads reminded me of Blade Runner. Pity the tracks are so incredibly long: each lap takes years to complete.

Death Track: Resurrection is an original racing game where the important thing is not just arriving first, but also smashing other drivers on your way to the finishing line.

There was a time when air battles were not fought between spaceships loaded with colorful laser guns. Instead, pilots used old planes and machine guns, and needed to be really quick and skillful if they wanted to survive.

This is precisely the setting you'll find in Aeronauts, a fun online game in which you'll engage in fierce air battles against people from all over the world. Before that, however, you'll need to go through a series of lengthy tutorials which, although a bit boring, are absolutely necessary if you want to master your plane's movements, tricks and special twirls – something that will prove essential to achieve victory.

The game can be controlled either with the keyboard of the mouse. I personally prefer the latter, but you can choose whichever suits you best. The good thing is that you're given the opportunity to test both controlling methods before making up your mind.

Being an online game, Aeronaut has a heavy social component. Too bad we couldn't fully test online characteristics due to the game's frequent connection issues – probably to be blamed on our side though. An even more interesting feature is the possibility to customize both your pilot and your plane with nicer apparel, more powerful weapons or even new skills.

Aeronauts features attractive graphics, not in a realistic style though, but following a more cartoonish style instead. Music adds the final touch to a game that, despite being difficult to control at the beginning, is really fun to play.

Aeronauts is a very original online game that give a twist to the typical air battle, presenting you with old planes and skilled pilots fighting for survival in a parallel world.

Wall-E is the new movie by Pixar that tells us the story of Wall-E, a cute robot who works as a kind of garbage collector but suddenly realizes that his life has a new objective.

The movie has been quickly converted into a videogame so that all Wall-E fans can enjoy the adventures of their favorite robot in computers and consoles alike – and at the same time make Pixar earn more money.

The Wall-E game is a classic platform game but from a first person perspective, meaning you see action from behind Wall-E's back instead of following him along a side sliding level. Be prepared to race as quickly as you can and also perform huge jumps in the right time – one second later and you're busted. You also have a small laser beam with which you can destroy any obstacles on your way.

Graphics in Wall-E are not especially appealing. Neither are sound effects, honestly, with the exception of the introductory song. The game is easy to control in terms of the number ok keys being used, though mastering your little robot will probably take you a while.

Despite the great story behind Wall-E, I found the game a bit disappointing. This is something that usually happens with games based on movies anyway, though maybe my disappointment was due to the excessive restrictions of the demo (only two levels available, and quite short ones).

Wall-E is a somewhat deceiving conversion of the Pixar movie to a videogame, but if you like quick, action-packed platform games you should give it a try.

Puzzle games are great for wasting some time on your and it's always nice to see something new and original to try out, rather than the same old challenges all the time.

BlackFlip is an interesting puzzler where your mission is to flip over black and white tiles in order to tile the grid in one color. There are more than 6,000 different grids included in the game each with a different pattern, and a differing difficulty level, from one to five stars (with five being the most difficult).

I found the game a little frustrating at first because it's very difficult to work out exactly what you're supposed to be doing and there are no in-game instructions. After checking out the demo video on the developer's site and experimenting for a bit, I finally worked out the dynamics of the game.

BlackFlip actually proves to be quite engrossing after a while, and the thrill of turning an entire grid white becomes strangely compelling. With so many puzzles included and a Zoom facility to help you out, there's certainly plenty of life in this one. Unfortunately though, I felt some of the difficulty ratings were a bit odd, as some supposed five-star ones I finished very easily, while I puzzled over a few one-star games for ages.

The gameplay is a little convoluted, but once you get the hang of it, BlackFlip becomes an amusing way to pass some time.

Remember that great Street Fighter arcade you used to play twenty year ago? Now you can have it back on your own computer!

Paintown is an open-source project that will brings many sweet memories back to you – that is, if you ever played that kind of games. It's a side-scrolling fighting game that follows the style of all those good ol' popular fighting arcades. The good thing is that, being open source, you don't have to spend your quarters to play Paintown.

That said, don't expect too much from it, especially as regards graphics. Both characters and backgrounds are very pixelated but at the same time this is precisely what gives the game that sweet retro look. As for characters' movements they're quite limited when comparing to other similar games, but there's a complete list of special punches and kicks you can check at the developer's website.

Personally I detest creepy crawlies and there's nothing I hate more than walking through a spider's web and enduring the ensuing panic as I try to pull it all off my face before Incy Wincey comes along.

Someone told me the best way to overcome your fears is to confront them. I wasn't ready to dip my head into a big bucket of spiders though, so I thought I'd try out this game to improve my web-untangling skills without having to face a real-life arachnid.

When you first start out, TangledBugs seems a little complicated. You're faced with a tangled mess of spindles that you must unravel by moving around the bugs that each end is attached to. You can't move to the next level until none of the lines are crossing each other.

Once you've checked out the in-game demonstration it becomes easier to understand. You soon realise that when the lines turn green it means that they don't intersect another line, leaving you free to concentrate on untangling the rest of the web.

Of course, you could just sit there randomly moving the lines around until they all go green, but in the timed, sudden-death mode a little more logic is required in order to get out before it's too late. The graphics are pretty slick and being able to control the game using the touchscreen is a real boon, but ultimately I found the game gave be a headache because of the sheer complexity of some of the puzzles.

Nevertheless, TangledBugs is ideal for anyone who wants to keep their brain engaged during a wet lunchtime in the office.

Once upon a time computer games didn't have the luxury of fancy graphics to make them appealing to users. Instead, they had to rely a lot more on imagination and original ideas to entice gamers. I remember loads of text-based adventure games that had me gripped for longer than many of today's lavish productions.

Lost in the Pyramid recaptures the magic of those classics in the form of an imaginative quest in which you star as Indiana Bones, a famous archeologist who has a dream one night about a pyramid. After waking up, you must go to consult a psychic who reveals where to start your mission, then it's off into the wild unknown to explore the mythical building of your dreams.

Along the way you'll need to make decisions based on the information presented to you on screen and your responses determine whether you score points and progress to the next stage, lose points, or even lose one of your five lives. The control system is akin to most text-based adventure games, where you need to respond to a statement (e.g. 'Open the door?', 'Go to Africa?', 'Pay the psychic?') by clicking Yes or No (or 'What' to repeat the question).

The responses to your answers can be hilarious at times and this makes the Lost in the Pyramid great fun to play. Some of the put-downs and one-liners delivered by the computer are worthy of a Chris Rock stand-up show. Despite its humorous nature, progressing through the levels in no laughing matter, and some of the puzzles will take you quite some time to complete.

Graphically, the game isn't anyway near as bad as those famous text-based games of old on on the Commodore or Spectrum. There are colorful cartoon pictures along the way that illustrate what is happening, although I felt there could have been more of these, as some stay on the screen for a long time.

Overall though, Lost in the Pyramid is really good fun, and is a big enough adventure to keep you captivated for ages.

If you've ever played the guitar classic Guitar Hero then you'll see immediately that this game is a tame imitation both in name, graphics and just about everything else.

The game employs the same scoring meters and song listings right down to the font and layout. At the moment, the game only supports a guitar controller so you'll need a PS2 to USB adapter to play it which is a major downside for most people for a start. It's also very similar to Frets on Fire but the music is nowhere near as good or original. That said, despite the distinct lack of originality, this is one of the few Guitar Hero style games available on PC and has a definite appeal for those that have never played Guitar Hero or Frets on Fire. For those users, the game will seem like a revelation and once you've got your USB adaptor, you should have hours of fun on it.

For prospective Van Halens or those that really love to rock out but can't play the guitar, this is a great if heavily copied Guitar Game.

Need For Spped is widely acknowledged as one of the best racing series ever made and Need For Speed Carbon doesn't let down in stunning style and realism.

Need for Speed Carbon is a fast and furious racing game that features both city and canyon racing environments. However, be warned that the download is huge and you'll need a good 5 minutes to let the installation take its course but after you do, you'll think it well worth it. In this demo, you can adapt three main cars - a Chevy Camaro SS, Lamborghini Gallardo and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Once you are strapped in, you race with three other team mates against 4 Scorpion cars. There is a huge amount of G-Force placed on the cars as they take the bend and you'll find yourself drifting an awful lot. However, this is exactly how you earn points - the more drift, the more points. It is however, almost impossible to beat the lead Scorpion car - they're just too damn quick and one mistake sees you out of the game for good.

A great racing game that has definitely been improved although the gameplay can be so challenging, you want to give up easily.

This has to be one of the most comprehensive programs I've ever laid eyes on. It's pretty much an entire entertainment solution ranging from gaming to a home entertainment centre. It features multiple emulators for gaming fans, music playlists, a fully functional Jukebox, Picture and Slide show viewer, Ebook and Comic Book reader, CD Player and CD Ripper with Automatic lookup of CD information and even a News Reader.

In addition, GameEx features a DVD Player with support for FFDSHOW which can also be controlled with a Gamepad, The Video module can also play DVR-MS using FFDSHOW (on Windows XP). Registered users can also use GameExtender which is like a networked LCD display for GameEx but for a real PC Display or TV, it can also be viewed through a web browser according to the developers.

For anyone that wants an all-in-one package, GameEx is certainly impressive although it packs a bit too much into one entertainment centre for my liking.

Racing through the streets of a big city like Paris or London is completely illegal. This is probably why street racing games are so popular these days.

French Street Racing is one of those games, which is set – as you can guess by its name – in the most important cities of France. You're given the opportunity to race those streets with your shiny sports car, competing against other drivers to reach the finishing line in the first position.

Exciting as it sounds the game fell quite short of expectations when I tried it. To begin with, menus are dull and difficult to use. Then, graphics are just fine, but they get blurred and confusing while playing the game. Last, but not least, the game's physics is far from being realistic.

French Street Racing features interesting elements, such as the possibility to customize your car and support for online multiplayer games. It’s a pity though that the whole gaming experience is ruined by the graphic quality and gameplay.

French Street Racing seems a very promising driving game that lets you race along the streets of important French cities. Too bad it still needs lots of development in graphics, gameplay and physics.
