The game is controlled with mouse for aiming and keyboard for aiming. Survival is the aim in Invaders: Corruption, which you do by avoiding enemies and shooting them. Like Geometry Wars, there are lots of enemies and they will behave differently. Some will float around, others will home into you. There are power ups to help you and a limited number of bombs which clear the screen.

The gameplay of Invaders: Corruption isn't revolutionary, but it's well done. The blocky rainbow graphics are attractive and the sound is just right. The one touch and your dead aspect of Invaders: Corruption will either irritate you or give you that 'just one more go' feeling.

Arcade game loving high score chasers will love the fast paced action in Invaders: Corruption. It's a neat take on the arena shooter genre and great fun.

Darkside includes multiple game modes with several different missions although all involve simply blowing the hell out of anything that moves. The plot is thus - for 200 years we have been mining our solar system's asteroid belt in peace but all that changed the day the Krainian Empire invaded the outer territories.

You take control of the ArkLight X-52 and fly around collecting powerups and taking on 3 different game modes. One is Mission Mode where you have 100 different variations on saving the universe. Arcade mode is just going around blowing things up in true arcade style and survival mode is exactly that - you have one life to stay alive meaning the slightest hit from an asteroid ends your game.

There's nothing special about DarkSide that makes it stand out from the crowd but it does offer some excellent graphics and action packed explosions.

Take control of a triangular spacecraft with a single weapon. You can rotate the craft left or right, and maneuver using the thrust button. If any asteroids or alien weapons touch you, it's instant, explosive, death, and everything must be destroyed before you can proceed to the next level.

There are some nice touches in 'Troids. Unlike the original, instead of the edges wrapping around, the arena in 'Troids is closed and asteroids and projectiles bounce of the sides. This makes asteroid movement a bit more dynamic, and also allows you to deflect fire off the walls.

There are also more challenging enemies in 'Troids. From giant rotating laser beams, to Chinese dragon-like enemies that fill the screen with bullets. This makes 'Troids much more interesting, but also pretty hard.

The difficulty is the main problem with 'Troids, because there is no save game, so every time you run out of lives it's back to the start! This is a very traditional approach, but it can be frustrating. There is also no windowed mode.

'Troids is a cool modern update on a gaming standard. It looks and sounds great, while being a real challenge.

Despite its confusing name, which may lead you to think this is a Japanese comic book, Power Manga follows the standard structure of an Asteroids clone, putting you in control of a small spaceship that must battle through waves of enemies and floating space rocks.

Power Manga features more than 40 levels of pure arcade fun, with hundreds of different enemy creatures (from a very well-organized wave of small spaceships to the big final boss at the end of each level) and a varied selection of weapons and other bonuses. On the downside, the graphics are far from wonderful, but in a way it's this pixelated design is precisely what makes Power Manga even more appealing.

The game may feel a bit repetitive after a few levels – especially if you're not much of an arcade fan – but if you loved Asteroids 25 years ago this is a must-have.

Power Manga is the perfect game for a short break off work – especially if you enjoyed the classic Asteroids as a child.

Wazzal is set in the year 2314, when the human race has expanded to some other planets in the Solar System and you work as part of the crew in a cargo spaceship. When war breaks out, it's your turn to take control of the ship and fight for survival as a space pirate.

Your overall aim in Wazzal is to gather a complete fleet of ships so that you can defeat more powerful enemies. You'll be assigned different missions, usually involving traveling from one planet to another, meeting other people and eventually engaging in space battles.

Despite this original plot, I found Wazzal to be a bit disappointing, especially the graphics, which are not as good as I expected. Also, gameplay in Wazzal is so different from other games it makes it really difficult to control the spaceship.

Wazzal is a new twist to Asteroids clones: a space pirates adventures that unfortunately may be a bit too difficult to play.

The aim of the game is to escape from a castle where you've been kept prisoner by those evil bubbles (how can you take a bubble-shaped enemy seriously?), though you won't see any castle at all, as the game's background is just a squared color pattern. While running away from the castle, you'll need to get rid of enemies by spitting at them (yes, you didn't misread it, I said spitting).

As simple as it seems, Plobb will certainly challenge your agility and speed in controlling the mouse. Every time you spit, I mean, shoot an enemy it'll become smaller and eventually split into several creatures, until you can finally wipe it out. Some bubbles will give you power ups when disappearing from the screen, which is good because sometimes it takes ages to finish them.

In all, Plobb! is a casual fun game, perfect for a short break. It features an original design and lots of extras, but enemies are sometimes too hard to get rid of.
