Although not particularly advanced, the built-in email client is useful for sending out information from within the application. It's particualrly great for jotting down your thoughts in the text editor then sharing them with others without having to wade through multiple programs. Handily, OrganizeME places itself in the System Tray, meaning it's always on hand whenever you have an important note to take down or if you quickly want to send an email. What's more, the easy-to-configure alarm is great for reminding you of tasks or appointments throught the day.

Well, actually it really is, but if you plan on keeping your head above water with your courses you’ll have to properly organize your timetable.

You can also specify what degree you’ll be studying and what grades you aim for. Keep track of your academic results by entering them in the homework and tests section.

It won’t give you better grades, but at least you’ll see clearly how well (or badly) you’re doing. All the essential information for the day is kept on the main page.

Select a class to see your schedule for the day and check the important reminders of things to do.

It will all appear on the appropriate date in the in-built calendar.

The windows are often cluttered and adding simple information like your degree is hindered by the positioning of buttons and entries. There are multiple “add” buttons and you’re puzzled as to which one actually adds your new entry.

I’ve also had the program crash on me quite a few times when adding a new task.

It does the job, but nothing more. If you’re looking for something more professional go for WinOrganizer or Essential PIM.

Besides the standard client, MSD Organizer Multiuser also includes an administrator tool which enables one computer to work as server for your MSD Organizer network. You don’t need to worry about your data either: each user has his/her own password, and MSD Organizer Multiuser lets you protect the whole database with a master password.

However, MSD Organizer Multiuser is not the best looking app in the world. The interface is packed with functions, icons, buttons and menus, making it hard to find what you’re looking for. On the good side, this means that the program features pretty much all the tools you may need to organize your information.

MSD Organizer Multiuser does not impress with looks but it does offer a fully comprehensive organizational tool for teams and groups that need the utmost functionality combined with high security.

In order to meet the demands of managing a busy office the program counts on a large number of tools for taking care of different tasks, each of which can significantly improve efficiency one you've mastered how to use it. There are lots of neat additions that make the scheduling process more bearable, such as a drag-and-drop function, which allows you to click on the start time of an employee's shift and drag a bar down to the time they finish.

Schedule It provides you with a number of different ways of looking at your schedule, including daily, weekly, monthly or yearly views. They can even be colour-coded to make them easier to read. Security and back-up is also taken care of very well and you can apply password-protection and restore data with ease. Perhaps the only thing that lets Schedule It down is that its reporting section is quite limited compared with other similar products.

Overall, Schedule It proves to be a very useful suite that can dramatically improve the efficiency of your office scheduling.

myPortablePIM is a surprisingly feature rich agenda that doesn't require installation and can be run from a USB memory stick or any other portable device. It includes a calendar, a task list, a contact manager and tools to handle quick notes and alarms. All the included functions in myPortablePIM are very easy to configure and use.

Besides these basic features, myPortablePIM also has other more original functions, such as a program launcher, an RSS feeds reader, a weather forecast utility and a tool to remotely access your Gmail inbox.

It all seems very promising in myPortablePIM: a portable information manager you can run from a simple USB key, with lots of interesting tools. But unfortunately myPortablePIM is let down by its incredible memory usage – enough to freeze an older PC.

Equally suitable for personal or business use, WinPIM uses an Outlook-like interface to organize your contacts, calendar, tasks, diary, notes and email. The whole program is highly customizable, meaning that you can change almost any aspect of its physical appearance to make sure it suits your needs. Configuration options are also extensive. Best of all, WinPIM is password protected.

Although it does its job well, WinPIM doesn't really offer the average user anything that can't be found in programs such as Microsoft Outlook. Where it does excel, however, is in the volume of extra information that can be added to each field, with the ability to attach notes, photos, files and other documents to almost every function. There are also multiple fields within each entry. Everything is importable and exportable, making it very unlikely that you won't be able to add the information and details you need.

WinPIM has some nice touches, like a solid search function and a section that easily converts time zones and area codes. This is great for users who want to keep extremely detailed records.

WinPIM is an efficient personal organizer that is especially useful for users who need to record lots of supplementary information.

I have reviewed lots of planners and one thing I have learned is that a lot of them are very, very complex. That's great if you like the control that filling in a million tiny boxes gives you, but some of us, myself included, would just prefer a slightly simpler approach. Gljakal's To Do provides that alternative.

This application comes with a nice, clean interface and a number of options that will keep you as productive as possible. You can edit the Gljakal's To Do interface and task entries as much as you want, adding detail and formatting and applying a due date. You can also prioritize your to-do list, and receive a summary of pending tasks when you start the program. To make matters even easier, Gljakal's To Do has an autosave option and a search function, perfect for when you have added a lot of tasks to the program and need to find one in particular.

Gljakal's To Do has no email integration or contacts function, but in my opinion, that's actually a plus. If you are looking for something that simply records what you have to do and tells you when it is due, this program is perfect. It is easy on the eye and has enough extra functions to make using Gljakal's To Do a comfortable experience for those who like to keep things simple.

Gljakal's To Do is a minimalist to-do application that will keep your life under uncomplicated control.

EssentialPIM Pro is a really great program. Similar to Outlook in style and functioning, it's a clean, flexible tool that allows you to document, record and plan practically every element of your professional or personal day. You can get an overview of your schedule in EPIM Today, or examine and modify each particular area under the Schedule, To Do, Notes, Contacts, Mail and Trash categories. One of the great things about EssentialPIM Pro is that it is so intuitive. Want to add a new sub-note? Just click on sub-note and the blank note will appear. Want to email a colleague? Double-click their email address and a new email pops up.

It's not just ease-of-use that makes EssentialPIM Pro such a delight. It has loads of useful functions that help make it one of the best personal information managers around. You can import and export information, sync with a variety of programs and devices, protect your information with a password, automatically create back-ups and manage your database. Add this to the fact that EssentialPIM Pro is fully customizable, comes in a wide range of languages and has rich-text editing, and I think you'll agree that EssentialPIM is a very impressive piece of software.

EssentialPIM Pro has to be one of the best PIMs out there.

EssentialPIM Free can securely schedule your day, manage your contacts, keep track of your To Do plans and organize your notes. EssentialPIM's interface is very similar to Outlook, and is clean and well organized. You can use the left sidebar to change between the program's utilities, and all the details are displayed on the right hand side.

The tools included in EssentialPIM Free are easy to use, and have pretty much everything you need to organize your daily work. Schedule displays a calendar with different background colors and symbols that indicate frequency and degree of completion; Notes lets you add notes with pictures, rich-format text, tables and symbols; and with Contacts you can easily keep a list of all your friends and colleagues, with highly customizable information fields.

EssentialPIM Free does feature a large variety of options, but it's only when you take a deeper look that you realize that many of them are only available in the Pro version – which is kind of disappointing.

EssentialPIM Free is a useful application. Sadly only the Pro version has all the great scheduling options.
