Need for Speed: Most Wanted Demo-Become the most notorious

http://need-for-speed-most-wanted-demo.en.softonic.com

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a demo version of EA's popular racing video game.

If you're a huge Need for Speed addict, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is going to help satisfy your craving. Along with a trailer comes this high-speed demo with the option to play up to 8 different cars over 6 trial runs.

Street Racing

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is the tenth installment of this popular series. It features gameplay that is oriented toward street racing in Rockport City. The name of the game is avoiding veteran police officer Sergeant Cross. To do this, you have to pull out all the stops, as well as deal with other street car racers like antagonist Clarence "Razor" Callahan who seems bent on sabotaging you and stealing your wheels.

Fast for its age

Need for Speed: Most Wanted has some great car options, as well as a high-paced plot most avid gamers will appreciate. The aspect of police pursuit is also an added bonus. Since this game is a few years old, some graphics purists might decry the imagery as a bit outdated. Compared to a lot of other games in its class that were made around the same time, Need for Speed: Most Wanted still has some pretty impressive and crisp graphic designs associated with it though.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a fun demo and a must-have for any street racing enthusiast.

Download Need for Speed: Most Wanted Demo in Softonic

Need for Speed Underground 2 Demo-Fine tune your car leave the competition in the dust

http://need-for-speed-underground-2.en.softonic.com

Need for Speed Underground 2 is a demo version of a game in the popular street car racing series.

Need for Speed fans have come to expect fantastic and intense racing from the Need for Speed line, and Need for Speed Underground 2 doesn't disappoint.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is the sequel to the hugely popular Need for Speed Underground that was released in 2003. Its setting is a huge city with five unique but connected neighborhoods. There are 3 game modes in this demo. Tip off comrades about the hottest racing spots in town and foil rivals' attempts at beating you on the streets. Whatever you do, just don't end up in second place.

Need for Speed Underground 2's graphics obviously can't stand up to some of the more recent street car racing releases. In comparison, they look a little blurry and pixellated. True fans of the series will want to play all of the games though, and this one has enough intensity and excitement to perhaps make up for the weaker graphics.

Need for Speed Underground 2 is a high-speed street racing experience any car enthusiast will appreciate.

Download Need for Speed Underground 2 Demo in Softonic

Live for Speed S2 Demo-Racing simulator for hardcore drivers!

http://live-for-speed.en.softonic.com

Live for Speed is a racing game for people who like things to be difficult. There are no driving aids and no arcade modes to satisfy the casual user!

The game is pretty slick. The tutorial will take some time, and is not easy, and that's before you get to the racing. You steer with the mouse, and things like gears are on the keyboard. Mouse steering is never ideal, but the developers say if you're serious enough about driving, you'll own a steering wheel!

That is not ideal for most users, so you'll have to make do with the mouse. The graphics are pretty good, with nice vehicle models, realistic sound and good handling. What's annoying about racing is that the computer AI is too rigid. Other cars stick like glue to the racing line, and if you're out of position they won't avoid you, but push you, which often results in a spin.

This demo features 3 cars and one track, and the difficulty level means that's plenty to start off with. There has certainly been a lot of care put into Live for Speed, but unless you're a race perfectionist, you'll struggle to get to grips with it.

Live for Speed is a good looking simulator that doesn't pull its punches when it comes to being realistic.

Download Live for Speed S2 Demo in Softonic

Driving Speed 2.0.9-Great free racing game that can be played across the net

http://driving-speed.en.softonic.com

If you like your driving games real, high speed and without any kind of flashy special effects, then Driving Speed is for you.

With great handling and some impressive graphics, Driving Speed is a great driving simulation and best of all, it's for free. Of course, if you're looking for a Need For Speed clone, then look elsewhere because this game is not designed in that vein.

Driving Speed's choice of cars is limited to European or Japanese but pick of the bunch is probably the Mustang 68. The overall handling and sound are incredibly realistic for a free game of this type although be careful with the controls because it's hypersensitive to even the mildest movements.

As for Driving Speed's graphics, they're not first class but they're not terrible, and move smoothly, giving you a good sense of speed . The gameplay is simple - you have 11 opponents although you can spice things up by playing against 8 friends over the internet. The icing on the cake is that you can compare your fastest laps in Driving Speed with other racers making this a truly global game.

Racing fans looking for fast thrills and no fuss action will love Driving Speed although let's hope the developers add more circuits to it soon.

Download Driving Speed 2.0.9 in Softonic

Mercedes CLC Dream Test Drive-Take a virtual drive on a Mercedes CLC

http://mercedes-clc-dream-test-drive.en.softonic.com

If you've always dreamed of driving a Mercedes but can't afford one, this could be an intermediate solution while you're saving money.

Mercedes CLC Dream Test Drive puts you behind the steering-wheel of the awesome Mercedes CLC Coupé. The game is free though quite limited, as it only includes two gaming modes: a race against five other computer-controlled Mercedes through the streets of London and a single lap time trial against your personal best record. At least the scenarios are pretty realistic, giving you the opportunity to do some high-speed sightseeing around London or enjoy cool races at night.

The only choice of car available is obviously a Mercedes, but there are some customization options available such as changing color or getting new wheels. There are also three different difficulty levels that tailor the game to your driving skills.

That said, the truth is that Mercedes CLC Dream Test Drive is not a very fun driving game and it has some surprisingly odd characteristics, like the absence of driver or the fact that the car is not affected by crashes. In a way it feels more like an interactive ad than a real computer game, so unless you're a fan of the famous German car brand, I'd recommend downloading other driving games before this one.

Mercedes CLC Dream Test Drive is definitely a game for Mercedes fans: other people may find it too limited and a bit frustrating.

Download Mercedes CLC Dream Test Drive in Softonic

Need for Speed Shift 0018-Off the streets, and back on track?

http://need-for-speed-shift.en.softonic.com

Need For Speed Shift has arrived, and heralds a change of direction for the venerable racing series. Whereas in recent years it has found success in street racing, Need For Speed Shift goes for track racing.

This demo offers two races, and four cars to try out. There's a street circuit around London's Westminster, and a traditional circuit race track too. Don't think that because this looks like serious racing it's not a Need For Speed game any more. The presentation, with macho narration, and lots of exciting video is pure Need For Speed.

The driving model in Need For Speed Shift is more realistic than the pure arcade fun of previous outings, but it's no Gran Turismo. You can still drive agressively, and it's still arcade-like. Sliding the rear out round corners is not frowned upon! It's an odd mix - looking like a serious game and playing like Need For Speed, but as long as you accept this isn't a simulation, it's fun.

You'll need a pretty powerful PC to fully enjoy this, as even graphics settings set to low will test older machines. If your PC can handle it, it's an adrenaline filled, pumped up game with plenty to do.

Need For Speed Shift puts the series back on track, just remember that while it looks like a simulation, it definitely isn't!

Download Need for Speed Shift 0018 in Softonic

Drift City-Free online racing game with roleplaying elements

http://drift-city.en.softonic.com

If you've ever played Grand Theft Auto, then you already know what Drift City is about. This awesome online racing game lets you drive your car freely around Mittron Island and take part in different missions while enjoying some fun chat with other players around the globe.

Drift City itself takes ages to start. First you need to register as user on their website, then download the client, then download an extra installer and the necessary updates… but I assure the waiting time is really worth it. Also, Drift City is so easy to play that it makes up for it. You won't need any tutorial or similar: six keys are enough to make your car fly over the road, drift and perform incredible jumps.

The first few missions of Drift City teach you the basics of the game story and mechanics. As you complete them, you earn experience points and level up. When you reach a certain experience level, you'll be able to enter the Drift City Battle Zone: competitive online races against other players worldwide. In the meantime, you can also visit the Driver Dome and improve your car or even buy a new one with the money you earn in missions. There are always new things to do in Drift City, new people to meet and new ways to enjoy your driving experience.

Graphics in Drift City have a cell-shaded look, but follow a realistic style. You'll be able to recognize real car makes and models while driving around a city depicted with lots of detail.</b

Download Drift City in Softonic

http://need-for-speed-carbon.en.softonic.com

Need For Speed is widely acknowledged as one of the best racing series ever made and Need for Speed Carbon doesn't disappoint, with stunning style and realism.

Need for Speed Carbon is a fast and furious racing game that features both city and canyon racing environments. However, be warned that the download is huge and you'll need a good 5 minutes to let the installation take its course but after you do, you'll think it well worth it.

In this Need for Speed Carbon demo, you can adapt three main cars - a Chevy Camaro SS, Lamborghini Gallardo and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Once you are strapped in, you race with three other team mates against 4 Scorpion cars. There is a huge amount of G-Force placed on the cars as they take the bend and you'll find yourself drifting an awful lot. However, this is exactly how you earn points in Need for Speed Carbon - the more drift, the more points. It is however, almost impossible to beat the lead Scorpion car - they're just too damn quick and one mistake sees you out of the game for good.

A great racing game that has definitely been improved although Need for Speed Carbon's gameplay can be so challenging, you may want to give up easily.

Download Need for Speed Carbon in Softonic

Need for Speed ProStreet Demo-Experience the power of street racing

http://need-for-speed-prostreet.en.softonic.com

Fast cars, hot girls and loud music are the main ingredients of the Need for Speed series, which comes back again with new frantic races. This time, however, you'll test your driving abilities in special tracks around the world, instead of the usual city streets.

The game features incredibly realistic cars based on real models and depicted with lots of detail. They look so real that you will feel bad if you get the lightest scratch on them. In fact, this is another new feature: the improved realism in Need for Speed races means that scratches, dents and crash are also more realistic and you can end out of race because you just destroyed your brand new BMW.

Need for Speed ProStreet lets you choose between three difficulty levels, which makes it a game suitable for all ages. On the downside, racing can get a bit repetitive, because these new tracks lack all the excitement and adrenaline found in "real" street racing, like in the previous NFS titles.

BMW M3 Challenge 1.0-Drive the new BMW Coupé around the Nürburgring

http://bmw-m3-challenge.en.softonic.com

Since the wheels fell off my 1987 Nissan Sunny, I've been looking around for a new motor to impress the chicks, but so far none have quite matched up to my old dream machine.

After hunting for about three years, the new BMW M3 looks like it might finally fit the bill for me. I'd heard rave reviews about the gorgeous Coupé and was keen to see how it handled.

Rather than take a real life test drive and run the risk of ending up either side of a brick wall, I simply installed the M3 Challenge, which puts you in the driving seat of BMW's new carriage.

The car has been beautifully rendered in computer format, and you customise it by choosing from a range of colours. All of the characteristics of the actual car have been meticulously recreated from the inside to the exterior, and the animation is very smooth, provided you have a powerful enough processor.

The action takes place at the famous Nürburgring track, which has also been faithfully reproduced for the game. The sound is also amazing, and the roar of the M3's engine makes you feel like you're actually in the vehicle.

Of course, it's important to remember that this game is basically an advert for a car, and as a result you only get one car to choose from.

However, it's very rare that you find a free driving game as accomplished as this one, and with extra features such as ABS and traction control, and a multiplayer mode, it may even keep me amused long enough to save up for a real M3.

Download BMW M3 Challenge 1.0 in Softonic

Race Driver: GRID Demo-Take part in action-packed races all over the world

http://race-driver-grid.en.softonic.com

Feel like taking part in exciting races all over the world? Then Race Driver: GRID is definitely the game you're looking for.

This amazing game lets you join different racing events in several locations across three continents, always challenging you in various ways: drifting along the streets of a Japanese urban cirtuit, taking part in the DTM series or racing in the Daytona track with a powerful NASCAR vehicle, just to mention the three possibilities made available in the game's demo.

No matter which option you choose, you'll get a glimpse of the game's breath-taking graphics. Cars are designed with such an impressive level of detail that I'm starting to wonder if there's any room left for further improvements in this field. The physics are also faithful to reality, so you better learn fast how to control your car if you don't want to eat all the curves in the track.

Race Drive: GRID includes several camera modes, including one from the inside of the car that shows up loads of details and even changes all the sounds of the game. Another amazing option is the possibility to go back to race after smashing your car by replaying your last few movements before the crash and trying to correct your path.

The Race Drive: GRID demo features the three aforementioned races plus a multiplayer option, which I had some problems to test but finally managed to make it work. My advice though is that you get a bit of training before you try your luck on multiplayer races: it's all full of master players out there.

Though a bit difficult to control at first, Race Drive: GRID is a highly realistic racing game with an interesting multiplayer option that's going to please all motor fans for sure.

Download Race Driver: GRID Demo in Softonic

Sega Rally Revo-The arcade classic returns for 2007

http://sega-rally-revo.en.softonic.com

If there's one game that's defined my career in the arcades then it's Sega Rally. Ever since I was in short trousers I've been destroying my friends at the wheel of one of the most fun racing games in history. Now, Sega has decided to update its classic to give the kids of today taste of what they've been missing. In fact, it's more than just a taste. It's a huge helping of juicy action, succulent graphics and tasty tracks.

I've always preferred Sega Rally to other rally games like the Colin McRae series or even Gran Turismo because I find it much easier to pick up and play. You don't need to wade through loads of options, spend time configuring your car, or perform endless tests and training. No, you just pick up the controller, hit accelerate and feel the burn. It's as fast as lightning and you'll find it easy to soar past your rivals at the start. Like all good games, once you're hooked on that winning feeling, things start to get a bit harder and the inclusion of three different championships to progress through makes this one that you'll be playing for a long time.

I always remember Sega Rally being the game that everyone in the arcades stands and watches for ages, and I reckon this was always down to its eye-catching graphics. Visually, Revo is the most stunning version of the game to date and the graphics engine means you feel every bump in the tarmac, blade of grass or sand dune. The motion is slick and the tracks and backgrounds make you feel like you're actually there. I was a bit disappointed that there are only three courses for each terrain (backwards and forwards) but they're so much fun that you can't help go back for more.

This is quite simply the best version of Sega Rally in history. It's quick, challenging, looks great, and a whole lot of fun. I defy you not to enjoy it.

Download Sega Rally Revo in Softonic

http://volvo-the-game.en.softonic.com

Volvo have never had the exciting racing image of companies like Ferrari, but with Volvo - The Game, they are trying to show that you can be a speed freak and drive a Volvo.

This free racing game features a collection of Volvos for you to race around two circuits. There are three racing modes - quick race, time attack and competition.

We couldn't get the competition mode to connect - it has an online element, but the other two worked fine.
Many control systems are supported, as well as keyboard.

There are lots of difficulty settings, so it can be as realistic as you want it to be. Even on the easiest settings it's a tough game to win, though.

It plays like a simulation, and although you can set your opponents abilities, the only thing that they do poorly is recover from spins. Knock an opponent into a spin, and you won't hear from them for some time!

Graphically Volvo the Game is great for a free game, but a little behind the polish of recent commercial efforts. However, it's good enough, the sound is good and it provides a solid racing experience.

<v>Who thought Volvos could be exciting?
http://juiced-2.en.softonic.com

This is is not any racing game. It's mainly addressed to all those tunning fans who like to customize their cars to the limits. Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights makes their dreams come true by providing them with a game where winning race is as important as having the most personalized car.

The idea behind Juiced 2 is to take part in races and contests all over the world, winning prizes and improving your reputation in order to earn money and use it to customize your car with new pieces, painting, decals and so on. The full game includes up to 350 pieces that can end up completely changing your car's look.

The game is easy to control, which makes it fun for those who aren't that fond of racing games, but may be boring for expert drivers who are probably expecting some more realism. In any case, the game's graphics in depicting cars and racing environments - Roma, Paris, London, San Francisco and other important cities - are simply breath-taking.

Customize your car to the extreme and take part in exciting races all over the world.

Download Juiced 2 Hot Import Nights Demo in Softonic

Real Race-Challenge your driving skills in this free racing sim

http://real-race.en.softonic.com

Real Race doesn't really live up to its title. The game does have realistic graphics, in the sense that it doesn't use cartoon-style cars like, let's say, Mario Kart. But they're not certainly what I would call "real" graphics: crashes don't have any effect on your vehicle and the cars' designs don't display a high level of detail.

Despite these minor flaws, Real Race is a fun game. There's a wide variety of cars and tracks to choose from, the majority of which are locked at the beginning of the game. It's also very easy to play, in fact, sometimes it feels it's just too easy.

Besides trying to win the race, the bonus items spread along the track spice it up a bit. However, we missed the possibility to play against other human opponents, either sharing the PC or over the Internet.

Download Real Race in Softonic

Need for Speed: ProStreet Porsche Edition Demo-Try the new Need for Speed on a Porsche

http://need-for-speed-prostreet-porsche.en.softonic.com

Even if you don't like cars, I'm sure you'd love to drive a Porsche, at least once in your life. Here at Softonic we don't have a Porsche giveaway included in our budget, but at least we can provide you with a racing game where you can experiment how it feels to drive a Porsche – that is, a virtual one.

The Need for Speed: ProStreet Porsche Edition demo puts you behind the wheel of a genuine Porsche sports car and challenges you to race against other pilots in the Porsche's testing track in Leipzig. You can choose between two models (GT2 and GT3RS) and select between different levels of difficulty, which makes the game suitable even for the driving-challenged.

Graphics are as spectacular as you expect them to be in the NFS series. The extraordinary level of detail in cars enables you to see images reflected on their shiny bodywork. Physics are faithfully reproduced, both in the car's movements and in object reaction when hitting against any obstacle on the road – not that I'm a bad driver, it was just for testing purposes.

Though the demo may feel too short (only the two aforementioned cars in two different tracks) the game is quite enjoyable, thanks to a realistic speed sensation and the constant desire to be the fastest pilot on track.

With Need for Speed: ProStreet Porsche Edition you can experience all the sensations produced by driving a Porsche at top speed – only for a short period of time, though.

Download Need for Speed: ProStreet Porsche Edition Demo in Softonic

European Street Racing Demo-Drive as fast as you can through the major European cities

http://european-street-racing.en.softonic.com

Racing at top speed through the streets of the most important European cities is probably not the best way to do some tourism, but it certainly gives you a rush of adrenaline.

European Street Racing is mainly aimed at all those car tuning fans who dream of disputing dangerous high-speed races along city streets and roads. Well, this game makes your dream come true without hurting anybody, nor ending up in jail. You'll be able to race against one or more competitors, controlled either by AI or by other players around the world in the multiplayer mode, while enjoying a highly detailed scenario set in London, Madrid, Paris or Berlin, to name a few. As you progress through the game, you'll earn money to pimp up your car or maybe buy a new one.

The speed sensation is very realistic too, but at the same time the car is easy to control. Bear in mind that besides trying to win the race, you must avoid all sorts of obstacles, including other people's cars on your way. This only makes the game more challenging and fun, especially when trying to pass by obstacles as closely as possible. On the downside, I didn't have the opportunity to test multiplayer races, as there were no Internet servers online.

Download European Street Racing Demo in Softonic
