Audition Online-Dance like nobody's watching!

http://audition-online.en.softonic.com

Dancing games are quickly growing in popularity among gamers all over the world and for different platforms, PC included. If you already got through all levels in Dance! Online, Audition Online is another opportunity for you to feel the beat.

Audition Online lets you dance to the rhythm of many varied songs, either following a given chart of movements or letting your imagination fly in the "freestyle" mode. You can dance by yourself or join other players to dance with or against them. In fact, the game has a very important social component which helps in making it even more addictive. It lets you chat with other players while dancing and also has an embedded IM client.

Audition Online doesn't display high-quality graphics, but it's nicely designed, with colorful, fun characters and dancing environments. Movements take a little training, but as you only need the four arrow keys and the space bar, you'll soon be crazily dancing on your screen.

Download Audition Online in Softonic

League of Legends 0.9.25.21-Free multiplayer action strategy

http://league-of-legends.en.softonic.com

Tower Defense games have been big this year, probably reaching their purest peak with PopCap's Plants Vs Zombies. Combine the basic defense idea with fantasy and MMORPGs (Massively multiplayer online Role playing games), and you get League of Legends, a multiplayer online strategy game.

With an isometric view, League of Legends is played online in two teams of five. Each team has a base, surrounded by a lots of protective turrets. Outside that area is the opposing team's area. Every player controls a Champion, of which there are various kinds. These are supported by spawning minions who accompany players on their journeys, and take most of the damage too. League of Legends is controlled via keyboard and mouse and is pretty simple, although there are lots of spells and special attacks for you to utilize during the game, which make it more complex.

The aim of League of Legends is to battle through enemy minions, destroying enough defense turrets to create a path to the enemy 'ancient'. Once that is destroyed, you win the game. Sounds simple enough! However, while it's simple to pick up, and addictive too, games of League of Legends take a long time.

The defense turrets aren't easy to destroy, even without enemy attackers, so it's an achievement to manage one. The more you play, the more experience you gain, which gives you access to more spells and strength, which make all the difference in a game. If your team is a little weaker then defeat may feel certain, even though it takes ages!

League of Legends looks good, with an attractive yet clear style, similar to World of Warcraft (but not in 3D). The sound is well done and really professional, making League of Legends a fantastic free game, one of the most polished you will play.

League of Legends is a compelling multiplayer Tower Defense game, but can eat up hours of your life if you're not careful!

Download League of Legends 0.9.25.21 in Softonic

Audiosurf 1.19.08 Beta-Ride your own music collection!

http://audiosurf.en.softonic.com

Audiosurf is an original racing/music game that mixes your tracks with futuristic racing circuits and puzzles.

Music is the main drive of Audiosurf as the soundtrack is truly your own - literally! The songs that are played throughout the game are taken from your hard drive, but you have to hit the right notes and bricks to trigger them to play in your spaceship. The variety of tracks is therefore endless and of course, since it's your music, you'll love the soundtrack.

Once Audiosurf begins, you guide your ship left and right with the mouse or cursor. Your aim to is hit and trap as many blocks as possible. The more you hit of the same color, the more music you hear and the more points you get. Graphically, Audiosurf is a bit basic, although at least there are plenty of circuits to race on. In fact, no track is ever the same because they are created in real time depending on which one you've chosen.

Audiosurf is a fun and original game that will appeal to music lovers, puzzle fans and racing fanatics alike.

Download Audiosurf 1.19.08 Beta in Softonic

Team Fortress 2 2.1.0-Excellent free online multiplayer shooter from Valve

http://team-fortress-2.en.softonic.com

Team Fortress 2 is a free online competitive multiplayer first person shooter (FPS), defined by it's great range of character classes, and excellently balanced gameplay.

With its cartoon style graphics, Team Fortress 2 looks good for a three year old game. These visuals have another great advantage over more realistic styles - you can see very clearly what's going on, and other players don't blend into scenery at a distance. Graphics are so clear that you can even easily distinguish character classes from a distance, helping you to decide how to act.

There are nine classes in Team Fortress 2. In Offense you have Scout, Soldier and Pyro. Defense has the Demoman, Heavy and Engineer classes, while the Support group features Medic, Sniper and the Spy. There is great variety between them all, and they are all great fun to learn. There are four types of Team Fortress 2 game - capture the flag, control point, payload and arenas. Each type gives you different objectives and feels, which adds to the huge amount of content this free to play title has on offer.

Gameplay is fast, the controls are tight and accurate, and there are a ton of customizations to play around with. The cartoon violence in Team Fortress 2 makes it a much lighter experience than more macho titles like Call of Duty, while it's still really competitive and skill based.

Team Fortress 2 is extremely popular, and deservedly so. Now it's free and cross platform, there's no excuse not to get involved!

Download Team Fortress 2 2.1.0 in Softonic

MapleStory-Gripping yet simple online role playing game

http://maplestory.en.softonic.com

MapleStory is an incredibly popular MMORPG that sets you and your quests in a fantasy land, defeating monsters and collaborating with other players in real time.

Online role playing games are springing up everywhere these days, but novice gamers are often put off playing them due to the overwhelming number of options and complicated controls. However, the difference with MapleStory is that it is unbelievably simple to pick up and play.

The MapleStory missions are very easy to understand and the 2D side-scrolling gameplay makes a fresh change from the usual role players. Best of all, the controls are very straightforward and you'll need nothing more than the cursor keys and two more keys. These control keys can be customized very easily just by dragging and dropping icons onto the appropriate key on screen.

The cutesy Japanese cartoon-style graphics may not be to everyone's liking but we reckon they're gorgeous and help to make MapleStory a fantastic alternative to the run-of-the-mill MMORPGs.

MapleStory is a rich, detailed MMORPG that is perfect for beginners and experts alike.

Download MapleStory in Softonic

Second Life 2.7.4.235167-Live an entirely new life in a virtual world

http://second-life.en.softonic.com

Second Life is a 3-D virtual world that's entirely built and owned by its residents. It's incredibly vast, lots of fun to be in and very, very addictive.

Since going live in 2003, Second Life has been enormously popular and the developers Linden Labs claim that over 5 million people worldwide now happily call it home. To get started with Second Life, you have to sign-up for an account which is quick and simple. You have to choose a first and last name (which in the end, I had to select from a pre-defined list as it wouldn't accept my suggestion for some reason) and what you'd like your Avatar to look like. Confirm your e-mail and you're ready to go.

The great thing is Second Life is that it is free to use which means you can basically wander about and chat to people as much as you want. However, after signing up, you are offered the chance to upgrade to the Premium version which gives you your own 3D house, Virtual Currency to spend and access to adult 18+ areas as long as you are over 18, of course.

From the moment you enter the World, you'll be overwhelmed by the sheer number of possibilities and worlds on offer. To get you started, there's a mini 6-step course which allows you to master the basics like walking, sitting and yes, flying. You also learn to chat to people via a simple IM chat client although some worlds also support voice chats. I heartily recommend the Quick Start guide though which opens in your browser to help you get to grips with the game more easily than walking around randomly is doing it the hard way.

The sheer size of Second Life is amazing. You're surrounded by not only thousands of virtual worlds but also people eager to shat to you. You can teleport yourself to a new world simply by clicking on it on a map. The unique thing is, because residents retain the legal rights to their digital creations, they can buy, sell and trade with other residents although this is only possible in the Premium version. The developers claim the Marketplace currently supports millions of US dollars in monthly transactions which is handled with the in-world unit-of-trade, the Linden dollar, which can be converted to US dollars at several online Linden Dollar exchanges.

Although some users complain that Second Life can be sluggish, I had absolutely no problems. However, it does require some serious hardware and the developers recommend at least 1GB of RAM and a high-end processor for best results. However, it did log me off automatically saying that "demand was particularly strong in my area" so be aware that the servers may not be stable.

Second Life is an amazing accomplishment. If you're willing to invest the time needed to master the basics, you'll soon get sucked into Second Life's virtual world of unending possibilities.

Download Second Life 2.7.4.235167 in Softonic

Travian 3.6-Roman era online multiplayer resource management

http://travian.en.softonic.com

Travian is a free to play online multiplayer strategy game. The goal is to manage your resources well enough to expand your territory while fending off other attacking players.

Travian is not an action game, but a resource management game that requires a lot of waiting, and ideally is played for a while here and there during a day. You begin by choosing one of three classes of people. Gauls are best at defending and are faster, Teutons are better fighters and Romans are pretty well balanced.

During the first few hours of playing Travian all you will do is slowly increase your resources around your village. Every action has a time cost - so if you want to improve agricultural land, that will cost you 3 minutes, and so on. Once your resources have improved, you can use them to build buildings and expand the village, an eventually construct barracks and armies, so you can explore and fight other villages.

Travian is presented in non-animated, hand drawn style graphics. They are functional. The tutorial is useful for teaching you the ropes, as without it Travian makes little sense!

Like many online management games, Travian features a lot of waiting. However, if you want something you can play quickly in the background every so often, it can get addictive.

Download Travian 3.6 in Softonic

Air Rivals 1.0.0.35-Massively multiplayer aerial combat

http://air-rivals.en.softonic.com

Air Rivals is a Manga-styled action orientated massively multiplayer online game, which mixes traditional RPG features with aerial dog-fighting.

To begin with you have to register, and click on a conformation email, and then you're ready to go. There is a comprehensive tutorial to get you going, which teaches you all of the basics. After that you're set free in a lobby, where you can buy upgrades for your craft. There are different classes of 'gear' as the ships are called, and you just choose the type you prefer. Hitting take off sends you up into the air.

To level up, as in most MMORPGs, you kill things! To start with, flying around and targeting any of the flying monsters or enemy craft will gain you experience points. Every so often you need to visit a base to refuel, but they are never too far away. The combat in Air Rivals is more exciting than in many MMORPGs, as you are not simply battling with your stats, but real time dog-fighting. Still, to fight against the best opponents you'll need to have levelled up quite a lot. choose a nation to ally with, and get involved in missions and the long war of defeating the opposing civilization.

This is not the most attractive game in the world, but a twitch-action based MMORPG is a welcome change, and it's free to play, which is great. There is a fairly big community of players, so it's easy after a while to get involved in big battles with hundreds of fighting 'gear'.

Manga Fighter-Multi-player online battles for kids

http://manga-fighter.en.softonic.com

Manga Fighter is a multiplayer third person shooter for kids. Unlike most games of this genre, there's no blood, and there are no soldiers, just brightly colored cute Manga style characters.

To play you have to sign up for a free account, which is really easy, and download the game client. The initial download is only 180MB, but when you load the client it will download a lot more. How long this takes of course depends on your internet connection speed, but expect at least ten minutes of downloading.

The game itself is much like any online game - you choose a character from a list and off you go. Each character model has slightly different attributes, but none are better overall than the others. In the game lobby you choose what type of game you want to play - the usual range of modes exist, from death-match, team death-match and variants on capture the flag.

The arenas are colorful, and well designed. Manga Fighter runs smoothly, with only occasional glitches. Movement is just like any shooter - keys for movement, mouse for looking and shooting. The problem with Manga Fighting comes from the extras you can pay for - if you buy credits you can upgrade your character - but this makes some games really unbalanced. If you have "noob" (new player) weapons, no amount of skill will help against a better armed Manga Fighter. This doesn't ruin the game, as there are plenty of new players around to compete with, you just have to put up with being unfairly killed sometimes.

In terms of being for kids, while it's true there's no blood or gore, it's still based on running around shooting players, so some parents may feel it's still too violent.

Manga Fighter is an enjoyable and easy to play multiplayer shooter, but playing against more powerful competitors feels unfair.

Download Manga Fighter in Softonic

Penguins Arena 1.3-The first ever First Penguin Shooter!

http://penguins-arena.en.softonic.com

Penguins Arena is an enjoyable first person shooter (FPS) with good game play.

In this playful FPS, as a penguin fighting for his tribe's supremacy over the world, you'll have to eliminate all the other penguins, throwing snowballs at them to push them off the island and into the shark ridden waters. Each level is a different island with hills, ice walls and holes.

The game play is pretty intuitive. You use your keyboard to move around and jump and the mouse to shoot. You'll see all the action from the penguin's perspective, which really immerses you in the game. To survive you'll not only have to dodge the other penguins' snowballs but also pick up the bonuses that get scattered around. As you'll advance through the game more weapons , such as bombs, claws or clownfishes will also be available.

The only weak point to the game is the multiplayer mode. When we actually could manage to find other players to fight against, the game crashed, in what seemed to be a memory issue.

An original plot, great game play and lots of bonuses make for a perfect arcade success. It's a shame online play doesn't work well.

Download Penguins Arena 1.3 in Softonic

World of Tanks Beta 0.6.7 US Servers-Free online multiplayer Tank warfare

http://world-of-tanks-us.en.softonic.com

World of Tanks is a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG). Buy and collect and develop tanks, then take them into online battles. Free to play, and lots of fun if you can invest enough time into it!

The basic game is a capture the flag battle, between two teams of tanks. World of Tanks has six classes of tank, from Light to Heavy and Destroyer tanks from the USSR, Germany and the USA. Taking part in battles earns you experience, which you can spend on research to improve your tanks and get new ones.

When you enter a battle, there will be a range of tanks on the field. A World of Tanks game lasts 15 minutes, unless one side wins before that. Your game will last as long as you survive - there is no re-spawning in World of Tanks. If your tank is destroyed, you can leave the game and enter another with a different tank. You will still gain experience points. This helps to alleviate the frustration that new players will experience when being blown up by bigger, more experienced tanks!

World of Tanks is a great idea, and for the most part it's done very well. However, the game is very dry and serious, and the interface is quite intimidating to begin with. Battles are fun, but playing against much stronger players can be annoying. If you live in Europe, you should download the EU version, <taglink type="program" country="en" id="317324">available here</taglink>.

With some time investment, World of Tanks can be a lot of fun.
Metal Drift Demo-Futuristic sport for tanks!

http://metal-drift.en.softonic.com

Metal Drift is a futuristic multiplayer motorsport game. You play in two teams of up to 6 players, and the idea is to collect a metal ball with your hover tank, and take it to the opposition's goal.

There are 5 arenas to race around in your hover tank, which is equipped with a turret and weapons, as well as a boost button. The view is first person, and you have a radar at boost power bars in your hud. Controls are a mix of keyboard and mouse, and will be familiar to anyone who's played a first person shooter before. For newcomers, it might take a while to get to grips with, but it's simple enough.

The graphics are nice and clean, if a little generic looking. However, as soon as you start, driving the tank is really satisfying. The way it moves, the physics model and especially the sound effects make it genuinely pleasing. You can play online, or with computer bots.

The games are a bit hectic, and take some getting used to. Tanks aren't incredibly quick, and as you gain boost by destroying the opposition if you find yourself outside the action, it's a pain to get back in. The boost reward system means success makes you faster - great when you're good at it, less when you're not. Metal Drift is much better in multiplayer, as playing with computer bots feels a bit lifeless.

Metal Drift is certainly fun for a while, but it won't last unless you can play with friends online.

Download Metal Drift Demo in Softonic
