You can set the program to random mode or "one-by-one". Random obviously means that wallpapers are picked to appear in a random order while "one-by-one" selects them in the order of your choice. When a wallpaper has changed, the program settings automatically pop up from the taskbar which can be annoying but it disappears after a few seconds if you don't use it.

Overall, this is a simple and useful program for anyone who gets bored of their wallpaper on a regular basis.

Wallpaper Master offers a number of options to renew your desktop background image. Create categories to organize your wallpapers and order your different images in a list on the interface. Individual Overrides, like style, alignment or border can be modified directly from the program window. Images can also be set up on multiple monitors in one click.

Despite a good deal of options, we were slightly disappointed with Wallpaper Master. There's no drag and drop, which means you have to browse and select all the pictures you want to use as wallpapers. The effects you can add to them, mirror, black and white and mosaic, are fairly limited and do not add much to your images.

Once you chosen the image you'll use as wallpapers and set up the rotation you can let Wallpaper Master take care of the rest. The program could be a bit more intuitive and offer more effects, but on the whole is a good piece of software to manage your wallpapers.

If you're so lazy that you don't even feel like changing your desktop wallpaper then this program is for you. WallUp takes care of the hard task of renewing the wallpaper according to the frequency you set in the program's configuration options.

WallUp has a simple design and also works in a very simple way. It enables you to create separate albums, each one with its own pictures, so that you have a really wide choice of wallpapers. Unlike other similar applications, it seems that WallUp can't be minimized to the system tray so I don't really know if it should be left open or closed anyway.

I also felt disappointed when trying to test the custom screensaver feature explained by the author on his website: I couldn't find it anywhere and the Help section wasn't useful either.

WallAgent is a Wallpaper Changer which changes your desktop wallpaper automatically like a slideshow or desktop changer. You can select wallpapers from either a remote server or your own computer. To take the hassle out of it, it's best to use auto mode which means that WallAgent will select a category and download all wallpapers for your desktop. The problem with this is that the quality can be very dodgy as it doesn't seem to discriminate between resolutions.

It's really nice though to be able to set your own photos such as holiday trips or family celebrations and watch them roll. It also has a very good looking Vista style skin which gives it an extra touch of class. Although it uses few system resources, I did find it very slow to respond however when I wanted to use the computer. Overall though, much less hassle than having to change your desktop background all the time.

The AWC allows you to change your desktop wallpaper on a timed basis. The time between changes is defined as a number of seconds, minutes or hours. The displayed image can be stretched for the best fit to the screen, optionally maintaining its aspect ratio, or displayed at its actual size.

In Windows versions after Windows 98, when displaying a picture the user is not limited to the centre of the screen, as is usually the case in Windows, but can choose to display the picture in any of the four corners of the screen or centred on one of the edges.
