Each book entry in All My Books features all the information you need about it, from the cover to the year of publication, including also author, summary, genre, rating and ISBN. All this information can be conveniently extracted from several online resources, such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powells and Bol.

All My Books includes many other tools that make it a great app to manage your books. You can track loans, see statistics about your favorite genres, export a list of your books to various formats, and password protect the database, among other tasks.

On the downside, All My Books is not as ebook-ready as other book managers we’ve tried, such as Calibre. It doesn’t let you import whole folders and doesn’t have support for ebook readers.

With bookTome you can easily turn your chaotic personal library into a perfectly organized book database with a thorough entry for each one. Don't worry about filling in all those fields: you can import them from Amazon UK, just by entering the title and author of each book.

bookTome lets you browse your collection by author, series or reading status – yes, you can mark books as "currently reading" and "already read". There's also a built-in engine for more refined searches and a wish list tool, though the latter doesn't seem to work properly.

Once you've created your book database with bookTome, you can export it to web format or a CSV file. Being such a complete application, it's surprising it doesn't have such a basic feature as a loan manager.

This simply but impressive program allows you to browse through your collection from the comfort of your PC enabling you to share and rediscover old titles that had since been consigned to a dusty bookshelf.

You can order your books by author, title, publisher, year or cover art. The clever thing however is that you don't need to scan in any of the cover art - it downloads everything you need from a database simply by using the ISBN number.

You can include personal details like purchase date, store, location, whether you've read-it as well as catalogue chapter lists, characters and book creator credits.

In addition, the program links book entries to e-book or audio-book files. In addition to downloading cover art, it downloads a quick synopsis of each book which is great for writing reviews or sharing titles with a friend.

The only thing lacking maybe is something to save your favourite quotes or pages in and possible a link to the publisher's site for the author's latest releases.
