If you're standing on a freezing bus stop in need of some heat, then you could always warm your cockles with a mobile phone theme.
This one is perfect because it recreates a roaring log fire on your Windows Mobile Smartphone.

The theme adorns your Today screen with a series of flames licking up from the bottom of the screen in front of a black background. The flames are very realistic and certainly add a warm glow to your phone.

Besides this background image the theme also alters the menus and toolbars within the Windows Mobile OS. When you launch the Start menu a new background is displayed behind your program icons, consisting of a series of red stripes fading across a white backdrop.

I guess it's quite stylish, but the gradient is a little crude and, for me, the jump from white to red is a little crude.
Nevertheless, this theme provides a nice way of warming up your mobile.

Download Flames Theme in Softonic

http://peace-theme.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

I don't know about you but I love peace. Fighting is just such a waste of energy, and while peace can be more boring, it's definitely a lot more relaxing.

This Windows Smartphone theme helps you celebrate the pursuit of chilling out by changing the background image and menu styles. The wallpaper is very colourful and screams peace, depicting a lush yellow field on a summer's day.

The menu and toolbar skins are based around the classic XP style and make for a nice change of scenery.
Carbone Theme 1.00-Make your phone look like a sports car dashboard

http://carbone-theme.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

If you're a bit of a motor-head then perhaps you should give the Carbone Theme a try.

Carbone Theme changes the styling of the home screen on your Windows Mobile Smartphone to mirror a sports car's dashboard. After installing both the Carbone theme file and the digital clock file, a new background will appear on your phone.

The main image consists of a large clock designed like a speedometer with three smaller dials at the side, giving you access to information such as new SMS messages and missed calls. The graphics themselves aren't rendered particularly well and the Carbone Theme does look distinctly like a home-made effort rather than a well-oiled machine.

However, if you like cars then the Carbone Theme is sure to please.

Download Carbone Theme 1.00 in Softonic

Pointui Home 2.1.06 c-Make your Smartphone look like an iPhone

http://pointui-home.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

Don't get me wrong, I think the Windows Mobile platform is awesome but, like many people, I find it a little cumbersome sometimes and the fact that I have to fumble around with tiny icons can sometimes end up getting me down.

Pointui Home is designed to change all that, skinning the Windows Mobile interface to make it easy to control the basic functions of your device.

In order to achieve this Pointui Home uses a kind of 'shuffle' system, not too dissimilar to the iPhone. It means that you can navigate your operating system using finger swipes, making the whole process of using your handheld much more intuitive and more enjoyable to boot.

From the main window in Pointui Home you can make calls, access email and text messaging, and manage and control the functions of the media player. Certain elements of Windows Mobile have been completely reskinned, including the phone app, which gives a more of an iPhone feel to the call log. Other tools such as calendar and tasks haven't been reskinned but they are now easier to access.

What's more, the system settings are now right at your fingertips, rather than buried below a series of menus on your Smartphone.

If you're fed up of the somewhat cumbersome Windows Mobile environment, Pointui offers a very interesting alternative that imitates the feel of the iPhone.

Download Pointui Home 2.1.06 c in Softonic

The Dark Knight Theme-Batman comes to your Smartphone

http://the-dark-knight-theme.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

Although The Dark Knight movie has had mixed reviews, Batman remains one of our most loved superheroes. The Dark Knight Theme brings the caped crusader to your Smartphone.

Installing the Dark Knight Theme on your device takes a little fiddling around. You need to extract the 'Shadow' folder to your PC, sync your Smartphone then copy the files into the 'Home' folder under 'Application data'. Once this is done you're ready for the Dark Knight Theme.

At the heart of the Dark Knight Theme is an image of Batman looking all mean and moody. It also adds a series of home screen icons, although these don't really seem to have any relevance to the movie.

Fans of the movie will love the Dark Knight Theme, although it's not the most attractive Windows Mobile skin around.

Download The Dark Knight Theme in Softonic

Homescreen Designer (SP)-Smarten up your smartphone with this theme designer

http://homescreen-designer.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

Homescreen Designer makes it easy to create attractive, original themes for Windows Mobile Smartphones. The program lets you add your own background image, select which 'plugin' elements appear on your Home screen (e.g. email, calendar, network info etc), and even change system notification windows. The home screens we created in the trial version of the software were of high quality and weren't watermarked by the program at all.

The only real problem with the program is that it uses an unconventional design which makes its interface quite ugly and fairly hard to work with. I never understand why software developers feel the need to come up with non-standard window borders, menu bars and so on when the default options are already very easy to use. The program also lacks a help system, though the 'readme.htm' file does include a basic manual.

Homescreen Designer is a good choice if you're interested in customising your phone. It's only let down by its design which renders it less intuitive than it might have been.

Download Homescreen Designer (SP) in Softonic

Lightning-A shocking theme for your Smartphone

http://lightning.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

There are few things more impressive in nature than a really big storm. If you're a fan of extreme weather then you'll love this Lightning theme.

The theme adds an impressive background to your home screen, featuring several forks of lighting hitting the ground amid a moody purple sky. It also changes the top and bottom status bars on your Windows Mobile system, as well as the menu color schemes. Unfortunately, when selecting options from a menu it places a black highlight bar over the option you are hovering over.

Apart from this issue, the Lightning theme makes for an electrifying new Smartphone skin.

Download Lightning in Softonic

Lazyday Theme-Take yourself away to a paradise beach

http://lazyday-theme.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

If you're not going away on holiday this summer don't worry because you can recreate the feel of being on vacation with the Lazyday Theme.

Alright, so maybe it won't feel exactly like you were on holiday, but the Lazyday Theme might make for a good summery skin for your Windows Mobile Smartphone. The theme adds a tranquil image of a paradise beach to your home screen. The deep blue sky and the crystal clear water really does put you in the summer mood.

The Lazyday Theme removes all the menu items from the home screen to give over the whole display to the wallpaper image. Important items such as Settings, Mail, and Internet Explorer are moved to a tiny icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. They can be scrolled through using the directional buttons on your handset. Unfortunately, the icons are very small, so long-sighted users may struggle somewhat to see the options.

The date and time displays are retained on the home screen, although they look somewhat out of place floating around in the sky. I would have preferred it if the time and date display was themed in some way to match the image, or at least moved away from the middle of the screen.

If you're dreaming of an island getaway, Lazyday Theme will at least take you someway there. Unfortunately, it renders the WM home screen a bit unusable.

Download Lazyday Theme in Softonic

YingYang LCD-Japanese-style theme with a tiger and dragon

http://yingyang-lcd.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

If you're a fan of tigers, dragons and Japanese symbols then YingYang LCD could be the download for you.

The theme features an image of a tiger and a dragon wrestling with a ying and yang symbol as the main background wallpaper. I'm not really sure what the symbolism of this is - to me it just looks like something someone would have tattooed on their back.

The tiger/dragon image in YingYang LCD is set against a black background with some gold bars running across it. Unfortunately, this background obscures some of the data on the home screen, such as network provider, messages, and application shortcuts.

YingYang LCD also tweaks some of the other Windows Mobile settings, altering the color scheme of the menus to a gray, red and white affair.

I couldn't decide if YingYang LCD was cool, or just a bit gaudy. Either way, it makes for a striking theme for your Smartphone.

Download YingYang LCD in Softonic

The Web-Abstract theme for your Smartphone

http://the-web.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

If you fancy a bit of a change from the default Smartphone theme but want to stick with a dark blue background then you might want to install The Web.

This abstract theme adds a curious yet captivating background wallpaper to your Windows Mobile device. I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to represent but it looks like a futuristic ball caught in a futuristic web in some futuristic world. Anyway the colors are nice and it facilitates simple viewing of the elements on your home screen.

The Web also makes some other changes to the Windows Mobile interface. For starters it adds a neat chrome effect to the top and bottom status bars, which compliments the background pretty well. One thing I didn't like though was the way the menu highlight bar has been changed to solid black, meaning that whenever you highlight a menu option you can't actually read it. Somewhat of a design oversight I think you'll agree.

If only for its eye-catching wallpaper, The Web is still a theme that's worth trying out.

Download The Web in Softonic

This time of year isn't all bad though, as this theme proves. The Late Autumn Theme reminds you of just how pretty this season can be. It adds an attractive background for your home screen, which features a forest of golden leaves and a sparkling lake.
Space Balls 1.0-Save your planet from colored balls!

http://space-balls.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

First up, if you were expecting Space Balls to be based on the classic Mel Brooks movie of the same name, I'm afraid this one isn't. Don't go away just yet though, because you'll still be able to have fun.

The aim of Space Balls is to defend your little planet from relentless hoards of colored balls that try to encircle you. To do this you need to fire your own colored balls at them from a rotatable cannon. If you can make a line of four or more balls of the same color then these balls will disappear and set the whole pack of invaders back a bit.

Space Balls is one of those games that are very simple to control yet can become impossibly difficult to master. You do get help, in the form of a meter that shows you which color ball is next to be fired, but after a while the action becomes so fast that it's impossible to keep up. This is even the case on the easiest of the three difficulty settings.

As for the graphics in Space Balls, they're bright and well drawn with a real 3D look to the balls. I was a bit disappointed with the irritating music, but luckily you can turn this off.

You might find Space Balls gets a bit repetitive after a few levels, but it's still a great time-waster to play on the bus.

Download Space Balls 1.0 in Softonic

http://santa-and-gifts-theme.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile

If you think that by trimming your tree, decking the halls, and sending off your cards you're ready for Christmas then think again. You aren't truly in festive mode until you've kitted out your phone with a Yuletide theme.

The Santa and Gifts Theme represents an amusing way to skin your Smartphone during the festive period. It includes a background image featuring a cartoon Santa and one of his reindeer. I'm not quite sure what's happening in the picture but it looks quite funny.

Besides this amusing scene, the Santa and Gifts Theme alters the Windows Mobile Start menu, adding a snowy, blue non-transparent background to the menu. The theme also changes the menu bar colors in Windows Mobile.

Unless you're a bit of a miser, you should find the Santa and Gifts Theme a good way to liven up Christmas.

Download Santa and Gifts Theme in Softonic
