The 3D model in Solar Walk is a scaled reproduction of the real Solar System and the latest update is designed to explore not only the Solar System, but the whole Milky Way Galaxy. Among then most interesting features are the ability to view the biggest cities on the globe, the 10 most interesting Earth satellites and points of interests on Mars, Venus, and the Moon. In addition, there are educational videos to inform you about different aspects of the universe.

You can click and explore just about anything although some stars aren't clickable. Some dwarf planets, moons, satellites and asteroid belts are also missing but in general, the level of detail is superb. The planets are displayed in high resolution and each planet is displayed in detail including the internal structure. As an educational tool for kids, its particularly useful.

Besides streaming the event, the app includes a map that has lots of information if you are going to be in Washington D.C. watching in person. There is also a section in the app that shows more videos and photos, which will likely be updated as the event happens.

The social aspect of Inaugural 2013 connects to President Barack Obama's inauguration Twitter account. There is also a news feed that updates when opening the app and you can also browse information about the events surrounds the official inauguration.

Noel Edmonds Cosmic Ordering is designed to offer 'a simple but astonishingly effective way of managing the way you view your life and your goals in life'. It's based around the theory that if you asked something from the Universe, the Universe will provide you with what you want (provided you have a positive mind and truly believe in yourself, of course).

Traditionally, those practicing cosmic ordering would simply write their requests to the Cosmos on a piece of paper. Thanks to Noel Edmonds Cosmic Ordering, you can now place your 'orders' on your iPhone instead. Simply type in what it is that you want (Noel advises you not to be too specific and to be realistic), enter a due date and select the category of order. Now click 'Launch order' and your request will be sent to the Cosmos as your iPhone screen swooshes and sparkles.

The main 'Manage Orders' screen allows you to view the status of all of your current Cosmos requests. You can order them by date, by category, and edit any details whenever you like. Click the 'Cosmos' button and a scientific-looking astral chart will appear indicating the position of your orders in the Cosmos.

One of the funniest things you can do in Noel Edmonds Cosmic Ordering is to view all the requests that other people have been making, by clicking the 'Online' button. Wishes and goals range from 'Grow a wicked cool beard' to 'Meet Mr Blobby'.

I guess the value of this app depends on your views on cosmic ordering. Some might regard Noel Edmonds Cosmic Ordering as a bit of swindle, that has no functionality whatsoever as an application. Others will see it makes for a handy way of asking the Comsos for what you want.

All I can say is that when I asked the Cosmos for a biscuit, a colleague offered me a custard cream 5 minutes later. Spooky.

The 4400+ Cool Facts app is perfect for trivia fans (or 'smart asses' as they call them where I come from) because it contains a seemingly never-ending stream of useless facts and information. I would challenge the description that all these facts are 'cool' though, because in reality a large chunk of them are pretty boring.

However, there are some real gems in there ('Apples are more efficient than caffeine at keeping people awake in the mornings', 'Farmers in England are required by law to provide their pigs with toys'), and it's the chance of unearthing these that keeps you glued to this app.

The 4400+ cool facts in the app are navigated in a rather novel way - by shaking the iPhone to skip through them. You can also go back through the facts by swiping the screen. This makes for a quick and easy way of working your way through all the trivia.

Although lots of the tidbits of trivia in 4400+ cool facts are quite boring, you'll find there are enough in there to impress a few of your pals.

This app basically allows you to follow all of NASA's missions. The main screen lists the missions you can follow, and touching any of them takes you to a description of the mission with a counter for the time elapsed since the mission started.

For each mission you can view photos, videos, check for updates and in some cases track their orbiting position. This is particularly nice if you're interested in looking for, say, the International Space Station at night, as you can see when it'll be passing over your location. It's also possible to link the app with your email, so you can send interesting bits to other people.

This isn't the flashiest application on the iPhone, but it's well organized, easy to navigate and effective. There are no configuration options, but it hardly needs them. It would be nice if there were more detailed information about the missions outside our orbit - you can't currently see where these space craft are in their journeys.

The NASA app for iPhone keeps you up to date with missions and important NASA news, alongside some neat tools.

Every Spring, the Stanley Cup Finals get a lot of coverage on television and radio. If you're a die-hard fan, you're going to want to be able to impress friends and family with your extensive knowledge of the history of this illustrious tournament.

The United States might be viewed as a relatively young country, especially compared to places in Europe, but that doesn't mean it's not chock full of history. United States Quizzle will help you see how much you know about US history in short order.

United States Quizzle lets you test your history savvy in a multitude of different categories. These include state capitals, flowers and nicknames, as well as the date each state was incorporated into the United States. You can also choose to be asked questions relating to US events, presidents and the Constitution. With United States Quizzle, you can choose which categories to turn on or off, consequently either limiting or expanding the types of questions you'll receive.

Each United States Quizzle quiz consists of 10 questions with four answers to choose from. You'll be told immediately after each answer whether you're correct or not. It would've been really nice to have an additional sentence or two that gives more background information on the subject matter, but unfortunately United States Quizzle doesn't do this. There is a quiz recap that comes up when you complete all 10 questions, though, as well as a means to report questions where you believe the correct answer is actually wrong. You can also share your successes and failures on Twitter or Facebook via the app.

The only major complaint one might have with United States Quizzle is simply that some of the questions might not be posed in grammatically correct English. You also might end up with repeat questions if you play a lot of quizzes all at once.

United States Quizzle is a fantastic free app for US history buffs who want to challenge friends or just expand their knowledge of United States culture.

Are You A Moron? promises to help you find out just how smart or dumb you really are. The app presents you with a series of multiple-choice questions, which are a rough mixture between general knowledge and problem-solving riddles. Are You A Moron? is designed in a very user-friendly way. The option buttons are large and you are automatically taken to the next question once you've answered one.

To be honest, the questions aren't that difficult. However, I must stress that is just for fun and it holds no scientific weight whatsoever, so don't panic too much if you scored badly!

As a bit of fun Are You A Moron? is OK, but it's far from being a great app. There are only a few questions in the quiz, and there's no point playing it more than once, because the questions are all the same every time. The best thing about the app is that it lets you publish the results to Facebook to prove to all your friends that you're not as stupid as you look.

If you really are a moron though, you'll probably be playing this one for quite some time to come.
