Now, thanks to LyricsGetter, you have no excuse for getting the words wrong. This easy-to-use tool helps you find the lyrics for any song. Simply enter the name of the song for which you want to find the lyrics and click on "Search lyrics". You can also enter the name of the artist but if you don't, LyricsGetter will show up a list with all available artists that have a song by that name.

You can then read the lyrics on the program's interface, save them to a TXT file or have them printed on paper, though the latter may not be the most environmental-friendly option.

LyricsGetter doesn't really feature any more options or configuration settings at all, but at least it's a cleaner and faster way to find lyrics than having to browse ad-ridden websites.

When you launch Lyrify the program instantly grabs whatever music is sounding through Spotify and displays the lyrics on its interface. If there are multiple results, the list appears at the bottom of the window, from where you can click on the right one. Unfortunately every time a new song starts Lyrify grabs focus and that can get quite annoying.

The configuration settings in Lyrify let you tweak the way lyrics are displayed, the text font and whether you want the program’s window to snap to Spotify. As they share the same color and design, they look really nice together – though they may take quite a lot of space.

Other interesting features in Lyrify are the buttons to search for videos related to the selected song on YouTube and revise cached lyrics.

In the past, MusicTuner was a free application, so it was easier to overlook some of its flaws. Since our last review, however, the application has become shareware, with a ridiculously short 12 hour trial period. All features seem to be fully functional, however, so you can search for and download tracks, play and organize music already on your computer, browse the internet for new music from within the program, edit your track information and back-up your playlists. There are a number of configuration settings, including hotkeys and a range of skins, but I found I could only change MusicTuner's skin once.

That's a pity, because the MusicTuner interface is horrible. It's non-standard, user unfriendly and the skin I was stuck with made it difficult to view text. I also found some of the program's menus buggy and, in all, using the program just wasn't very pleasant. That aside, MusicTuner makes it easy to search for music, and even features tutorials that you can use to get acquainted with the program. It searches quickly and presents results clearly, and from that point of view was quite good. Unfortunately, I really didn't enjoy using MusicTuner and can definitely say that I wouldn't download it myself.

MusicTuner has lots of potential, but some serious wrinkles to iron out.

MediaMonkey automatically scans your PC for all types of music formats. If you have playlists from other programs, it’s good to know that MediaMonkey also adds m3u files, sparing you the pain of having to recreate them. The file explorer view on the left lets you easily navigate your music collection by categories like artist, genre or rating. You can convert tracks in MediaMonkey into any format you wish, depending on what size or quality of sound you’re looking for. MediaMonkey also lets you analyze and adjust the volume of tracks to increase your listening experience.

MediaMonkey has made its reputation on its advanced tagging management feature. Every time a track is added, the program will verify its tags. You can automatically fill in missing details with info from Amazon or Filename. The program can clean up your tags, move information into the correct categories and synchronize tags for selected tracks. You can also rename and move multiple files thanks to the auto-organize function. MediaMonkey also supports Winamp plugins and visualizations plus skins can be applied to spice up the interface.

If you want to make your own mix CDs, you’ll be happy to know that MediaMonkey rips and burns CDs and DVDs. Create a virtual CD of your favorite tracks and let MediaMonkey do its job. Budding DJs will enjoy the auto-DJ mode, which mixes tracks for you and the Party Mode, which blocks your configuration but lets anybody play their favorite tune. MediaMonkey’s versatility doesn’t stop there. The music manager also lets you synchronize with your portable music devices like your iPod or iRiver.

If you feel like completing your library with a couple of fresh albums you can browse sites like Amazon, Barnes and Noble or AllPosters and purchase tracks. However, unlike Songbird, where you can type in a URL, browse and save your favorite music blogs and sites, MediaMonkey only allows you to browse their selection of online stores.

We were disappointed with the web radio selection, which only features Shoutcast and Icecast, and were surprised to see no sign of podcasts anywhere in the application. However version 3.0 is planning on incorporating this to the application.

Despite these drawbacks, we recommend MediaMonkey to anybody looking for a solid alternative to iTunes or Winamp. This original music manager is more than capable of organizing a very large music library and offers advanced tagging management rarely seen in other music applications. While the browser and web radio are fairly limited, MediaMonkey allows you to rip your custom CDs and connects to most portable music devices. If you really take a liking to MediaMonkey, cough up a few bucks and upgrade to the Gold version, which will open up all of the program’s functionalities like finding missing tracks or creating auto (smart) playlists.

If you want to organise, capture and of course listen to your favourite podcasts, but are busy when they are scheduled, Juice (formerly known as iPodder) could be your solution. Juice allows users to capture and listen to Internet audio programs at anytime for listening at a time more convenient to them - it's kind of like a VCR but for podcasts.

Juice enables you to select and download shows and music and to play them whenever you are ready on your iPods, portable media players or PC. Juice is completely free to use and supports a range of external media players (although not all) and Juice can even help you discover new music with hundreds of podcast feeds you might not be aware of or have heard about (although most are American based). It's the organisation of your podcasts and highlighting of what you've listened to and transferred however that's most useful in Juice. Plus of course the fact that you'll never miss a podcast again.

Juice is an easy to use podcast organiser and scheduler that takes the stress out of keeping up and planning when to listen to your podcasts.

Initial setup of MyTunesRSS involves setting up a server using the IP address of the computer that contains your music. Once connected, the user interface is like a stripped down version of iTunes showing you your tracks and categories such as the 25 most played, best rated and most recently added. You can browse your whole library by album, artist or genre, plus you can access your playlists or create new ones.

To play tracks, you can either download them or play them directly in MyTunesRSS. If they will play in Flash format, you can play them directly in the MyTunesRSS player but anything that won't play in Flash will require a plugin. Alternatively, you can download an entire playlist in M3U or XSPF format and play them in any application that can play them such as iTunes or VLC Player. If you're a Last.fm user, it can even continue to scrobble your tracks as they play.

There's even a theme creator in MyTunesRSS to give your own touch to the app's interface but this requires knowledge of how to use the remote API, which isn't particularly easy if you're a beginner to XPI. The main downside of MyTunesRSS is the fact that it's written in Java and as a result, it can run rather sluggishly. Note that in addition, this trial is limited for a period of 30 days.

MyTunesRSS is a simple but powerful program that can help you access your tunes over a network or wherever you are in the world as long as you have a decent internet connection.

With Create CoverSearch you can now fill in the gaps in your cover art collection in a very easy way. Simply run the program and select the folder where all your music is stored (the root folder is enough, as the program will analyze subfolders as well).

Once the whole list is loaded on Create CoverSearch, double-click on any album and the program will automatically look for the correspondent album cover on Yahoo! and Amazon. There will probably be more than one result, so you can choose the one you like best and save it to the appropriate folder.

Create CoverSearch works fast and obtains good results, as long as you have each album saved on a separate folder. This means that the program won't work for your miscellaneous collections of tracks, nor will it find any cover if the albums are not properly spelt.

With Create CoverSearch you can find all the missing album covers in your MP3 collection in a snap, provided it's properly categorized.

Magix Music Manager 2007 is the perfect example of a well-done music manager. In fact, it's so complete you feel overwhelmed by all the options displayed on its nicely designed interface. Luckily enough it only takes a few minutes to create your own database and start adding music.

Besides the usual features in these apps, such as a tag editor, an embedded player or a 10-band equalizer, Magix Music Manager includes other interesting extra functions like the possibility to record CD and DVD or a simple yet convenient mini DJ console to play and mix two tracks simultaneously in real time and direct access to Internet radios and podcasts, as well as support for portable music devices.

The only drawback to this program, if any, is the unusual placement of playback controls, which are found ar the bottom of the interface and are not very comfortable to use. Other than that, Magix Music Manager is a perfect app to cover all your music needs.
