DRM Dumpster will allow you to remove the digital protection from your DRM tracks in iTunes.

Although it looks like DRM will probably be abandoned in the future you may still have purchased DRM tracks in the iTunes Store.

You might want to remove the DRM so that you can play these tracks on any device and make your own copies. The simplest way would have been to burn them to a CD and rip them to an unprotected format, which can be a bit of a hassle.

DRM Dumpster takes tracks in groups of 10 to 20 and automatically removes the DRM without you having to worry about it. It automatically goes through the protected tracks and performs the erase/burn/rip cycle for you, saving you a lot of time and effort.

DRM Dumpster still remains pretty expensive, with a current price of $40, given that it only performs one specific action. Also, we found that the trial itself doesn't even let you try out removing DRM from a track, so you're basically forced to dish out $40 to see how it works.

DRM Dumpster is limited to iTunes, which is a bit of a shame as you might also want to remove the DRM from protected tracks bought on another website or stored elsewhere.

MusicTuner Pro 8.0.0.4-Find and download music

If there's something I really hate, it's when a program has major good points counterbalanced by major bad points. It makes it really hard to write a proper review! Unfortunately, I'm in this situation with MusicTuner. This app finds and downloads audio tracks and allows you to listen to and save them to playlists and your hard drive. It also acts as a music player based on Windows Media Player.

In the past, MusicTuner was a free application, so it was easier to overlook some of its flaws. Since our last review, however, the application has become shareware, with a ridiculously short 12 hour trial period. All features seem to be fully functional, however, so you can search for and download tracks, play and organize music already on your computer, browse the internet for new music from within the program, edit your track information and back-up your playlists. There are a number of configuration settings, including hotkeys and a range of skins, but I found I could only change MusicTuner's skin once.

That's a pity, because the MusicTuner interface is horrible. It's non-standard, user unfriendly and the skin I was stuck with made it difficult to view text. I also found some of the program's menus buggy and, in all, using the program just wasn't very pleasant. That aside, MusicTuner makes it easy to search for music, and even features tutorials that you can use to get acquainted with the program. It searches quickly and presents results clearly, and from that point of view was quite good. Unfortunately, I really didn't enjoy using MusicTuner and can definitely say that I wouldn't download it myself.

MusicTuner has lots of potential, but some serious wrinkles to iron out.

Movavi Audio Suite 1.1.6-Conversion, burning, ripping, recording and more, all in one package

Movavi Audio Suite is a collection of audio software that performs a range of functions. It has 6 modules, a converter, audio recorder, CD ripper, YouTube Video to Audio converter, Audio extractor and a CD burner.

Behind the polished menu screen, the audio programs included in Movavi Audio Suite are basic looking, and functional. The Audio converter converts to and from WAV, MP3, OGG AAC and WMA, and you can select the quality of your conversion. There is no M4A or FLAC support in Movavi Audio Suite. The output formats for all the modules is the same. With all the modules it's just a case of importing the file or URL you want to convert, and hitting convert.

The Movavi Audio Suite recording program is extremely basic, and won't satisfy anyone who wants to do anything that record one channel of sound, as it has the functions of a basic Dictaphone, with no editing functions or equalizer. The same is true of the ripper and burner programs - they don't offer anything that iTunes does for free.

While it may be useful to have all of these functions together in one package, none of the separate modules in Movavi Audio Suite stand out, and there are better options for all of them, separately.
