ScreenWhite 1.3.2 - Change the white balance of your screen

Have you ever thought about how cold your computer screen looks in artificial light? ScreenWhite is designed to give you a truer, warmer representation of white on your display.

The application allows you to tweak your monitor settings to find your preferred white balance. This is done very simply using the two sliders that appear in the simple ScreenWhite interface. You simply drag the sliders up and down to control the green/red balance and left and right to tweak the blue/orange warmth balance. It's suggested that you hold a white piece of paper to the screen in order to accurately set up the right white.

If you want to get a little more technical you can, because ScreenWhite boasts a number of extra settings such as the ability to enter color values manually, along with a feature for storing and managing your own schemes.

There isn't much of a help system in the program, but then it's fairly straightforward to use ScreenWhite anyway.

If you're looking for a way to get your white balance right then ScreenWhite is just the program for the job.

Display Tuner 1.6 - Adjust your monitor more easily

Controlling your monitor is something that Windows fails to provide adequate support for no matter what version you have.

Display Tuner aims to fill that vacuum by providing instant desktop access to your monitor settings such as brightness, contrast, color settings or geometry. It even extends to adjusting the speaker settings of your monitor although I don't recommend that you use monitor speakers anyway - it's always best to use a separate sound system. Like with any music application, you can define several monitor profiles with different color settings such as "Films", "Text", "Games" in the same way as you define "Disco" and "Club" equalizer settings with a music application. The Display Tuner meanwhile allows you to easily change the color settings by just hitting a hotkey meaning you'll never need to reach under your monitor and find those awkward to reach controls. Note that the program doesn't support all video cards but it works with nVidia, ATI, Intel, S3, SiS, Matrox, etc.

Display Tuner is an excellent way to control your monitor without even having to touch it physically.

Have you ever had an aooying pixel missing from your screen or stuck in one colour? Then this could be the solution you've been looking for. UDPixel helps to locate and fix LCD screens dead pixels.

The program works by promtping pixels to make rapid changes. Note that you need to run this program for a couple of hours before it will solve the problem.

The developers give no guarantees or promises but its worth a go and certainly cheaper than buying a new monitor!

QuickGamma 2.0.0.3 - Calibrate a monitor on the fly without having to buy expensive hardware tools

QuickGamma allows you to set the gamma correction for your monitor on the fly to match the recommended Windows gamma of 2.2. In fact you should run QuickGamma on every Windows startup after the monitor has warmed up (15 to 30 minutes) and whenever the ambient light conditions have changed.

Once you have found the optimum gamma correction for your monitor at the usual ambient light conditions, you should save the gamma correction setting as default for the QuickGammaLoader utility. This default gamma correction setting can be restored automatically at each Windows startup by QuickGammaLoader.
