USB over Network allows you to work with the remote USB devices over a local network or Internet. All you have to do is to install USB over Network Server on the PC where USB devices are plugged in. USB over Network Client must be installed on the PCs you want to give access to that USB devices. That's all. Now any user which has installed USB over Network Client can work with remote USB devices as if they were connected directly to his local PC. It's very simple.

WebMail Notifier 1.0.10 - Get alerted to webmail in Firefox

Checking webmail can be a real pain especially when you've got several accounts, the servers are always hanging and you have to flick between tabs.

Therefore, it's nice to know there's an easy way - let a Firefox extension do it for you. The great thing about this particular extension too is that it works right across the board with all the major web clients and more. The application sits in the Firefox status bar in the bottom right and when you have mail, an envelope will appear. Clicking on this status bar icon allows you to access the extension preferences or simply go straight to your waiting mail. In the extension preferences you can add and delete accounts including such services as daum.net, naver.com, empas.com and nate.com. You can also choose whether to activate audio or visual warnings. The worry I always have with these extensions however is when it comes to entering your username and password. Of course, the likelihood is that it will be kept safe but there is no guarantee it's not being sent to a third party. On the plus side, if your webmail is not supported, there's a good chance a user is developing a script for it so it really is very flexible and powerful.

A great webmail checker than works across several platforms and saves you valuable time checking your accounts.

EzVoice is full-featured answering machine software with voice mail support. It captures caller ID, and allows you to pre-screen calls and block unwanted calls or telemarketers. Its built-in address book lets you customize greetings for friends, relatives or coworkers.

Moreover, it will notify you of new calls or voice messages through emails to your pagers or cellular phones. If you own a business, you can set up to 10 voice mailboxes in EzVoice, which enable you to announce products, prices or other related information in separate mail boxes. This will greatly improve your business image. Additionally, you can attach memos or notes to your phone messages.

With built-in search tool, you can retrieve and find these messages quickly. EzVoice further provides other useful features such as visual and audio alert upon new calls, password protected remote retrieval, unlimited recording length and so on.

geepeeyes 2 Beta - Integrate Google Earth with your GPS

Geepeeyes is a unique tool that brings together two of the most powerful navigational tools available - GPS and Google Earth.

The result is the most detailed GPS maps you've ever seen. The good thing is that it doesn't even require you to upgrade to the premium versions of Google Earth to use it. Normally, GPS support is only available on the Plus and Pro editions of Google Earth, and it is limited to Garmin & Magellan devices. GPS and Google Earth fans will genuinely love the way that you the program allows you to look at routes and locations for real instead of plain road maps. The great thing for someone who's terrible with maps, like me, is that you can use buildings and reference points to direct you instead with geepeeyes. Asa result, wrong turns, missing street names or the absence of reliable directions are much less of a problem than they used to be. Even if you don't use it for navigational purposes, it's fun just to watch the maps unveil before you. The only problem you may encounter is that it is prone to bugs due to the fact that it is still in beta testing phase.

A classy little utility that will save you hours getting lost not to mention the money you'd have to spend on Google Earth to support this sort of thing normally.

Virtual SMS Handset - Send SMS messages via the internet

Sometimes it's much quicker and convenient to send SMS messages directly from your desktop rather than pick up your mobile phone. Virtual SMS Handset allows you to do exactly this via a simple interface that sends messages to mobiles anywhere in the world.

Initially, you have to sign-up for an account which only takes a few minutes. Once done, the developers will send you a username and password that you use to log onto the service. The interface is split into two - on the left you can compose messages and enter the recipient's number. On the right, you have your inbox where messages are received. The program assigns you a random number to receive messages. You can give this number to anyone and all messages that they send to it will be received in your Virtual SMS inbox. You also have the option of diverting messages to your mobile phone.

Messages are sent instantly and in a test, I found that the message was received within seconds of sending it. You are given 9 free credits for 9 messages but after that, you must pay to continue using the service using a Visa card. This is a great simple little program, the only downside being that you have to pay for more credit once you've used-up your free messages.

GPSBabel 1.3.2 - Read, convert and manipulate GPS waypoints

GPSBabel converts waypoints, tracks, and routes from one format to another, whether that format is a common mapping format like Delorme, Streets and Trips, or even a serial or USB upload or download to a GPS receiver such as those from Garmin and Magellan.

By flattening the Tower of Babel that the authors of various programs for manipulating GPS data have imposed upon us, it returns to us the ability to freely move our own waypoint data between the programs and hardware we choose to use.

It contains extensive data manipulation abilities making it a convenient for server-side processing or as the backend for other tools.

It does not convert, transfer, send, or manipulate maps. We process data that may (or may not be) placed on a map, such as waypoints, tracks, and routes.
