Twitterrific 4.4.4-An excellent Twitter client for Mac

http://twitterrific-mac.en.softonic.com/mac

Twitterrific is a sleek, Mac-compatible twitter client that boasts a clean interface and excellent upload options.

If you’re looking for the perfect Twitter client, take a look at Twitterrific. It’s a really nice little app, with clean, fresh lines that make it very easy to view and manage your tweets. View options and trends are listed down the left side, while the timeline, Mentions, Messages and Favorites are displayed in the main part.

Clicking on the little settings symbol in an individual tweet will give you access to the options you have, for example, replying, marking as a favorite, translating the tweet and even emailing it. There’s also a quick reply option. In the top bar, you’ll be able to refresh your timeline, view your profile and compose your own 140-character masterpieces.

Although not overflowing with options, Twitterrific has some interesting settings. There are a few skins for the app, trend display is toggleable and there is a great selection of picture and video upload options. Twitterrific also supports CloudApp and Instapaper.

For many users, Twitterrific’s big downfall is the fact that the free, ad-supported version doesn’t allow multiple user accounts. If this isn’t an issue for you, however, it’s a simple but functional twitter client that’s just perfect for many users’ needs.

Twitterrific’s simple and slick, and as long as you don’t need very advanced settings, it’s a great Twitter client.

Download Twitterrific 4.4.4 in Softonic

Facebook Desktop Notifications 0.57-Keep up with your friends without your browser

http://facebook-desktop-notifications.en.softonic.com/mac

Facebook Notifications is just what it sounds like, a little app that keeps you up to date with your Facebook world regardless of whether you're actually watching the page or not.

At installation (or in Preferences later) you can choose to have Facebook Notifications startup with your Mac, and all you'll see is a tiny blue 'F' on the status bar. Clicking this opens a drop down menu that shows your most recent notifications and messages.

There are also options to see your news feed, profile, compose a message and update your status. All but the last option will open your browser though - you can only write status updates, and even that doesn't include the enriched sharing features of the browser Facebook page.

To run Facebook Notifications properly, you have to have Growl installed, although as that's a more or less essential Mac installation that's not a problem!

Great for Facebook addicts, FaceBook Notifications means you'll never miss your friend's news while you're Mac's turned on.

Download Facebook Desktop Notifications 0.57 in Softonic

Photograbber r83-Download tagged photos from Facebook

http://photograbber.en.softonic.com/mac

Photograbber allows you to download all tagged photos of yourself or your friends on Facebook.

If you've ever wanted to have copies of all the photos people tag of you on Facebook, you can download them one by one from the web site, or use an app like Photograbber. This is a standalone app, meaning you don't have to install it, which is good news. Getting photos is easy - first click login, which opens your browser, then once you are logged in you receive a code, which you have to paste into Photograbber.

Next you can choose anyone from your friends list, or yourself, and then Photograbber will search for and download every picture tagged of that person and put it in the folder of your choice. You can also choose to download complete albums you feature in, albums uploaded by that user, and the comment and tagging information as well. Photograbber has the same permissions as you, so it can only download images you can view yourself! Photos are left in separate folders, names after the photo album they were taken from.

Once finished the app will close. Photograbber is a simple Facebook photo downloader, but it works well. It could be improved if you could select multiple users to download, and being able to download all images to a single folder might be preferable for some people.

Photograbber is a quick and painless way of downloading tagged photos of you or your friends on Facebook.

Download Photograbber r83 in Softonic

http://google-plus-for-mac.en.softonic.com/mac

Google+ for Mac is an unofficial app for Mac desktops that allows you to access Google+ directly from your Dock.

Google+ for Mac requires Google Chrome and uses the web interface of Google+ to allow easier access from your Mac. The developer emphasizes that Google+ for Mac is a temporary solution until he can create a native desktop app. Note it is not based on a Google+ API - it is just a ported browser.

Google+ for Mac doesn't therefore do anything revolutionary. In fact, it merely puts an icon in your Dock that when clicked, opens your Google+ profile in Chrome. Navigating to external sites is impossible because clicking on them leads you nowhere.

You can also achieve much of the same effect as Google+ for Mac with Fluid.app but the developer promises Google+ for Mac will go far beyond what you can achieve with Fluid in the near future.

Google+ for Mac is for all those Google+ addicts that want instant access of Google+ from their dock.

Download Google+ for Mac in Softonic

FMenu 3.1-Menu bar Facebook notifications

http://fmenu.en.softonic.com/mac

With FMenu you can stay connected to Facebook via your Mac's menu bar.

FMenu works as a drop down menu, which reveals all the latest notifications from your Facebook account. These can be updates, statuses, notes, groups, wall posts, friend requests or photos. You decide which ones you wish to be notified about. FMenu is very quick and will scan Facebook more or less every 35 seconds. You should also make sure that you have Growl installed so you can receive timely pop-up notifications.

While FMenu is very stable under Tiger, many Leopard users have complained that the application crashes regularly in Apple's new OS. Let's hope developers will soon release a more stable version. FMenu also suffers from two little glitches. If your Mac goes to sleep and FMenu is on, it'll flood you with notifications as soon as you turn your Mac back on. Then again that's just the application doing its job. Also, if you remove a friend in Facebook and FMenu is working, it will notify you that his profile is changed instead of removed.

Despite these two little issues, FMenu is a great little tool to receive to-the-minute notifications from Facebook from your menu bar. Let's just hope a stable Leopard version is released soon.

Download FMenu 3.1 in Softonic

http://eventbox.en.softonic.com/mac

If you're a social networking addict then you'll probably be a bit annoyed with going back and forth between applications, logging out of one while logging into another.

EventBox has been designed so that you can combine web applications like Facebook, Flickr or Twitter into one convenient application. At the moment, it supports all the major sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Reddit and it also includes an RSS reader for all your feeds as a bonus. The EventBox interface is incredibly slick and elegant using every ounce of your Mac's graphic capabilities to produce some stunning effects.

The program supports Growl alerts, audio alerts and dock alerts to notify you when you've received a new message on one of the sites. This is especially useful for viewing new photos that have been posted as EventBox allows you to view them, whichever application they've been posted to, without leaving the program.

Minitube is a YouTube desktop client which allows you to surf and watch YouTube on your desktop.

When you install Minitube, all you have is a desktop client with a large search box. Type in your search term and Minitube will suggest some predictions for you to try. Results are returned instantly and you can view videos normally as you would in YouTube.

There's not much more to it than that though. There's no way to view comments and there's no way to download clips which would have been a welcome add-on to the interface. The idea is to create a more TV like experience but YouTube is different to TV and you cannot help but feel is takes away functionality from the site.
http://rank-tracker.en.softonic.com/mac

Rank Tracker is an SEO tool designed to make search engines rankings, monitoring and keyword research a snap.

Rank Tracker allows you track up to 392 search engines and monitor an unlimited number of keywords. You can use its keyword suggestion methods to discover keywords you've been missing and that could increase your ranking. You can also keep history records of your ranking to help you see how well you've been ranking over a specific period of time. You can then display these results in graphical format.

Rank Tracker promises a lot although in reality, it's not much different to any other SEO tool. The fact that is can monitor up to 392 search engines is not much of a selling point since the vast majority of your users will be coming from Google anyway.

If you've tried other methods and are desperate for traffic, then Rank Tracker is worth a try but don't expect miracles.

Download Rank Tracker 5.4.4 in Softonic

GarageSale 6.4-Create and track eBay ads with ease

http://garagesale.en.softonic.com/mac

eBay has been one of the Internet's big success stories and it's still going strong today. It's probably the most effective way to find cheap stuff and, of course, get rid of things yourself.

There can be few better tools for posting and tracking items on eBay than GarageSale either. It's beautifully presented, easy to use, and brings all of your bids and items under one convenient umbrella. It's certainly preferable to the time consuming process of posting things via eBay itself.

Since it's been designed specifically for Mac, GarageSale features integration with iPhoto, meaning you can post pictures of items instantly. I'd like to have seen Picasa support as well but hopefully that will be added in future releases.

GarageSale offers WYSIWYG text editing, free image hosting and comes with more than 130 free auction templates, as well as support for PayPal, Twitter and eBay Stores. The result is that you'll end up presenting more professional eBay ads and thus have a greater chance of selling your stuff.

The WYSIWYG interface reminds me of iWeb, and creating an ad does feel like creating a web page. You can even edit and retouch images within GarageSale, although the editing tool is quite limited. The easy-to-use scheduler allows you to follow bids and auctions that you're involved in. It would have been nice if this integrated with iCal since you have no way of monitoring auctions unless you've got GarageSale open.

Overall though, GarageSale is a superb application. It's the kind of tool that makes posting and tracking items on eBay almost as much fun as the purchase itself.

Download GarageSale 6.4 in Softonic

http://twhirl.en.softonic.com/mac

Adobe AIR has spawned a huge number of social networking apps and Twhirl is another example aimed at the Twitter community.

Twhirl actually supports not only Twitter but also Friendfeed, identi.ca and seesmic. It can connect to multiple accounts at the same time in much the same way as Adium can as an IM client. Notifications on new messages are delivered to your desktop, you can cross-post twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku, post images to TwitPic and search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan.

To get started, you'll obviously need to download Adobe AIR first. Setting up your various accounts is easy as your taken through the process via a wizard. The problem is that once you're up and running, you may notice that some of the fonts aren't rendered very well in Mac OS. The reason is that while Twhirl uses system fonts installed on your computer to display tweets, the Flash-based rendering of system fonts on OSX can ruin them although the developers say that the Verdana font at 12pt works best.

Twhirl is a useful micro blogging desktop app for those that are members of Twitter, Pownce, identi.ca and seesmic.

Download Twhirl 0.9.7 in Softonic

Clutch is a web UI for the excellent Transmission BitTorrent client on Mac.

It will allow you to access and control all your torrent downloads performed on one Mac from the web. The application is easy to work with. Once you've got Transmission running and are downloading torrents, install the bundle. Open that up and choose to start both the Daemon and WebUI from the Clutch menu. You'll have to set up a username and password and note down the url with which you can access your client from any computer connected to the web.

Once Clutch is working and configured, it's really easy to access your Transmission client from anywhere. You'll be able to do the usual set of commands like pause and resume, open, filter, and even check the information for each torrent. Unfortunately, Clutch is only based on the features of Transmission 0.82, so it won't show all the cool new features you get in the latest version. The interface also looks a bit outdated.

Amigo is a little application to follow all your Facebook notifications from your Mac's menu bar.
Fitted discreetly in your menu bar, Amigo drops down, revealing all new notifications and your list of friends as soon as you click the Amigo item at the top of your screen.

The program will give you notifications for pokes, wall posts, invitations, updates and groups, and even list all upcoming events with their date.

Amigo works with Growl so notifications can pop up discreetly on your screen to let you know what's going on in your Facebook world. You can also set different audio alerts for each notification.

It's nice to have all your friends listed in the drop-down menu, however if you're really popular it can be a bit of a hassle scrolling through them all.

Instead you can use the integrated search, which works fairly well. Clicking on a friend will not bring you to their profile page yet but instead will display their picture and quick access to their wall, profile, photos and more.

You can also send a message or poke them from there.
If you're just looking to stay connected to your Facebook account and get regular notifications then you should like Amigo.

The real drawback to the program may be its price though. $20 dollars is a little expensive for just letting you get notifications.
If not a little expensive, Amigo is a discreet little program to get notifications from Facebook via your menu bar.

Download Amigo 1.2.0 in Softonic

If you use Google Docs regularly but wish you had a way of integrating it with your desktop, then NoteSync may be just what you need.

NoteSync is a slick Adobe Air application which allows you to take notes instantly and sync them with your Google Docs account. Simply hit CTR-L to reveal the NoteSync search cursor in order to search for notes or create a new one. NoteSync syncs automatically every few minutes or when you hit the sync button.

There aren't many customization options although you can create keyboard shortcuts such as CTR-L to put your cursor in the search bar to easily search for notes or create a new note. NoteSync even works offline and the developers claim a mobile version is also in the pipeline.

For those that rely on Google Docs but want greater desktop integration, NoteSync is an interesting and useful tool.

Download NoteSync 1.2.1 in Softonic

Jungle Disk Desktop 2.60c-Save your files to Amazon's S3 server

http://jungle-disk-desktop.en.softonic.com/mac

Amazon's S3 storage servers are some of the cheapest, biggest and most secure around and Jungle Disk Desktop Edition allows you to save files to them in a few clicks.

Jungle Disk Desktop works across platforms, so it's ideal for those that have to store data remotely using both OS X and Windows. To use it, you simply drag files into it with Finder. When you do so, the file is encrypted and uploaded in the background on Amazon.com's servers. When you install it, you have to go through quite a lengthy sign-up process which involves signing up for both a Jungle Disk and Amazon account.

There is also a 2$ per month fee to pay but the storage fees are very competitively priced. It costs $0.15 per GB-Month of storage used, $0.10 per GB of data uploaded, $0.17 per GB of data downloaded, $0.01 per 1,000 upload requests and $0.01 per 10,000 download requests. This makes it an ideal utility for software developers uploading a program that receives a high number of downloads.

It's a shame it's not free to use but the cost of Jungle Desktop Server is modest for what is a very easy to use and cost effective way to store large amounts of data.

Download Jungle Disk Desktop 2.60c in Softonic

SpiderFriend 0.19a-Visualize a web of your Facebook friends in 3D

http://spiderfriend-mac.en.softonic.com/mac

The Facebook fad brought along with it all sorts of applications to interact with your friends and organize your network.
SpiderFriend is not a Facebook app, it installs as a regular application, yet you'll need to access your Facebook account to make it work.

Once launched, the program will generate a 3D environment of all your friends, with links showing connections between them. You can click on any one of them, or even your icon (at the top left), to get taken to the profile page.

SpiderFriend also lets you browse through your contacts via the icon list on the right of the interface. To look through the web of contacts you can use the controls on the bottom left of the program.

SpiderFriend certainly offers an original view of your networks, however it's obviously still very much in development. When tested, the applicatio took quite some time to start up, froze on occasions and often crashed.

We also had trouble displaying friend images properly.
One last thing that confused us is the fact stated before, that SpiderFriend is Facebook app outside of Facebook, which makes it a little confusing.

SpiderFriend is too unstable to be used seriously. Let's wait and see how it will improve, as the idea is still very much promising.

Download SpiderFriend 0.19a in Softonic
