I've always been the kind of guy who puts up wallcharts of these big soccer tournaments in my room in order to track the matches, filling in all the results and entering the group positions during the event. Although it does come with its own installer, AceFixtures for EURO 2008 Online Schedule is essentially just an Excel spreadsheet file, in which you can enter the scores for each match in the tournament. As you enter the data, the program calculates the changes in the league rankings and calculates the fixtures for the knockout stages. It functions accurately, although it doesn't pop up an error message if you type a bad string (i.e. a letter instead of a number).

The creator of AceFixtures for EURO 2008 Schedule has made some effort to make it look presentable, including a background with the official logo, plus links to various Euro 2008-related sites. However, it's far from being the most graphically-rich tournament tracker I've ever seen.

With the NFL Team Schedule, which is a Yahoo Widget, you can see details for all teams in the league, but luckily you can choose your team so you don't have to be annoyed by news of the teams you hate!

The NFL Team Schedule widget settings are excellent. You can alter the layout extensively, as well as colors and even fonts. The design is attractive, and clear.

Once your group matches are done, move on to the second round and keep entering scores till you come up with a winner. It only takes a few minutes to fill but you can come up with thousands of different possibilities.

When My World Cup 2006 starts up, choose your favourite team to highlight its name on the form and follow its results. My World Cup includes extra information on the international competition, like pictures for all of the stadiums in Germany and links to the city and stadium official websites. You can also check out the date and time each game will be played by going to the view and schedule menu.

Unfortunately, My World Cup 2006 completely overlooks the social factor by not letting you save multiple score sheets or sending your predictions to your friends. This is what usually makes sports pools an exciting and durable experience whether with work colleagues or friends.

My World Cup 2006 is nothing more than a score predictor and you’ll enjoy it if you have five minutes to waste. With an integrated schedule and stadium information it packs a bit more options than regular predictors, however it’s a shame that the program doesn’t let you interact with other users. Still, anybody excited by the upcoming World Cup will find it fun.

The graphics are rather crude and not really appealing, but in this case it’s the content that matters. What I’ve found extremely useful is the slow motion function, which allows you to see the steps in smooth, slow movements.

This is something you wouldn’t even get from a face-to-face class and it’s the real advantage of having a course on your PC.

In this application the teacher instead emulates your position, meaning he dances with his back to you, so that if he moves the left foot, you don’t have to think about which foot you have to move.

It’s simply the left one! I know this may sound silly, but when figures get complicated I can assure you it eases things a lot. With the slow motion, finally you can see exactly where you have to place your feet, saving you from bad figures and your partner from bruises.
