Need For Speed World 1.8.40.1166

Need For Speed World is the new online version of the extremely popular racing game franchise. It's a massively multiplayer open world game (MMO), with RPG style leveling up.

Huge Open world

Need For Speed World features Palmont, the city from Need For Speed Carbon, and also Rockport from Most Wanted, which combine to make a huge world to explore. There's a night/day rotation, which makes it feel more dynamic. There are no pedestrians, and little traffic. This means you won't be interrupted too often when racing, but does make Need For Speed World feel a bit lifeless.

Car Shopping

Choose a car from a small range of not very exciting cars to start with, liek the Toyota Corolla or Mitsubishi Eclipse, then roam the huge Need For Speed World looking for races. These can be multi or single player, and get into chases with the cops. Evading the police and ranking in races gives you experience points and money, which in turn unlock better cars that you can buy in the Need For Speed World showroom.

Mods

Your cars can be modified with stickers, paint and decals, and power-ups can be chosen and purchased with in game money. Need For Speed World seems pretty stable, even with loads of players online. When you enter the open world you can't crash into other players, only the environment and other traffic. Online players can only push you around if you enter a race. The cars in Need For Speed World have the forgiving, arcade style handling that makes the franchise such fun to play.

There is online chat alongside the racing, and you can add friends and meet up to race them. Graphically Need For Speed World is ok, but looks a few years old. However, this means you don't need a super computer to play the game!

Overall

Need For Speed World is an impressive massively multiplayer online racing game, and although it looks a bit basic it's really playable.

Download Need For Speed World 1.8.40.1166 in Softonic

Extreme Motorbikers is a racing game unlike any you've ever seen before.

In Extreme Motorbikers, you'll have to contend with a radical, treacherous race track, where you can easily fall to your death from the roads, which soar into the sky. They're also full of obstacles and problems, meaning you'll have to avoid barrels that could knock you into the abyss or even explode. Add that to the fact that your fellow racers aren't adverse to a few low blows, and you've got your work cut out.

Extreme Motorbikers works more or less like Formula 1 and is divided in stages. At the start, you'll have access to the Summer Cup. There are also two other stages, fall and winter, which will be unlocked as you progress through the game.

Bikes and Controls

Don't expect any superbikes when you're playing Extreme Motorbikers. The model you start out with is pretty basic. As you progress, you'll get better, more powerful bikes, but the focus here isn't really your vehicle - it's the barren, jaw-dropping tracks.

As well as basic direction and speed controls, Extreme Motorbikers has various shortcuts on offer - and you're going to need them. The drivers in Extreme Motorbikers play dirty and the only way you're going to get through is by using some slick moves to throw them off.

If you love racing games and are craving a bit of real action, Extreme Motorbikers should definitely be your next move.

Download Extreme Motorbikers 1.18 in Softonic

Superbike Racers is a free, family-friendly motorbike racing game for PC.

For a game that's completely free of change, this Superbike Racers is a little gem. The graphics are good, the game is fast-paced and easy to get into, and the controls can be managed by even the very young.

To keep things interesting, Superbike Racers offers various modes and options. There are two tracks for you to ride on, four bikes for you to choose from - the Rapida, Supera or Hypera - and three game modes for you to test your skill against; single race, time attack or competition.

Superbike Racers' options are unlocked as you progress through the game, completing various challenges, so to start with you only have the most basic. There's an option to change the difficulty level too, if you need it, and everyone will enjoy the game's soundtrack, which is suitably fast-paced.

In all, Superbike Racers is a fun game that's very honest in its intentions. While the graphics and gameplay fall short of high-budget classics like <taglink type="program" country="en" id="97263">Need for Speed</taglink>, it is completely free and as such is actually a pretty impressive game.

Burn rubber for free with Superbike Racers!

Download Superbike Racers 1.18 in Softonic

Like other sandbox racers, you can drive freely around the city, and find various events to win to increase your ranking, and win credits to upgrade your car, or buy a better one.

Visually, City Racing is quite odd. The city is fairly generic, although it's quite big. The vehicles look vaguely futuristic, but not beautiful, and the pedestrians walking the streets are pretty outdated. The gameplay is spoiled by really wooden physics - you feel like you're driving a bumper car, and there is no real sense of speed.

The language in the game will amuse anyone who likes bad English, as the text throughout is very badly translated. The best thing about City Racing is that it's free.

A free sandbox racing game sounds great, but City Racing is a disappointing experience.

Download City Racing in Softonic

They all handle differently, and you can race them in a mixed field of cars, or just against the same type. Ferrari Virtual Race has the usual options like manual or automatic, various camera modes and so on.

Ferrari Virtual Race's driving is pretty pleasing, not oversensitive like many simulators, and Mugelo is a goood track (it is a shame there's only one!). Opponents are good, and the three difficulty modes should suit everyone, although driving experts will no doubt have no trouble beating the hardest setting.

The sound is disappointing, but the graphics are good, with a nice motion effect at the edge of the screen, good car models and nice dust effects. There is an option in Ferrari Virtual Race to set up your own Ferrari online and race it in the game, but this is only available to people with a paid membership of the Ferrari website.

Ferrari Virtual Race may only have one track, but it's still one of the most impressive free PC racing games to date.

Download Ferrari Virtual Race in Softonic

MountainBike Challenge 2009

MountainBike Challenge is an easy to play, yet difficult to master downhill mountain bike game. It's totally free, and supported by in game ads (which aren't intrusive). The idea is to practice course, and then enter qualifications, competing online to get the fastest time.

Each week there's one track to compete on, and you can't use all the tracks, just that one. The courses are fairly long, and really fast. Control is just via the cursor keys, making it really easy to pick up, but finding the fastest line and not crashing is harder.

You can practice and qualify as many times as you like, once you've registered. When qualifying, you "race" a ghost, which you can set. By default it will be the next fastest competitor to you, based on your training time. You can race any ghost in the leaderboard though, so choosing the fastest rider means you can learn their tricks.

MountainBike Challenge looks good, with long views down the mountains as you ride, and the sound effects are good enough. The downside of this is that there is only one track to play at a time, and while it's easy to play, it's a shame you can't lean back and forward on your bike.

The online element makes this simple game competitive. The sense of speed is good, but overall it's a bit limited.

Download MountainBike Challenge 2009 in Softonic

SBK 09 Superbike World Championship Demo

SBK 09 Superbike World Championship is a simulator that lets you play through the 2009 season. It includes all the real teams, riders and tracks.

This demo lets you race the Kyalami track, choose between two teams, and alter the weather and number of tracks. You can make SBK 09 Superbike World Championship as realistic as you like in terms of gameplay, with a wealth of driving aids to turn on and off. This makes it appealing to bike fanatics and the more casual players alike.

The track is really nicely done, and in the rain there are puddles and drier patches which make it feel really real (and extremely dangerous!). The riders are well rendered too, and their suits get scratched and damaged after a fall. Overall, however, the graphics won't wow anyone in 2009. They're not bad, but a few effects, like the water spray, look a bit old.

The effect of speed is pretty good - there are no flourishes like speed blurring, but as this is aiming for realism perhaps it's unsuitable. There's a big range of camera views, so you're sure to find on you're comfortable with.

Superbike fans will love SBK 09 Superbike World Championship, but it's not a particularly special racing game otherwise.

Download SBK 09 Superbike World Championship Demo in Softonic

From Yamaha to Honda or Ducati, it's all here. The full game also includes a complete tutorial that will help you decide which motorbike and driving style suits you best, as well as several gaming modes including Career, Championship, Quick Race and Online Mode.

As for the MotoGP 08 demo, I must say it's a bit too limited, especially if you compare it with the features found in the full game. That said, the truth is that MotoGP 08 manages to give you an excellent taste of the actual game in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Talking about graphics, MotoGP 08 meet the expectations. Both bikes and riders are depicted with a high level of detail, and the game's diverse camera perspectives contribute to enhance realism – try the first-person view and you'll see what I'm talking about. As for playability, MotoGP 08 is not especially difficult to control, as long as you get used to a somewhat strange key combination: A to accelerate, S to brake and the left and right arrows to turn.

MotoGP 08 is a must-have for all motorbike fans that will enable you to feel like an official Championship bike rider.

Download MotoGP 08 Demo in Softonic

Well Dangerous Road is not exactly a racing game - it's more a case of racing like mad along a busy highway that is genuinely dangerous. In your way are all kinds of obstacles from trucks to pedestrians but you can use the "Ctrl" key to scroll through a variety of weapons and shoot them off the road.

The gameplay of Dangerous Road is lightening fast but it reminds you a bit of one of those early handheld console games where the scenery never changes and it seems to be on some kind of loop so it can get rather boring after prolonged play. However, if you do persevere and your score is among the Top 10, you can upload it to the Dangerous Road website to compare yourself with hundreds of other players across the world.

Dangerous Road is not exactly a racing classic and it could do with a little more variation in scenery and challenge but bike racing enthusiasts are sure to find some appeal.

Download Dangerous Road in Softonic

Sonic Games is a set of classic arcade games with the famous blue hedgehog as protagonist.

From the main program's page you can select among 7 games listed in the game menu. The titles sound exciting: Sonic 3D Snowboarding, Sonic Character Designer, Sonic Lost in Mario World, Sonic Pacman, Sonic Tetris, Sonica and Ultimate Sonic.

Sonic Games lacks basic functions, like pause, but at least the game's frame is resizable. The idea of a collection of Sonic Games is really nice, but it's a pity that the playability is as good in the original MegaDrive version and that the graphics are so scarce.
They would probably be still enjoyable on mobile devices, but on Windows, the Sonic Games experience ends up being pretty boring.

If you are a fan of Sonic, you might want to have this set of Sonic Games for Windows, but mainly for collection purposes rather than to play with them as both graphics and playability are pretty poor.

Download Sonic Games 1.0 in Softonic

Though the demo version doesn't include all of them, you can still get a glimpse of what the whole game should be like. There are some tutorial levels as well, but I don't understand how they work, because instead of explaining movements bit by bit (as you would expect from a tutorial) you're just presented with a basic circuit you can use as training. You can also choose between several camera modes, but if I were you I'd stay with Action mode: the other ones are a little confusing.

Trials 2 features an easy gameplay, with only a few keys to learn, but at the same time is quite challenging and difficult to master. Graphics are very detailed and the excellent physics engine contributes to the sensation of realism. However this realism sometimes goes a bit beyond the line, especially when the driver falls from the bike: it always looks like you're on the verge of dying even if you simply crashed at about 5 mph.

If you'd like to test an original motor sport, far from the typical bike and car races, Trials 2 may be the game you're looking for.

Download Trials 2 Second Edition 1.06 in Softonic

This game doesn't offer the official championship bikes or pilots, but at least you can play it absolutely for free.

Graphics are better than we expected, with good response to controls. The motorbike is controlled just with the cursor keys, but don't let this apparent simplicity fool you: it takes some time and practice to master it, especially when accelerating and braking.

You can play offline as much as you want, but if you'd like to join an official race or championship, then you must register as user (it's free). However, bear in mind that you'll have to pass the qualifying series to be allowed to join the race.

Download Moto Race Challenge 08 in Softonic

The cycling season has just started! Only the best bikers can win here and you know it. This game will let you feel all the passion, competition and effort that charactetize this sport.

Rad Challenge features several playing modes: you probably want to start training a bit to get in shape. Then it's time to switch to the Qualifying mode and convince judges that you're ready to compete. Finally, take part in fast races down the mountain and fight for the victory.

The game offers a high degree of realism as regards the feeling of speed and jumps, but fails when depicting the cyclist, who remains rested even after biking during the whole competition.

Download Rad Challenge 07 Demo in Softonic
