uTorrent for Mac 1.8.4

uTorrent for Mac is a lightweight and efficient BitTorrent client that allows you to connect to P2P networks.

uTorrent for Windows has been a big success on PCs for years and uTorrent for Mac includes all the same features that made it such a success. It's lightweight, extremely easy to use, very fast, requires no configuration and generally just makes downloading torrents very easy. If you have used the Windows version, the main difference you'll notice is that uTorrent for Mac is slightly stripped down compared to the Windows version.

For example, down the left hand side of uTorrent you have all the same menus that you have in Windows that allow you to select exactly what you see in the uTorrent window. You can choose to view only those downloads that have completed, those that are currently downloading, those that are active and finally those that are inactive. Of course, you can also choose to view all of these at the same time too.

However, along the top of the interface, some of the controls that you find in Windows have been removed such as the button for RSS downloads, the create your own torrent wizard button and a preferences button. Preferences can be accessed via the menu bar although there is no RSS downloader or create your own torrent wizard unfortunately.

Everything else is the same as you get in uTorrent 's Windows version including a detailed stats windows giving you details of your download which you can toggle on and off via the info symbol on the top right of the interface. You'll also find the search box which simply takes you to a Google search results page.

The preferences dialog offers the same controls as in Windows with options to limit the bandwidth uTorrent uses, network settings and BitTorrent settings. Most importantly, downloads in uTorrent for Mac are lightening quick (if you have plenty of seeds for your file) although of course, this will also depend on how fast your internet connection is. It takes little more than a few seconds for uTorrent to start finding seeds and get on with downloading your files.

Finally, the uTorrent website offers you several different skins to choose from, an extensive FAQ and a full guide to using uTorrent for beginners. There are few drawbacks to uTorrent but one problem is that there is no way to add or remove torrent components once they have started.

Note that uTorrent provides access to a huge number of files but should only be used for sharing legal digital content.

If you've used uTorrent in Windows, you won't be disappointed by uTorrent for Mac. If you've never used it, then give it a go and you may never go back to your old torrent client again.

Download uTorrent for Mac 1.8.4 in Softonic

Posterino 2.4.1

Posterino can take your photos and prints and breathe new life into them by blowing them up into posters and postcards.

The results are very impressive. As soon as you install Posterino, it auto-imports all pictures stored on your Mac, whether they're stored in iPhoto, Aperture or any other application. The clear interface allows you to display your pictures in both list and thumbnail views. There are tons of cool templates such as grids of identical or odd sized image boxes which add a real twist to your posters. You can fill all of the boxes with individual photos making stunning collages which is one of the best features of Posterino.

Even better, after finishing creating your posters and postcards, you can choose export them to either Flickr or iPhoto. You can even send postcards by e-mail to your friends although you are only allowed to send a few for free in this trial version.

Using Posterino is generally a pleasure. The only problems you mount encounter however is when it comes to printing because of the increased dimensions of photos and images. Although your printer will warn you of this, it would be handy if Posterino had some way of auto adjusting images to print more easily.

Posterino is an excellent application for creating posters and postcards from your favorite images and photos.

Download Posterino 2.4.1 in Softonic

Nowadays anyone can be the next big pop star with a few tweaks in a recording studio especially with tools like VoiceTweaker.

VoiceTweaker does exactly that but without the cost of a major studio. Just record your voice and then let VoiceTweaker take care of the rest by changing the pitch of your voice.

VoiceTweaker features quite a professional set of tools that make it a little bit tricky to navigate at first though.
These include a natural sounding pitch shifter and auto tuner with the ability to transpose the pitch of a voice or an instrument up to two octaves, up or down.

Also included is a fully fledged pitch correction section with MIDI control, module matrix. Using these is a lot of fun but you'll need to read the documentation properly to get fully to grips with it.

Download VoiceTweaker 4.1.0.2 in Softonic

MP3 Trimmer 2.9.5.0

There are occasions when you may need to edit an MP3 track to make it shorter so it fits on your portable device, remove annoying commercials or join a few together.

MP3 Trimmer aims to help you do all of these and more via a fairly simple but powerful interface that doesn't take long to learn. The first thing to note is that when you open MP3 Trimmer, you're subjected to a 15 second wait while the program prompts you to register. Hiding the window doesn't help either so you've just got to put-up with it.

Once open, the interface requires you to load an MP3 track. If the audio track had a varying bitrate, MP3 Trimmer will warn you although it offers no help in equalizing it. On the left panel you can mark the in-point and on the right, the out-point. You can preview the 5 seconds preceding each point with the "Try" button to fine tune your editing. There are a few other boxes which you can check to edit your track such as adding an auto-fade and keeping the ID3 tag. There are also a few preferences which allow you to configure how your files are named and whether to check for the bitrate .

MP3 Trimmer is a very accomplished and professional feeling app which will cater to just about any basic MP3 editing need.

Download MP3 Trimmer 2.9.5.0 in Softonic
