MyPhotoIndex is a very basic photo viewer with which you can directly import pictures from your camera.

In fact, tagging is one of the most outstanding features in MyPhotoIndex, as it enables you to organize and search your whole collection in a more efficient way. You can also sort them by date, group (family or friends) or event, which makes then easier to search for a certain image.

Screen captures are useful for all sorts for reasons form building tutorials to illustrating software like we do at Softonic. However, there are not many capture utilities out there that also allow you to take shots of video but Capture Solution does. Captures are made in AVI, MOV, RM or WMV video formats with different configuration options: ratio of frames per second, colour depth, width etc.

You can capture a whole lot more than that too. If you wish, you can also capture the cursor, the sound recording and even include a logo in the capture. Alternatively, you can capture from a device connected to your hardware such as a TV Tuner or Webcam. I also like the fact that you can see immediately what you've captured during a session via the integrated video viewer because it gives you a good overview of a selection of shots you've chosen for a game.

Screen capturing is not rocket science but the fact that this also takes video means that it's definitely up there with my first choice capture tool.

Picgl is an image viewfinder designed to organize the you digital photos. Once your photos are loaded into the program by browsing to them using Windows Explorer, the program automatically creates thumbnails. It has several ways of presenting or displaying the gallery of images as via slides with many different transitions.

In addition it adds a few useful functions such as the option to change the format and size, repair the brightness, change the saturation, add masks and filters etc. All-in-all, Picgl has an extremely attractive interface for such a basic program and is very easy to use. It's very useful to be able to see your images in thumbnail form although this is nothing new for image browsing programs.

The major downside is that it doesn't seem to employ any particular method for ordering your images and the instructions are virtually non existent because the developers are based in China. Nevertheless, it doesn't hog system resources and does the job.

This nifty little tool solves that problem, by allowing you to watch parts of a video before it has fully unpacked.
