Scribblenauts Unlimited is actually the fourth installment of the Scribblenauts puzzle series. The gameplay in Scribblenauts Unlimited is similar to previous versions. You play the role of Maxwell whose objective is to collect "Starites" (magical objects born out of the happiness of others) by using objects that you create but in Scribblenauts Unlimited, it's more adventure based than previous versions. The ultimate aim is to collect enough Starites to banish an ancient curse.

The fun thing about Scribblenauts Unlimited is that you are only limited by your imagination in solving puzzles. Need to train a dog to do trick to complete a level? Just invent a stick and hey presto, you have a stick to train your dog with. Need a flying bike to get to your destination? No problem, just invent one. From the very start, Scribblenauts Unlimited shows you how to play by entering objects and adjectives to create the objects you want. If you type wrongly, the game will make suggestions as to what you actually meant.

Scribblenauts Unlimited takes place in a large world that you can explore which is different to previous versions of the game where you chose the individual puzzle to explore. You can cross into areas with different themes and accept challenges from characters within the game. The main aim of Scribblenauts Unlimited is to solve multiple puzzles set by characters before you are awarded with a Starite. There are also smaller challenges within the adventure that reward you with Starite shards. If you collect ten of these shards, you can earn one Starites.

The most entertaining thing about Scribblenauts Unlimited is definitely the types of objects you can create. You can have a lot of fun just creating anything that springs to mind without even solving the puzzles. The graphics are well animated and the soundtrack is not bad either.

Scribblenauts Unlimited is a great original and fun game that's unlike any other puzzle game you've played before.

Huge Open world

Need For Speed World features Palmont, the city from Need For Speed Carbon, and also Rockport from Most Wanted, which combine to make a huge world to explore. There's a night/day rotation, which makes it feel more dynamic. There are no pedestrians, and little traffic. This means you won't be interrupted too often when racing, but does make Need For Speed World feel a bit lifeless.

Car Shopping

Choose a car from a small range of not very exciting cars to start with, liek the Toyota Corolla or Mitsubishi Eclipse, then roam the huge Need For Speed World looking for races. These can be multi or single player, and get into chases with the cops. Evading the police and ranking in races gives you experience points and money, which in turn unlock better cars that you can buy in the Need For Speed World showroom.

Mods

Your cars can be modified with stickers, paint and decals, and power-ups can be chosen and purchased with in game money. Need For Speed World seems pretty stable, even with loads of players online. When you enter the open world you can't crash into other players, only the environment and other traffic. Online players can only push you around if you enter a race. The cars in Need For Speed World have the forgiving, arcade style handling that makes the franchise such fun to play.

There is online chat alongside the racing, and you can add friends and meet up to race them. Graphically Need For Speed World is ok, but looks a few years old. However, this means you don't need a super computer to play the game!

Overall

Need For Speed World is an impressive massively multiplayer online racing game, and although it looks a bit basic it's really playable.

In Extreme Motorbikers, you'll have to contend with a radical, treacherous race track, where you can easily fall to your death from the roads, which soar into the sky. Add that to the fact that your fellow racers aren't adverse to a few low blows, and you've got your work cut out.

Extreme Motorbikers works more or less like Formula 1 and is divided in stages. At the start, you'll have access to the Summer Cup. There are also two other stages, fall and winter, which will be unlocked as you progress through the game.

Bikes and Controls

Don't expect any superbikes when you're playing Extreme Motorbikers. The model you start out with is pretty basic. As you progress, you'll get better, more powerful bikes, but the focus here isn't really your vehicle - it's the barren, jaw-dropping tracks.

As well as basic direction and speed controls, Extreme Motorbikers has various shortcuts on offer - and you're going to need them. The drivers in Extreme Motorbikers play dirty and the only way you're going to get through is by using some slick moves to throw them off.

If you love racing games and are craving a bit of real action, Extreme Motorbikers should definitely be your next move.

The aim of Time To Hurry: Nicole's Story is to work in the various shops of a city, helping customers to find the products they want. Each customer gives you a list of things they need and you have to find the items in the cluttered shop and click on them. The quicker you find things, the more satisfied the customers are, and there more money you get.

Time To Hurry: Nicole's Story starts off in a sedate manner, with you having to pick out items from your granny's gardening store. Things get frantic though as the levels progress, because you have more customers and more items to choose from. Finding the items in Time To Hurry: Nicole's Story is great fun, but it does get very stressful!

To select an item you've found you simply need to click on it. However, you need to be very precise when you click, so choosing very small items can be frustratingly fiddly.

Besides the main search-and-click gameplay, Time To Hurry: Nicole's Story features mini games that break the intensity of the levels very well, and help you earn more coins. There are also side projects for Nicole to do, such as riding a bike, reading, going to the museum, etc. that improve her life skills in different areas. In this way, Time To Hurry: Nicole's Story is much like The Sims.

For a game that's completely free of change, this Superbike Racers is a little gem. The graphics are good, the game is fast-paced and easy to get into, and the controls can be managed by even the very young.

To keep things interesting, Superbike Racers offers various modes and options. There are two tracks for you to ride on, four bikes for you to choose from - the Rapida, Supera or Hypera - and three game modes for you to test your skill against; single race, time attack or competition.

Superbike Racers' options are unlocked as you progress through the game, completing various challenges, so to start with you only have the most basic. There's an option to change the difficulty level too, if you need it, and everyone will enjoy the game's soundtrack, which is suitably fast-paced.

Everyday Jigsaw includes seven free puzzles as a starter, but it also gives you access to a plethora of puzzles in the so called "Treasury". Both the Treasury and the daily puzzles require a fee to download, though Fridays you get a puzzle for free.

For those who love jigsaw puzzles, Everyday Jigsaw is definitely a great app. On the downside, it doesn’t include any documentation at all and the pieces can’t be rotated - because they’re all already correctly oriented, which we found quite odd.

Everyday Jigsaw is a nice collection of puzzles for fans of this pastime, though most of them require paying a fee.

If you're after realism, this is the wrong place to be. Nail'd, like Pure and Motorstorm on the PlayStation 3 is all about adrenalin and forward motion. Braking is inadvisable; death-defying stunts the norm. The first time you play the game it is impressive, and while there are prettier games, the environments do look good, and there are some really cool set pieces during races.

Nail'd lets you race motocross bikes and quad bikes. Neither handle realistically, although we thought the quads were slightly more impressive. What is without doubt is that Pure has better handling than Nail'd.

What it lacks in handling, Nail'd makes up for in thrills and spills: The speed is incredible, and the jumps and drops are huge. Sound wise, Nail'd is adequate - the engines and environmental noise all sound OK, and there's a rock soundtrack that's pretty much standard for any 'extreme' sports game. The single player campaign is buoyed by online multiplayer races of up to 12 players.

Nail'd is a fun arcade racer that's not very deep, but certainly provides some short term excitement.

Mad Skills Motocross is a 2D racing and stunt game that brings 80s style bike action to your PC.

This demo introduces you well to the action, teaching you the basics and letting you complete some of the short races.The graphics are simple, but clean and attractive, and the riders have a kind of rag-doll physics when they are hurled off their bikes.

Controls are really simple - use the cursor keys to accelerate and brake, and balance. It's a simple system that works well, and gives you a surprising amount of subtlety. It's not very difficult, and completing the demo shouldn't take you too long. Once you have, while there's quite a lot of replay fun to be had, it's spoiled by one of the most intrusive nag screens you'll see. This pops up even mid game, takes 30 seconds or so, and then returns you to the main menu.

Last year's Trials 2 was a much better update of this old motocross format, but Mad Skills Motocross is still fun, as it's solidly built, and the physics are good.

Mad Skills Motocross is an enjoyable piece of old school arcade motorbike action.

FUEL is the latest driving game from Codemasters. Throwing you into a post-apocalyptic world, you have to race for your survival and to earn the game's currency - fuel.

The major achievement of FUEL is its enourmous 5,560 square miles world. It also features dynamic weather events that look spectacular as you fly over the wastelands. This demo lets you roam freely around a portion of the world, either in a Buggy or on a motorbike. You can also compete in a race on the bike.

While the scenery is immediately impressive, it seems to make the game very power hungry, and to run FUEL smoothly even on the lower detail setting, you'll need a high-end PC. The driving is very much arcade style, and you are free during a race to take whatever route you want between checkpoints. It's not the best driving experience ever - last year's PURE was faster and more enjoyable - but it's certainly the biggest. Control feels quite floaty - as if the vehicles aren't entirely on the ground.

If you enjoy the racing here, the full game sounds great, with more space to explore than in any other game. It's a big download for a demo, but driving fans will love messing around in the post apocalyptic hills and valleys of FUEL.

FUEL is a great concept, but is let down by a slightly weak driving experience.

You begin City Racing with a wrecked car being taken to a garage, and are introduced to a mechanic who gives you a little introduction to the game. Like other sandbox racers, you can drive freely around the city, and find various events to win to increase your ranking, and win credits to upgrade your car, or buy a better one.

Visually, City Racing is quite odd. The city is fairly generic, although it's quite big. The vehicles look vaguely futuristic, but not beautiful, and the pedestrians walking the streets are pretty outdated. The gameplay is spoiled by really wooden physics - you feel like you're driving a bumper car, and there is no real sense of speed.

The language in the game will amuse anyone who likes bad English, as the text throughout is very badly translated. The best thing about City Racing is that it's free.

A free sandbox racing game sounds great, but City Racing is a disappointing experience.

Ferrari Virtual Race is a free official Ferrari game that puts you behind the wheel of a selection of sports cars. Race up to seven other Ferraris around the legendary Mugelo circuit in Italy.

There are three cars to choose from, a 430 Scuderia, 599 Fiorano and 612 Scaglietti. They all handle differently, and you can race them in a mixed field of cars, or just against the same type. Ferrari Virtual Race has the usual options like manual or automatic, various camera modes and so on.

Ferrari Virtual Race's driving is pretty pleasing, not oversensitive like many simulators, and Mugelo is a goood track (it is a shame there's only one!). Opponents are good, and the three difficulty modes should suit everyone, although driving experts will no doubt have no trouble beating the hardest setting.

The sound is disappointing, but the graphics are good, with a nice motion effect at the edge of the screen, good car models and nice dust effects. There is an option in Ferrari Virtual Race to set up your own Ferrari online and race it in the game, but this is only available to people with a paid membership of the Ferrari website.

Ferrari Virtual Race may only have one track, but it's still one of the most impressive free PC racing games to date.
