A connection with MyPhoneExplorer is established very quickly, and the package detects the device either via USB cable, Bluetooth or Wifi. The installarion process varies a little depending on the device, so check out the instructions on the MyPhoneExplorer website. the Once you've synced, you can pretty much access everything on your PC. Perhaps one of the main uses for it is to co-ordinate your contacts. This is made very simple through MyPhoneExplorer and you simply need to click the 'Phone' or 'SIM' option under the 'Contacts' tab.

In terms of presentation and performance, MyPhoneExplorer can't be faulted. In fact, the only niggly thing about the program is the fact that it installs an eBay toolbar in your browser by default (it's easy to skip this step though).

If you use a Sony Ericsson or Android phone and need to sync it with your PC, MyPhoneExplorer presents probably the best platform for doing so.

BluetoothView is a small utility that runs in the background and monitors the activity of Bluetooth devices around you. For each detected Bluetooth device, it displays the Device Name, Bluetooth Address, Major Device Type, Minor Device Type, First Detection Time, Last Detection Time and other minor details. The program works very discreetly and only notifies you in the taskbar with a popup when it has discovered a new device. However, if you don't want the balloon in your taskbar, you can always instruct it to use a beep sound instead. To be honest, unless your bluetooth detector on your PC is really poor you don't really need this utility but then again, if you constantly work between Bluetooth devices, then you'll find it a much better way to find and connect than manually searching for them.

Overall, the LG PC Suite is a great piece of software from LG. It's a shame it only developed the software for its own phone as it would have been nice to use it with other phones, especially Android smartphones.

Bitpim allows you to transfer and edit data from your mobile device to your computer and back. The application works with most CDMA phones but will interact best with specific models from brands like LG, Samsung or Motorola.

Once your phone is connected to your computer simply select the option to synchronize the device. A little pop-up window will allow you to select what data to choose from your phone.
It normally lists everything, from your calendar to contacts and messages to music and wallpapers. Transferring is fairly quick.
Once the data is uploaded to the Bitpim program you can edit it and make any changes.
Send it back to your device and Bitpim will ask you whether you want to replace or add the information.
I did find Bitpim's interface a little sparse and didn't really like how it opened numerous windows at startup.

Bitpim will not always work properly via Bluetooth, so its best to connect your mobile phone via a USB cable.
