Samsung Kies is Samsung's official tool for Android based devices which allows you to manage music and videos.

Microsoft Office Word Viewer is a handy tool that lets you view or print any Microsoft Word document quickly, without having to install Microsoft Office in its entirety.

After a simple install process, run Microsoft Office Word Viewer and you're presented with an Open File dialog window. Remember: you can't create, change or save any document in Microsoft Office Word Viewer. Select your chosen file (the viewer supports DOCX files via a converter, as well as older DOC and other formats).

Upon opening your document, you'll see that Microsoft Office Word Viewer displays just as it would in the original Microsoft Word, only without any of the editing tools. This means that you can see editorial notes and changes, if they have been tracked on the document. Additionally, you may access the file's properties window which will display statistics and authorship information, along with other details.

While you cannot export or save any document from Microsoft Office Word Viewer, you do have two options for obtaining a copy of the text. You may either print the document (which works just as well as printing from the full version of Word), and you're also allowed to copy the text and paste it into another application.

In all, Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2007 is a small and useful free download for viewing Microsoft Word documents. While it has no editing functions, it lets you read documents from any version of Microsoft Word with ease.

Download Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2007 12.0.6038.3000 in Softonic

SPSS 21.0

Important Note: SPSS does not work with Windows XP Home Edition. It requires Windows XP Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional, Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Enterprise.

IBM SPSS Statistics is the ultimate tool for managing your statistics data and research.

This super-app affords you complete control over your data. It allows you to make complex graphs and illustrations from statistics and is firmly aimed at professionals who want to solve business and research problems. To facilitate this, SPSS features a wide range of analytical functions that take the pain out of collating data.

SPSS offers detailed analysis options to look deeper into your data and spot trends that you might not have noticed. You can test out hundreds of different variables on your data to see how figures or performance would change under different circumstances, while the app contains multiple advanced features that will allow you get the max from your data.

An array of features

Among these features are excellent sharing options, automated models, the ability to operate server versions of IBM SPSS Statistics Base and modules on IBM mainframe servers, a syntax editor, integration with Microsoft Office, and much, much more. In order to get a better idea of the functions and features, take a look here.

Obviously, such power comes at a price. The SPSS download is pretty large, and once you do have the program installed, it’s a pretty steep learning curve until you find your feet. You could argue that SPSS is actually a glorified version of <taglink type="program" country="en" id="121166">Excel</taglink>, but with far more options and power behind it, it’s an impressive beast. As a result, domestic users may be intimidated and would be better off getting started on a simpler data management app.

If you’re serious about statistics, then SPSS is as good as it gets.

Download SPSS 21.0 in Softonic

Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus 15.0.4454.1002

Microsoft Office 2013 is a suite of productivity applications designed to help you improve the way you work.

What's new in Office 2013?

Microsoft Office 2013 is by no means a revolutionary update to the venerable office suite but this is the first version of Microsoft Office that has good cloud integration and a touch-friendly interface.

SkyDrive will be the backbone of Microsoft Office 2013. Settings, documents, templates, and even custom user dictionaries will all be synced to the cloud so that you have a consistent Office experience on whatever device, wherever you are.

There are also new social features shown in Microsoft Office 2013 including automatic picture importing from services like Facebook and Flickr. Easier sharing also brings along easier collaboration. Users can now hold a multi-person video conference while editing a single document.

What you get inside Office 2013

PowerPoint 2013

Microsoft kept the ribbon interface (love it or hate it) in PowerPoint 2013, but it is now hidden by default on the Window RT version of Microsoft Office 2013. You can bring up the ribbon with a tap of a button. The ribbon can also be hidden on the desktop version with a simple double click.

PowerPoint will also feature full stylus support to make giving presentations easier. Users can annotate their slides instantly. There's also a great new feature where the presenter can have notes on his or her screen but only have the main slide open on the audience's screen.

Outlook 2013

Outlook 2013 is receiving a Metro-styled interface as well, but with lots of new functionality too. First of all, Aero Peek, a feature that was first introduced in Windows 7, makes its way into Outlook. With Aero Peek, users can now quickly hover over their Contacts, Calendar, or Tasks and have a fully manipulable pop up display.

One of the more impressive features that was built into Outlook 2013 is its ability to intelligently suggest events and appointments. Outlook will detect when someone wants to create an appointment by looking for locations, time, and specific keywords. This makes adding events to your calendar much easier.

Last but not least, Microsoft also announced powerful developer tools to create plugins for Outlook. They demoed a fully interactive Bing map within a body of an email, without having to jump into a browser.

Word 2013

Word 2013 didn't receive as much of an overhaul, but Microsoft worked hard on polishing it up. Settings, defaults, templates and user dictionaries will all be synced between each version of Word so you'll have one unified user experience with Word on every one of your devices. There's a new reading mode that formats your documents to be touch friendly like pages of a book. Videos from YouTube can now be embedded directly within documents.

OneNote 2013

OneNote has always been an excellent note taking app and this latest version is no different. Users can import pictures, video, and annotate all of these things within the application. Microsoft demoed its new "radial menu" for touch friendly editing. Hold down and a circular menu will pop up. Drag your finger to whatever option you want and let go. This interface is intuitive and powerful, letting users change fonts, colors, and formatting within seconds. Unfortunately, this touch menu has only been featured in the OneNote MX preview application.

Excel 2013

Microsoft finally acknowledged how complicated Excel is for the average user. Excel 2013 is still going to be a powerful tool for data analysis, but Microsoft has made an effort to simplify processes across the application. Users now have access to menus that preform "quick analysis" for their data, simply by selecting an option from a menu. Excel looks at the data and offers the best solution for presenting or organizing it.

Installation issues

Installation of Microsoft Office 2013 can be a bit of a pain on Windows 7. The Office 2013 preview downloads as an image file, which will need to be burned to a disc or you'll need a drive virtualization tool like Daemon Tools to create and mount the image. Windows 8 users will not have to worry about this as the operating system includes a disc virtualization tool.

Compatibility concerns

Microsoft Office 2013 creates a nice ecosystem for those already using their office suite but it may not be enough to woo users from other services or applications that are free. Microsoft also announced that Microsoft Office 2013 will only be compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8. XP and Vista users will be left out in the cold.

Conclusion

While Microsoft Office 2013 received some nice updates, there was nothing revolutionary that was announced. Microsoft played the catch-up game with Microsoft Office 2013, giving its office suite many features its competitors like Google Drive and Apple Mail have had for a while.

Overall, Microsoft Office 2013 offers some huge improvements over its previous versions with great cloud and touch features but this may not be enough for it to say as the king of office suites.

Download Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus 15.0.4454.1002 in Softonic

Microsoft Outlook 2013 15.0.4420.1017

Microsoft Outlook 2013 is Microsoft's flagship email application, which is included in Office 2013.

If you think that Microsoft Outlook 2013 would be getting some dramatic new features and improvements like the rest of the applications in the Office 2013 suite, you'd be wrong. For the most part, Microsoft Outlook 2013 remains much the same as the 2010 version. Here's what did change:

The entire app has a flattened look, which goes with the Windows 8 design language. The whole application is monochromatic, featuring lots of white and gray with the occasional blue accents. To me, this color scheme makes it hard to differentiate specific elements of the interface. There are no more icons and everything is text heavy. At the bottom, you'll find sections for mail, calendar, people, tasks and more. Gone are the buttons and icons, giving way to a minimalist text look.

There is a touch mode in Microsoft Outlook 2013, which brings up the same menus that it does in the other apps in Office 2013. There is a bar with frequently-used commands like reply, delete, move, flag and mark. This is great and gives Microsoft Outlook 2013 a good touch experience.

You can now pinch to zoom in the calendar to switch between day, week, and month views. If you are in any other section of Microsoft Outlook 2013 besides the calendar, you can now hover over the calendar section to bring up a pop up of the calendar and your tasks for the day. The calendar will also show weather information of your locale.

Microsoft Lync is still fully integrated into Microsoft Outlook 2013 so you can view a colleague's status and start an audio or video call right from within Microsoft Outlook 2013.

While the mail view is a bit difficult to read because of the monochromatic color scheme, Microsoft Outlook 2013's people view is much improved. Contacts will now pull in information from online sources like Facebook and Linkedin if you've tied these services with your Microsoft Account.

Microsoft Outlook 2013 will combine duplicate contacts, creating one contact card with consolidated information. If your contact has a picture, the picture will show up as a thumbnail next to the contact. It's strange that Microsoft didn't include this in the mail view of Microsoft Outlook 2013, which would help visually differentiate between different emails.

Even more baffling is the lack of threaded messages in Microsoft Outlook 2013. You'll still have to hunt for previous emails from a conversation. Oddly enough, Microsoft's own Mail app in Windows 8 and Windows RT features threaded messaging.

Another annoying change is Microsoft Outlook 2013's notifications. There's no way to dismiss them all in bulk so you'll be closing tons of alerts if Microsoft Outlook 2013 comes back online. Microsoft also got rid of the ability to act on an email from the notification, which was a very useful feature.

If you didn't like Outlook 2010, Microsoft Outlook 2013 won't win you over. While there are some useful new features, its bland interface and missing features make Office 2013 feel like an antiquated email client.

Download Microsoft Outlook 2013 15.0.4420.1017 in Softonic

Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 is a powerful presentation application that's included in Office 2013.

As with most of the other applications that come bundled in Microsoft Office 2013, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 includes a redesigned welcome page that's actually useful. You are given a list of recently-opened files on the left as well as a grid of templates to get started. You can also search at the top for more templates if you don't see one to your liking. Clicking or tapping on a template will give you a window to choose a variation of it.

As with most new releases of PowerPoint, Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 includes a bunch of new themes, templates, and transitions. Microsoft also included some basic photo editing features. You can choose a filter for the photos you import into Microsoft PowerPoint 2013. These editing features are basic and feel a bit like an afterthought. You'll still want to use a program like Photoshop to do heavy photo modifications.

Speaking of photos, you can now import both photos and videos from the internet. Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 integrates with the services you've linked to your Microsoft account. You can pull in video from YouTube and photos from Facebook.

Formatting photos and arranging them has improved in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 as well. There are the new guides that are consistent across Microsoft's Office products. Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 is smart enough to show you how your graphics will be aligned with other graphics on the slide.

SkyDrive integration is in full effect in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 so you can pick up working on your presentation from any device that has SkyDrive linked. There's even a PowerPoint web application to do some basic edits. You'll still want to use a computer or tablet that has Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 to do serious work.

New to Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 is the 'Presentation View,' which throws up a handy prompter screen on setups with multiple monitors. There is an elapsed timer so you can help pace yourself and not run over a certain time. You can have notes on the side of your slides so you won't be tempted just to read off of the slide. This happens all unbeknownst to people in the audience.

PowerPoint 2013 has received many updates that make it easier to use and continues to be one of the best applications for making presentations. Be sure to check out our in-depth look at PowerPoint 2013's new features here.

Download Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 15.0.4420.1017 in Softonic

Excel 2013 15.0.4420.1017

Excel 2013 is a powerful workbook and database application that's included in Office 2013.

Excel has always been an immensely powerful application, if you know how to use it. Microsoft specifically targeted ease of use for Excel 2013. When users input data, Excel 2013 will analyze the type of data it is and will give suggestions about the best way to present the data. If the data is comprehensive enough, it will even analyze it and present an option to make a PivotTable automatically.

There is also a new feature called Flash Fill, which will help put badly formatted data into something comprehensible. Data will be sorted into the appropriate columns for you. This takes so much work out of manually organizing your data that Flash Fill may be the killer feature for those deciding whether to upgrade to Excel 2013.

One big improvement in Excel 2013 is how organic it feels. There are little, quick animations that mimic those found in Windows Phone 8, helping to make the program feel less clinical. The animations aren't distracting and help guide your focus to what Excel is currently doing.

The ribbon interface stays but has been tweaked to be more usable.
Windows 8 32 Bit

Windows 8 is Microsoft's latest operating system that combines the tablet Modern UI interface with the traditional Windows desktop.

Overview

With this trial of Windows 8, users have an opportunity to test a slick and solid operating system that promises to revolutionize the way you do everything, from browsing the web to viewing multimedia files.

This is the most ambitious operating system that Microsoft has ever created. By blending both a tablet interface and a traditional desktop interface, Microsoft hopes that Windows 8 can please everyone. But can it? Let's find out.

Modern Interface

As seen in the numerous preview versions, the Windows 8 interface is one of the largest changes to the Windows operating system. Every app you install on the new Modern interface is shown in multiple colored squares on your screen. Each square acts as a shortcut to open the program or the corresponding directory. Each panel is also fully customizable, so you can group apps together.

New features

Flash

The use of <taglink type="program" country="en" id="5263">Flash</taglink> in Windows 8 is one of the primary updates. Working together, Microsoft and Adobe have created a situation-specific version of Flash that works with Internet Explorer 10. This ensures Flash will run when you want it do, such as during video play-back, but won't affect your PC's performance or battery life by running when unnecessary. This is especially important for Windows RT users who value battery life and performance on the go.

New apps

There are also quite a few Windows Store expansions when it comes to apps included natively in the Modern interface. Bing has added apps for travel, sports and news, for example. There are also, of course, existing Modernapps that were released in conjunction with Windows 8. Some of these include Weather, Maps and Finance.

Surfing the web

Windows 8 ties up a lot of loose ends in terms of stability issues seen in its preview versions. There is also a new feature users can look forward to called Flip ahead, <taglink type="program" country="en" id="318673">IE</taglink> which uses crowd-sourcing to determine what web page you're the most likely to click on next during your web browsing. To advance, all you have to do is swipe the screen if you have touch screen capabilities or click the forward arrow onscreen to get to the next page. This feature works while searching <taglink type="program" country="en" id="131050">Bing</taglink>, of course, but is also compatible with other search engines, so long as you're using Internet Explorer 10.

There's also now a Share feature in Windows 8's Modern UI version of the IE browser that lets you share web pages with friends - just open the Charms Bar then choose Share and you can Tweet or Facebook your page.

In addition, both desktop and Modern UI versions of this Windows 8 have Flash 11.3 built right into it.

Mail

In Windows 8, the Mail feature has also been tweaked to add a better user experience. You can pin multiple inboxes to your start screen to differentiate between your different email accounts more easily. There is also a useful threaded conversation feature, which groups emails from the same conversation thread. Microsoft also addressed some stability issues to ensure less instances of app crashes.

Windows 8 Pro

Stepping up to Windows 8 Pro, users will gain the following features:

BitLocker Drive Encryption and BitLocker To Go

This is great for people looking for more security. BitLocker will encrypt the entire drive and prevent hackers from getting to your precious information if your computer is ever lost or stolen. BitLocker To Go will provide the same level of encryption to your USB drives.

It's nice to see business oriented features like this be included in a consumer oriented version of Windows 8.

Functionality Hyper-V virtualization

This is a very technical piece of software that's oriented toward IT professionals, allowing them to deploy software and manage servers.

Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop is a great feature for those who need to access their computer remotely. It's also a great tool for those who need to provide tech support for their friends and family. This feature was first introduced in Windows XP but has been refined over subsequent versions.

Windows Media Center

Fans of Windows Media Center will have to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro to get these features back. This is also the first time that Windows Media Center will be a paid add-on for Windows 8. This will anger many Windows users who have home theater PCs.

Windows 8 Enterprise

Going up to Windows 8 Enterprise will add the following features:

Windows to go

This feature will allow Windows 8 to be installed and run from a mass storage devices like USB drives and external hard drives. This makes it fully manageable in corporate environments. This makes imaging and deploying a copy of Windows simple for system administrators.

Access via DirectAccess VPN

This allows users to work from home as it will create a secure connection to a company's internal network from anywhere.

BranchCahce

BranchCahce enables PC cache files from a central server, which helps to improve speed. This is perfect for companies that have offices in different locations. BranchCahce will enable servers to automatically retrieve and deploy local copies of files to remote clients.

AppLocker

This feature allows you to lock access to applications if you share a computer.

Conclusion

Microsoft has offered a lot of welcome changes in its Windows 8. Navigation on a desktop is still a bit tricky without touchscreen capabilities, but many will appreciate the simplicity of the Modern interface, as well as the completely redesigned apps that come with Windows 8. If you'd like more details on installing, just have a look at Lewis' handy blog post telling you how. Don't forget to check if you need the 32 or <taglink type="program" country="en" id="3344688">64bit version</taglink>.

Windows 8 is a necessary change for Microsoft but it remains to be seen if its gamble on this radical new operating system will be adopted by consumers.

Download Windows 8 32 Bit in Softonic

If you're interested in the 2007 version, however, read on!

If you've ever needed to create a flowchart for work or school, you'll understand how difficult (and messy!) it can be to try to draw one by hand.

Microsoft Visio is a valuable tool for anyone who needs to create works like drawings, network diagrams and calendars. You can even make office layouts and flowcharts. Ready-made templates are included in Microsoft Visio, or you can opt to start from scratch if that's your preference. A member of the Microsoft Office 2007 family, Microsoft Visio gives you a lot of options and is compatible with other Office programs, which makes it even more convenient.

Although there are many types of drawings you can make with Microsoft Visio, three basic steps are all most users will need to create ready-made templates of any design. Just choose a template you like and open it, drag shapes and connect as you like and lastly fill up the shapes with any text you want. That's really all there is to it with Microsoft Visio.

Making custom designs is the only really tricky part about using Microsoft Visio. Beginner users might find it difficult to learn to do. It also takes some time to navigate around the program's interface.

Great for just about any diagram need, Microsoft Visio is an easy-to-use program for students and employees alike.

Download Microsoft Visio Professional 2007 in Softonic

This version of Microsoft Excel has improved access across the board, from a cleaner interface to better usability. The ribbon-like interface caused controversy when it was first introduced, but it's much easier to navigate for beginners, since you can now see all the options instead of having them hidden away in menus.

That's not to say the application has become any simpler to learn to use. Microsoft Excel is still a bit intimidating for beginners, although luckily it comes with tons of templates that help users get a better handle on it. One of the best new features it comes with allows you to restore spreadsheets you've accidentally closed. Consequently, it's now much easier to correct mistaken actions. The graphs and graphics you can add to your tables are also much improved.

Sharing data is easy as well, since you can use the Microsoft Excel web app, which allows any invited people to view or edit your spreadsheets. There are even mobile versions so you can access your spreadsheets on the move.

Microsoft Excel sets the standard in spreadsheet software. It comes as part of Microsoft Office 2010, which also includes other leading apps such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. It is incredibly powerful, and while there is a lot to learn in order to get the most out of it, anyone will be able to produce very attractive presentations with the data they enter into Excel spreadsheets.

Microsoft Excel 2010 is essential for many people at work, and there isn't a better spreadsheet application available.

Download Microsoft Excel 2010 in Softonic

Whether presentations form a regular or occasional part of your life, take a look at Microsoft PowerPoint, which is a truly excellent presentation tool.

Biggest isn't always best, but in this case, kudos has to go to Microsoft for developing a tool that is both hugely comprehensive and very user-friendly. Microsoft PowerPoint features the ubiquitous 2010 ribbon interface, which makes it very easy to navigate and use. The interface is totally customizable, and as you click on the different elements of your presentation the appropriate set of editing tools appear.

Microsoft PowerPoint features all the editing tools you would expect of an Office product, as well as an impressive selection of presentation-specific options, such as transitions and animations. You can also add and edit a variety of other non-text elements, such as images, video, audio, hypertext and graphs. Where possible, Microsoft PowerPoint also supports drag and drop, making adding information and interesting elements to your presentation especially easy.

From a preparation point of view, Microsoft PowerPoint also excels. Under the file tab you'll find a document summary, including all the information - and tools to modify - non-presentation elements, such as security, compression and sharing and co-authoring options. The program includes functions for rehearsing your presentations to the minutest detail, while you can also record it to watch as a video. SharePoint is supported, and you can access a web version of your presentation via Windows Live.

All in all, Microsoft PowerPoint is an impressive product. User-friendly enough for everyone, but with the advanced features needed to produce really professional presentations, it's hard to think of a situation where Microsoft PowerPoint would not be a great option for users.

Microsoft PowerPoint is a great example of an excellent piece of software. Besides organizing text notes, the application allows you to insert images, audio and video into your notes.

Using Microsoft Office OneNote feels very much like working with a regular notebook, and the interface adopts a very natural approach. You can click anywhere on the page and start typing.
OneNote instantly inserts a box around what you're typing, into which you can insert items such as audio, links, sound, documents, email addresses and more.
You can pick things up and drag them to anywhere on the page.
Improving your productivity
It takes a while to find your feet with Microsoft Office OneNote because of the sheer scale of the app.
There are plenty of useful productivity-enhancing tools to discover, though. For instance, you can draw onto your documents using pens and highlighters, and clip snippets from web sites to insert into your notes.
You can tag notes with all manner of preset tags, which compliments Microsoft Office OneNote's powerful search functionality.
Managing your notebooks with Microsoft Office OneNote is very straightforward.
You can create multiple notebooks, allowing you to have separate ones for work, home or studies. These show up in the form of tabs running down the side of the page.
Each notebook in Microsoft Office OneNote can be divided into as many sections as you like, which take the form of differently colored tabs above the page.

Sharing your notes
The sharing capabilities of Microsoft Office OneNote are excellent. You can sync the documents online and share them with friends, colleagues or business associates (even if they don't have OneNote installed).
Furthermore, the application can be synced with Microsoft Outlook to schedule tasks in your calendar of time-related documents you've created.

Microsoft Office OneNote borrows the impressive spelling and grammar checking from Word, and it also allows you to translate highlighted text.
A thesaurus is available in English, French, German, Arabic, Spanish and Dutch.
Don't be put off by the daunting nature of the app.

Download Microsoft Office OneNote 2010 in Softonic

Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business 14.0.6029.1000

After introducing it officially back in July, Microsoft have now launched the final version of the long-awaited Microsoft Office 2010.

I tested both the Technical Preview and the Beta version released months ago, and happily I've found a bunch of new features and improvements in the final version. For starters, the Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business pack includes five apps, namely Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. If you need to test more Office apps, you can try Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus instead.

As regards appearance, all the Microsoft Office 2010 apps have been slightly modified. They still keep the "ribbon" interface – in a much clearer, almost minimalist style – but the Office button has been renamed to "File" and now shows a different pane. Not only does it include direct access to all document-related tasks, but also shows detailed information about the document you're currently working on.

Leaving changes aside, the truth is that Microsoft Office 2010 has pretty much the same features we already saw in the Technical Preview. The context menu in Word, for example, has been greatly improved and lets you see changes in real time as you browse through the different options. You can now add videos to your PowerPoint presentations, remove redundant messages from conversations in Outlook and insert small color charts inside cells in Excel spreadsheets. There are also tools to translate text, take and use screenshots, and apply special effects to the images you use in your documents. What's more, Microsoft Office 2010 now lets you save your documents on SkyDrive and share them online in just two clicks.

Regarding performance, Microsoft Office 2010 seems to be as fast and light on system resources as the Technical Preview. There's a significant improvement in the time the suite apps take to launch, and how they behave when working on your documents.

In all, Microsoft Office 2010 is an excellent productivity suite with great new features that make it easier and more comfortable to use, and also turn it into an even more professional solution for daily work tasks.

Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business lets you fully test the new, long-awaited version of the world's most popular productivity suite.

Download Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business 14.0.6029.1000 in Softonic

Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer supports the full range of PowerPoint file extensions including .ppt, . pptx, . pptm, . pot, . potx, . potm, . pps, . ppsx and . ppsm. When you've opened one file, it should automatically open others as the default viewer for PowerPoint files.

Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer is all you need to open PowerPoint files without having to go to the expense of installing PowerPoint itself.

Download Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 in Softonic
