Cleanup Assistant helps you keep your hard drive in good shape, while protecting your privacy and optimizing space usage. Besides, this new version includes five tools instead of the three original ones.

The program's interface has been slightly redesigned but it still lacks the ability to be resized, which gives place to a quite uncomfortable vertical scrolling. You can run any of the five tools included from here: Find large folders, Find duplicates, Clean your disk, Shred files and Drive wiper, although I think these last two could have been implemented as one.

Cleanup Assistant looks too simple, both in design and functions. It may be effective in its job but the overall impression is that it falls too short when compared to other similar tools. It would have been nice to know how much space you're saving or to create a backup copy before deleting anything, just to mention two examples.

Windows Explorer is often accused of being too simple. This is why using an alternative file manager is not a bad idea.

Flexkit Express is one of those alternative file managers that enable you to control all folders and files in your hard drive. Besides this basic functionality, the program hides some really nice aces up its sleeve such as a duplicate file finder, a file hash checker and a file analyzer and classifier. This means that apart from browsing the contents of your system, you'll be able to locate duplicate files, see the most frequent file types in your hard drive and check the size of your folders –which I personally found really useful. I also loved the button system to move around the folder hierarchy.

On the downside, the duplicate file tool is not as intuitive as I expected it to be. It does locate duplicate files, bit I'm not that sure about the criteria used by the program, not did I like the way you delete them, which is far from being easy.

Flexkit Express is an great file explorer with some nice extra tools, some of which could be improved.

Visual Multitool is useful if you need to quickly edit a large number of files. The application will allow you to search, view and edit text files in no time thanks to a set of specific tools to streamline your work task.

It’s unfortunate that the program's main interface is so unattractive, partly due to the way the elements are aligned, because apart from that, Visual Multitools works rather well. Visual Multitool is a good option if you’re looking to view and mass edit simple documents, like .txt or .html, and its "replace" and "history playback" tools should greatly simplify your work.
