Now the Flickr Uploadr is usually the weapon of choice to upload and send your photos onto the Flickr online service. Yet with FFXporter you can export them to Flickr straight from iPhoto. Once the plugin is installed and you've selected the photos to upload to the web, click export from the iPhoto menu bar and choose the FFXporter tab. You'll have to enter your login username and password for Flicrk.

Although not as advanced as Flickr Uploadr, it lets you adjust a number of settings like the safety level, who can see your pics, content type, size and whether or not to hide from public areas. Once you're done setting up, just click export to send them to Flickr. This can take some time if you've selected a lot of photos.

You can organize photos by photosets, but unfortunately FFXporter only lets you tag photos with rating. In this sense, you'll probably have to enter Flickr anyways to add tags to all your newly uploaded photos.

Despite limited tagging features, FFXporter is a simple little plugin to upload all your pics from iPhoto to Flickr.

Download FFXporter 0.4.2 in Softonic

The applications integrates maps with notes and a route data graph in a well designed interface. When creating a route in TrailRunner you can zoom into the map and pinpoint specific areas. The program also shows directions. It can load information and elevation data from openStreetMap and display routes in Google Earth.

TrailRunner wouldn't be of any use if it did not work with portable devices. Luckily, data and routes can be easily synced with your iPod or GPS device. Even better, if you use a Garmin Edge or ForeRunner you'll be able to handle your workouts from the Garmin Training Center. Maps can be exported to your mobile device as NanoMaps.

Obviously TrailRunner isn't immune to the odd bug every now and then, and you might notice it doesn't always find directions, but overall it works well.

TrailRunner is an excellent application to plan your own route and sync it to your mobile device.

Download TrailRunner 1.7 V247 in Softonic

If you're accustomed to sniffing out wireless networks near you, you will probably find KisMAC extremely useful. Not only is it great at mapping wireless networks, it can also give you details on their performance, show clients and reveal SSIDs, whether, cloaked, hidden or closed.

The first thing you'll have to do when launching KisMAC is selecting a driver. Even though the program offers up a list of drivers to choose from, this can be quite difficult. Read up on your Mac's hardware details to know which one works for you. Once you've found the proper driver you start scanning and searching for wireless networks. KisMAC display useful details for each of them and even features a graph view.

A cool little feature is the world map view for GPS, letting you map out GPS connections worldwide. KisMAC also offers a number of ways to crack WEP encrypt networks, which we don't encourage, except if you're cracking your own network for testing purposes. One of the strong features of KisMAC is the number of chipsets it supports, including Apple Airport, Cisco Aironet or Lucent Hermes I & II.

KisMAC is an excellent stumbler to track and crack wireless networks. Just use it wisely.

Download KisMAC 278 r in Softonic

The program actually works both ways, so you can receive data from your GPS and save it to your Mac or send data to your Garmin GPS. You'll need to make sure you have a USB to serial adapter to connect your GPS to your Mac to be able to use the application.

iGPS lets you choose whether you want to send or receive only waypoints, routes or both types of elements. Thanks to the drop down menus you can choose exactly which waypoint or route you want to select. You'll be able to save the information in GPX format which can then be read by any Garmin GPS device.

The trial prevents you from saving and sending to different GPS so you'll only be able to try it with one device.

With HoudahGeo you may "pin" photos to the locations where they were taken. The thus created information may be exported to EXIF tags as well as to Google Earth KMZ files. Such a file allows for browsing your photos within Google Earth.

HoudahGeo is a pure software solution for geocoding photos with latitude, longitude and altitude information. Just like a GPS camera HoudahGeo can store this information right within the image file - invisibly with no loss of quality. Unlike a GPS camera, HoudahGeo allows you to export your photos directly to Google Earth. More features, more flexibility, more control. Less money.

HoudahGeo may operate in a fully automatic mode when provided a track log file from a GPS receiver. Finer control is possible by attaching photos to waypoints created using a GPS device. When no GPS device is available, manual geocoding is possible through integration with the Google Maps service.

HoudahGeo presents you with a revolutionary interface: a hybrid between a wizard and traditional document based application. Let yourself be guided through 3 easy steps to geocoded photos.

Download HoudahGeo 1.4.9 in Softonic

JetPhoto Studio will import pictures from your camera as soon as it is connected to your PC. We like how the main interface includes a calendar to let you browse photos by date. Jet Photo Studio has fairly basic editing tools, and functions like crop, sepia, black and white, image contrast, and auto enhancing, which will allow you to personalize your photos. You can also batch resize your photos and protect them with a watermark. JetPhoto Studio also allows you to rate photos by adding a star next to the ones you prefer. You can set tags to quickly identify related pictures, but annoyingly you’ll have to create new ones for each individual album.

Making screensavers, wallpapers and slide-shows is extremely easy and quick. You can also create two types of Flash movies, stand-alone or deluxe, the first being a typical slide show, and the second showing an animated thumbnail list of your selected images. The only downside is that you can’t set the types of animations and speed of transitions.

You can use JetPhoto Studio to send images, via MMS or infrared, to your friends’ mobiles, yet however exciting this sounds, the feature is not really up to standards. You’ll actually need to know your friend’s mobile brand and exact model and even if you do, there’s no telling whether the service will work in your country. We found that JetPhoto Studio did not support this feature in Spain. Another promising feature is locating photos thanks to GPS and tagging them on Google Earth.

JetPhoto Studio also allows you to quickly upload images to the online photo sharing service Flickr, and it’s very easy to order quality printed copies via PrintExpress. The JetPhoto Server tool is also a good way for anybody with some scripting knowledge to upload and edit their photo albums onto their weblog or personal website.

Jet Photo Studio lets you manipulate photos in all sorts of ways, however some of its functions are not up to standards.

Download JetPhoto Studio 3.0 in Softonic

It’s fascinating to see 3D simulations and navigate through the solar system and all the stars outside it. What does the sky look like from Vega or the Pleiades? Finally, you can experience these beautiful views for yourself.

Voyager 4's stellar database is a complete and comprehensive compendium of data on more than 2.5 million stars. View the components of binary stars such as Alpha Centauri, or the 'Double Double' in Lyra - orbiting each other over hundreds of years.

Using the program will not be as difficult as you might expect for this sort of application. Its tools are quite intuitive although you will have to try it a bit before being able to really enjoy the experience. That said, there are so many functions and options you can get lost! I liked the Solar Neighbourhood feature which allows you to select the distance in light-years and see all the stars discovered so far, and of course rotate them to better understand their spatial postition.

It's both a professional tool for researchers and students, and an effective way for teachers (or parents) to show their students how things really work out there. Especially in this field, a navigable 3D rendering of the Universe will be much more effective than pages and pages of text.

Discover the Universe in a fascinating way with Voyager 4. Especially recommended for winter nights, when it's too cold to go outside and watch the sky for shooting stars.

Download Voyager 4.1 in Softonic

Originally written to make up for shortcomings in existing Mac GPS software, GPSRouteX already includes comprehensive GPS routing and navigation features.

GPSRouteX is designed to take full advantage of freely available data such as GPX files and Google Earth KML files. It is not moving-map GPS software, and it does not come with any data of its own. However, spend a while looking up freely available GPX data, and then pair it with Google Earth and gps2geX, and you'll have a full 3D "moving map" to complement the routing features of GPSRouteX (or use KisMAC to provide a more conventional 2D moving-map, and scan for wireless networks at the same time!).

Turn-by-turn driving directions can be downloaded using Google Earth (save the directions as KML and import them into GPSRouteX)... or you can build your own custom routes quickly and easily (then export them to Google Earth so you can see your route on the "map").

Download GPSRouteX 1.0 b3 in Softonic
