FastPictureViewer 1.0.31.0

If you're tired of the Windows native image viewer and want to use another tool to browse through your photos, look no further. We found it for you.

FastPictureViewer is a fast, straightforward photo viewer that lets you scan the contents of a whole photo folder in a very easy way. You can move along pictures with many different key combinations (arrow keys, + and – keys, page up and page down keys) and also the mouse wheel. Plus the mouse buttons can be customized to quickly zoom in a photo. The program works only with JPG and HD photo formats, and also supports XMP ratings which are compatible with popular photo tools like Adobe Lightroom.

That said, don't expect to find many other features in this program. FastPictureViewer doesn't include all the bells and whistles you could expect from an image viewer. I would say it's especially addressed to users who just need a tool to quickly review photos and pick those which need further editing.

The program features a sleek, dark interface with a minimalistic design that contributes to put all the attention on the photo itself.

FastPictureViewer is an attractive, easy photo viewer that's mainly focused on browsing large picture collections and doesn't include any extra tools like the ones you find in similar apps.

Download FastPictureViewer 1.0.31.0 in Softonic

SpeederXP 1.80

If you find your gaming experience limited by your hardware or prefer your action to be more fast and furious with every new release, then you might find this utility useful.

SpeederXP accelerates various aspects of your PC that in theory, should improve your gaming experience. This includes mainly your graphics card for games that demand a lot from it, your CPU for those that hog your processing power and your internet connection for those that are played over a LAN. In reality, if you're a serious gamer, you'll have a pretty decent setup and won't require this program to help you. However, if you are working on a slightly older system, then you will undoubtedly notice an improvement in the speed of your system.

How much this improves your gaming though depends on the game. Some users have complained that the program can lock up their system (probably due to overclocking) but in general, it does seem to provide at least a 20% boost to gaming speeds whilst it works. The slower your system, the more you will notice the benefits of course. On a fast system, you will barely notice or need any of this. The program operates via a throttle which the developers recommend cranking up to maximum although if your experience instability problems, you're best to leave it at a happy medium point. The program is updated regularly automatically with improvements although you need to pay to upgrade and receive the unlimited version.

A handy little utility for gamers on slow systems although serious gamers with decent equipment need not apply.

Download SpeederXP 1.80 in Softonic

Abrosoft FantaMorph 4.0.2

Remember that amazing morphing effect that made our jaws drop in Michael Jackson's Black or White videoclip? That was back in 1991 and graphic technologies have evolved a lot since then, but morphing animations still remain as an eye-catching effect you can now easily apply to your pictures with Abrosoft Fantamorph.

The program offers three trial versions (Standard, Professional and Deluxe), differing from each other in the amount of available tools and functions. We recommend trying the Deluxe one, although you can always select another in the Help – Choose Trial Edition menu if you change your mind.

Fantamorph stands out for its ease of use. Once you launch the program and pass the morphing capacity diagnosis test, a wizard leads you through the process of creating a morphing or warping effect. The first one creates a transition animation between two pictures, whilst the second one generates an animation based on a single picture. Both effects are worked out in a very similar way, so you'll be mastering them in almost no time.

Morphing is based on dots that you place on the picture to point out the exact areas the program will use to create the animation effect. So for example, to create a morphing effect between two close-ups, you add dots around the face, eyes, nose and so on, creating a dotted outline of the source image and arranging these same dots to coincide with the face, eyes, nose and everything else in the target image. So, the more dots you have, the more realistic your effect will look. Fantamorph does a good job at managing these dots: you can add dots simultaneously to both photos, move them around easily, lay a grid over the image for improved accuracy or even zoom in the picture. However, the zoom tool makes it a pain to move around the image as the working area is pretty small and cannot be resized. The same objection can be pointed out about the interface's buttons, which are too small to be comfortable. Luckily enough, you can count on tooltips to reveal their function.

For those of you who feel too lazy to start adding dots, Fantamorph includes an amazing tool called Face Locator which, as its name clearly states, is able to find the face area in any picture you want to use. This comes in very handy when you want to create a face morphing effect as it gets most of the work done for you.

In case the morphing and warping effects are not enough, the program features a wide range of effects you apply to your pictures, such as background images, masks, music or transition effects. You can select them through the wizard or from the program's interface, and see how they look like in the preview window. When your project is finished, you can export it as an AVI video, an image sequence, a webpage or even a screensaver, amongst others.

In short, if you want to create an appealing morphing effect in a surprisingly easy way, Fantamorph is definitely the application you're looking for.

Download Abrosoft FantaMorph 4.0.2 in Softonic

Kobo Deluxe 0.5.1

If you miss the taste of good ol' arcade classics, this is the perfect opportunity to go back in time and enjoy a true space battle.

Kobo is a Windows remake of Xkobo, a popular space shooter for X11 systems. This modern version achieves to maintain the look and feel of old arcade space games, including waves of colorful enemies to defeat, loads of explosions and a fast-paced soundtrack. Plus, it features joystick support so if you have one, plug it to your PC and you'll really feel back in the eighties!

Kobo's aim is simple: kill whatever moves on your screen and don't let your spaceship get in touch with anything. Your mission consists on destroying enemy space bases by firing their weak points: some of them are really easy but some others require more shooting. In fact, the only difficulty I found was the spaceship's movement itself: instead of drifting along, your ship moves following a grid pattern (such as, for example, the snake game in mobile phones) which takes a while to get used to.

Kobo is an old-style arcade game that provides nostalgic fun, but requires some ability to control the spaceship's movement.

Download Kobo Deluxe 0.5.1 in Softonic
