There is no official Instagram website, so users could only view and interact with their Instagram photos and feeds from their mobile phones. Until now. Instagram for Chrome lets users view their Instagram feed from within the browser. You can "like" and comment on photos. Users can even access popular and nearby Instagram photos.

While Instagram for Chrome works well, there are some user interface issues. The whole app itself is nothing more than a copy of the Instagram interface on a phone, but users can't go back a page. You will have to select whichever page you were on last from the menu options. While you can view photos within Instagram for Chrome, you can't download them or view them in higher resolution.

One more thing to note is that there's no way to log out of the extension. Of course you can uninstall Instagram for Chrome, but that's not an ideal solution if you want to switch accounts.

Overall, Instagram for Chrome is a good way to view photos from your Instagram account but the interface quirks get annoying quickly.

Instagrille runs through the Pokki desktop widgets app, and adds the Instagram logo to the task bar, next to the Windows button. Click the icon and the app pops up. You can view what's popular straight away, and if you sign in with your Instagram account, you can view your own photos and the feed from the users you follow.

Instagrille is attractive, although it would be nice if you could run it without Pokki too, as two icons are unnecessary!

Until Instagram themselves make one, Instagrille is a useful way to check out the photo sharing network without looking at your phone!
