Tired of waiting for Apple to update their version of Java? The OpenJDK OSX Build project fills the gap and is always one step ahead of official Apple Java builds.

OpenJDK (known as Open Java Development Kit before) is a free and open source implementation of the Java programming language. It was started by Sun Microsystems in 2006, and in 2011 the Mac OS X Port Project was created on OpenJDK with Apple making its first public contribution of code to the project.

OpenJDK OSX Build installs itself automatically into OS X after which you need to activate it in System Preferences. It instantly allows runtime taks to run automatically such as mini-programs and apps embedded in web pages. Be aware however that OpenJDK OSX Build is an open source project that does have some stability issues and crashes to deal with.

If you want to stay on the cutting edge of Java development, OpenJDK OSX Build is a must.

Download OpenJDK OSX Build 1.7 in Softonic
