Toribash 3.97

It's nice when once in a while, a platform fighting game like Toribash comes along which challenges conventions and adds something a little more interesting to the equation.

Toribash does this and a whole lot more by putting you in control of the type of moves you want to make. This addictive game features everything from Sumo to Kick Boxing and Sword Fighting to Judo. Just about anything is possible in a Toribash game where the characters look more like Lego men than real action figures but the amount of moves they can perform is literally infinite. The graphics in Toribash in fact are a downside in that they're not exactly very attractive but the gameplay more than makes up for it.

Note that Toribash may not be a game suitable for kids as heads and limbs break off with alarming regularity. The basic aim of the game is to fight an opponent and score points for the amount of damage you inflict. This basically means breaking them into smithereens! The more limbs you break in Toribash, the more points you get. To gain more points, each joint can be relaxed, contracted, extended or held which is what makes the gameplay so incredibly flexible since there are no set moves. In this demo version, you can only use limited servers plus you can't earn belts but for $20, you can upgrade to the full version.

If you're a martial arts fan, or just enjoy breaking limbs, you will love Toribash but parents should proceed with caution before letting their kids run wild on it.

Download Toribash 3.97 in Softonic

SUMo 2.14.4.122

SUMo, short for Software Update Monitor, scans your system and finds out whether there are newer versions for all the applications installed on your PC.
The whole process is fully automated and doesn't hardly require any user intervention. A couple of clicks is all you'll need to always enjoy the latest versions of your favorite software tools.

SUMo is, therefore, very easy to use. Both SUMo's system scanning and version checking are also quite fast. Once finished, you'll see a list with all the apps installed on your PC and the ones that need updating marked with a special icon.

However, the actual update process isn't that easy. The program displays a "Get update" button but instead of downloading the file or at least taking you to the developer's website, it only links to SUMo's website and a Google link to find the update by yourself.

Download SUMo 2.14.4.122 in Softonic

Sumotori Dreams 1.02

Sumotori Dream is a Windows sumo wrestling game starring giant robots. Sumo wrestling isn't a sport that many combat games developers choose to make simulations of. Based on the gameplay in Sumotori Dreams perhaps it's time they did.

The characters in this excellent 3D game aren't actually real sumo wrestlers, rather robotic characters made out of blocks. The object of each bout in Sumotori Dreams is to knock down your opponent before you fall yourself. This is easier said than done due to the clumsy way that the blocky wrestlers stagger around as if they're drunk.

The key when you play Sumotori Dreams seems to be to get in early and push the other fighter before you inevitably topple over yourself. You score a point for each knock down and the first to five points is declared the winner.

Incredibly, Sumotori Dreams weighs in at just 96Kb in size. This is particularly hard to believe given the slickness of the animation, the realistic game physics, the uber-cool lounge music soundtrack, and the various lighting options you can choose between. There's even a two player mode where you and a pal can tough it out on the same keyboard. Oh, and there's an awesome hidden game mode lurking inside Sumotori Dreams (I'll leave it to you to discover it, though).

Playing Sumotori Dreams gave me the biggest laugh I've had from a game in ages, and it's hard to fault it all. Perhaps in a future release they could add different fighters with different special abilities.

On seconds thoughts, that might take away the simplistic magic of Sumotori Dreams, which is a charming little game.

Download Sumotori Dreams 1.02 in Softonic
