This Windows Mobile 7 Theme will give your old Pocket PC the look of a new Windows Phone 7 Series device.

Windows Phone 7 is designed to look and feel much better than existing devices, and from. One of the features of the new OS will be a completely redesigned user interface in keeping with the dark and futuristic visuals of Windows 7.

The Windows Mobile 7 Theme for devices running the current Windows Mobile OS is designed to make your screen look and feel like WM7. In reality, though it bears little resemblance to the new operating system, probably because the Windows Mobile 7 Theme was designed before Windows Phone 7 was announced (hence, the name isn't even the same!)

The Windows Mobile 7 Theme doesn't change your device much at all, merely adding a darker Today screen background. Although they're included a transparent Start menu, there's little else to excite in here, as all the other menus, command bars and nav bars remain unaltered.

The Windows Mobile 7 Theme furnishes you with a pretty stylish background image, but it is far from a carbon copy of the new Windows Phone 7 Series.

Download Windows Mobile 7 Theme in Softonic

Se7en Look will transform your phone to give it the feel of a Windows 7 PC.

Windows 7 has been a major improvement on Microsoft's previous operating system, Vista. Although the OS isn't available as a mobile OS, you can at least style your device around it using Se7en Look.

The theme, which is compatible with Windows Mobile 6.5 devices, transforms the user environment, giving it a fresh new look. The first thing you'll notice after installing Se7en Look is the high impact new start-up screen featuring the Windows 7 logo.

Se7en Look also overhauls the Today screen, adding a cool blue background with a giant '7' on it. Open the main menu and you'll notice that many of the system icons have been changed to fit in with the Windows 7 style. These are very impressive and will make your device look even more modern.

The Se7en Look theme is nothing like the new Windows Phone 7 OS in its design, but it does make for a refreshing new look.

Download Se7en Look 0.5 in Softonic

Vista Water Theme is a Today Screen customization inspired by the latest Microsoft OS. It features a tranquil background image of a rippling pond, which gives your PDA a soothing quality.

Unfortunately the calmness of the image in the Vista Water Theme is spoiled somewhat by the sickly color scheme adopted. I felt the greens used in the status bars and in the Start menu drop-down should've been much darker, because the ones the designer has chosen made me feel a little queasy.

That said, if you're a nature lover with a soft spot for Windows then you'll probably quite like the Vista Water Theme.

Download Vista Water Theme 1.0 in Softonic

Vista for PDA adds a new background wallpaper to your Pocket PC featuring those famous swirly blue and green lines in front of a black backdrop. The text on the Today screen is changed to a gray color, which is perfectly readable.

Thankfully, Vista for PDA uses a background color on the Start menu, rather than a transparent box, making the icons and text easily visible. The theme also alters the colors of the top and bottom status bars in Windows Mobile, adding a rich royal blue/purple hue.

Although Vista for PDA won't add any Vista-style functionality to your device, it does make for a striking theme for fans of the Windows OS.

Download Vista for PDA 1.0 in Softonic

If you fall into the latter of these two groups, then you'll probably like Valentine Flowers, a Windows Mobile theme that adds a floral bouquet to your Pocket PC. The theme contains a background wallpaper with an image of a pink rose in front of a white background.

Other changes that Valentine Flowers makes to your Windows Mobile OS is the addition of a pink, semi-transparent Start menu drop-down, and deep red top and bottom status bars.

The main image in Valentine Flowers is a little old-fashioned for my liking, but it's certainly a romantic theme.

Download Valentine Flowers in Softonic

Vista Waves

Windows Vista has had more than its fair share of critics, but the operating system isn't all bad. Many will agree that the design and use of the Windows logo these days is much classier, and this theme attempts to recreate this on your Pocket PC.

The main element of the Vista Waves theme is, of course, its background image. The image is based fairly loosely around the Vista logo and the shiny, wavy effect that appears in Microsoft's latest operating system. It's quite pretty and is dark enough to allows the white next on the Today Screen display clearly.

Vista Waves also adds a transparent Start menu bar to Windows Mobile, as well as altering the colors of the top and bottom menu bars. Personally, I found this new purplish color a little too bright and loud and looking at it for too long will probably wear your eyes out.

If you're a hardcore Windows fan, Vista Waves will help you display your loyalty to the OS on your Pocket PC.

Download Vista Waves in Softonic

Windows 7 may be quite a long way off yet, but Microsoft has already given us a glimpse of what the new operating system may look like, and these early impressions are embraced in this Pocket PC theme.

The Windows 7 Theme transforms your Pocket PC by adding a striking new background image to the display. Complete with a cool starry blue backdrop and the new Windows logo, it provides an elegant and eye-catching wallpaper. What's more, the theme also alters the Start menu and adds new colors to the menu bars in Windows Mobile.

It may not give you any clues as to the new features of Windows Mobile 7, but this theme does give you the chance to dream of what the OS might look like.

Download Windows 7 Theme in Softonic

This skin adds a picture of the planet as the background image to your Today screen. It's a decent quality shot taken from above the United States, and if you look closely you can pick out details of the terrain.

Earth Theme also transforms some of the Windows Mobile OS elements such as the Start menu, navigation bars and menu backgrounds. Generally, the Earth-colored scheme works well, although some of the black text changes are quite unreadable.

This PDA theme is designed for VGA screens at 480x640, so only users with this kind of display on their device can really appreciate its beauty.

However, fans of Earth (and let's face it, that's most of us) will enjoy the view that this Pocket PC theme offers you.

Download Earth Theme VGA in Softonic

Darth Vader Theme

I don't know about you, but Darth Vader is one of my all-time favorite film baddies. In fact, the actor who played him once signed a Get Well Soon card for me at my local supermarket. Actually, I still have it in my attic and I'm welcome to offers over and above 100 bucks.

Sorry, I digress, this isn't an eBay posting, it's a review about a Darth Vader theme for Pocket PC. It's quite a nice one too. Designed by Alan's Pocket Portal, the theme features a close-up background image of Vader's head with the Star Wars logo next to it. It's a hand-drawn picture rather than a photograph, but it's quite realistic even though you only see one side of his face.

The theme also tweaks some of the menu, navigation bar and text colors of the Windows Mobile OS. For instance, the Today screen text is changed to a highly readable bright green, and the Start menu background colour goes to a dark gray. Generally, the colors compliment each other well and there are no horrid clashes.

If you're a fan of Star Wars then this is a pretty cool way of showing your passion for the movie series.

Download Darth Vader Theme in Softonic

Poorlyduck Vista Suit

Having heard lots of juicy gossip and seen pictures of the new Windows Mobile 7 OS, I'm itching to have a play with it. Unfortunately for me (and everyone else) it's not due out until 2009. Until then, why not give your OS an overhaul by revamping the interface?

Poorlyduck's Vista Suit allows you to skin your Windows Mobile operating system to make it look like its bigger brother, Vista. The customisations come in the form of a Zip file with a series of folders that contain new skins for different areas of the OS. The enhancements include a Vista Action screen, Commanger, Calculator, Audio manager, Cube, Today theme, and more.

Installing everything onto your device takes a while and is a little complicated because you need to make sure that the files and folders are copied into the correct directories in Windows Mobile. There are text files with instructions inside each of the enhancement folders though, and the details are pretty clear.

Once you've got everything installed at setup the new skins are pretty impressive and while they don't replicate Vista exactly, they certainly provide a flavour of the latest Windows desktop OS. Particular favourites of mine are the dialer, which adorns your on-screen keypad with shiny Vistaness; the Vista Audio Manager, which makes it much easier to organise your music; and the gorgeous Windows Media Player skin.

If you've got the patience and know-how to configure it, Poorlyduck Vista Suit is the perfect way to make your Pocket PC look like a new desktop PC!

Download Poorlyduck Vista Suit in Softonic

This mantra can certainly be applied to Windows Mobile devices, because if you're tired and fed-up of looking at the same Windows Mobile interface all day long then restyling it could be the best thing to do to freshen things up a little.

Abs764 is stylish theme for Pocket PC that will give you the chance to put a cool, futuristic frontage onto the mobile OS. It features a kind-of blue planet with two moons orbiting it as a background to your Today screen.

I don't think it's supposed to be Earth. Maybe Venus. Does Venus have moons? I'm not sure. Anyway, it's very well rendered and whatever it is it looks pretty neat.

Besides furnishing your mobile with this background, Abs764 also applies some restyling to your Windows Mobile interface, altering the menus and toolbars, as well as changing certain colours, graphics and text elements within the operating system.

It's all done very well, but if blue isn't your colour then you might not like it as this relies very heavily on shades of blue.
It's not the most fun Pocket PC theme around, but Abs764 certainly adds a refreshing galactic twist to your device.

Download Abs764 Theme in Softonic
