Bitpim allows you to transfer and edit data from your mobile device to your computer and back. The application works with most CDMA phones but will interact best with specific models from brands like LG, Samsung or Motorola.

Once your phone is connected to your computer simply select the option to synchronize the device. A little pop-up window will allow you to select what data to choose from your phone. It normally lists everything, from your calendar to contacts and messages to music and wallpapers. Transferring is fairly quick.

Once the data is uploaded to the Bitpim program you can edit it and make any changes. Send it back to your device and Bitpim will ask you whether you want to replace or add the information.

I did find Bitpim's interface a little sparse and didn't really like how it opened numerous windows at startup.

Bitpim will not always work properly via Bluetooth, so its best to connect your mobile phone via a USB cable.

I was a little skeptic at first as to the quality of the images that Renew would come up with. All the images I found did look good, however they were of varying sizes and I often found I had to adjust them to make them display properly. Similarly, I found that Renew could take some time in refreshing images.

The simple little application activates the change at the click of a button, and you can immediately enjoy your screensaver on your desktop. If you are tired of seeing your screensaver on your desktop just restore your original wallpaper.

Wallsaver is easy to use and does not particularly use up a lot of RAM. We did notice some text to still be in French in the application window, and it would be nice to have that translated to English for non-French speaking users.

Despite the little language issue, Wallsaver is a good little program to set up your favorite screensaver as your wallpaper.

With Phone Wallpaper X you can edit and upload background images to your mobile phone.

Thanks to an all encompassing interface, creating your mobile wallpapers is a quick, streamlined process. You start off by choosing your image, then edit it, select the size you want, save it in a gallery and upload it to your phone.

Although the editing features are far from advanced, you can choose from a few filters, adjust the quality and size via drag bars and change the color. JetPhoto Studio stores and organizes all your digital shots.

JetPhoto Studio will import pictures from your camera as soon as it is connected to your PC. We like how the main interface includes a calendar to let you browse photos by date. Jet Photo Studio has fairly basic editing tools, and functions like crop, sepia, black and white, image contrast, and auto enhancing, which will allow you to personalize your photos. You can also batch resize your photos and protect them with a watermark. JetPhoto Studio also allows you to rate photos by adding a star next to the ones you prefer. You can set tags to quickly identify related pictures, but annoyingly you’ll have to create new ones for each individual album.

Making screensavers, wallpapers and slide-shows is extremely easy and quick. You can also create two types of Flash movies, stand-alone or deluxe, the first being a typical slide show, and the second showing an animated thumbnail list of your selected images. The only downside is that you can’t set the types of animations and speed of transitions.

You can use JetPhoto Studio to send images, via MMS or infrared, to your friends’ mobiles, yet however exciting this sounds, the feature is not really up to standards. You’ll actually need to know your friend’s mobile brand and exact model and even if you do, there’s no telling whether the service will work in your country. We found that JetPhoto Studio did not support this feature in Spain. Another promising feature is locating photos thanks to GPS and tagging them on Google Earth.

JetPhoto Studio also allows you to quickly upload images to the online photo sharing service Flickr, and it’s very easy to order quality printed copies via PrintExpress. The JetPhoto Server tool is also a good way for anybody with some scripting knowledge to upload and edit their photo albums onto their weblog or personal website.

Jet Photo Studio lets you manipulate photos in all sorts of ways, however some of its functions are not up to standards.

Vladstudio have come up with a pack of 15 very elegant wallpapers for Christmas.

Ranging from snowy night landscapes to snowmen gathering around a fire, snowflakes or a present-spouting volcano, the 15 different wallpapers designed by Vladstudio are all very impressive. You'll find a majority of drawings but also a few stunning landscape photographies, mainly of pine forests and snowy winter valleys. Like many, I really enjoyed the last installment in the Batman series, Batman Begins, and felt that it was a long-overdue return to form for the moody superhero. As a result, I'm now getting pretty excited at the prospect of seeing the new-look 'Batty' take on the Joker when The Dark Knight is released in 2008.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm hoping to goodness that the third installment of the Resident Evil movie series is better than the stinking turkeys that went before it. Having read the plot I'm not sure it will be - Earth is inhabited by zombies and only a few people have survived. Desky is a program to change the desktop-picture fast and without System Preferences. Simply drag a picture on Desky. It will check the format and change the desktop to this picture. You can also drag Desky into the Sidebar to use it there, or into the Menu of the Finder window.
