Pocket Digital Clock 1.1.10

If you use a Windows Mobile Pocket PC then you'll probably have noticed that the built-in clock on the today screen isn't particularly thrilling.

If you want to add a more attractive and functional clock to the main screen of your device then you could give Pocket Digital Clock a try. The application replaces the network provider information section on the Today screen with a large white-on-black digital clock display. The clock displays hours, minutes and seconds, and it also shows you the date above the timepiece itself.

The program is a bit awkward to install - you need to reset your device after installing the CAB file and even then I had to play around a bit with files and registry keys. Once it's running it looks pretty slick though and has a very small memory footprint so you shouldn't notice any adverse effects on your device's performance, like so many plug-ins cause these days.

Ultimately though, Pocket Digital Clock doesn't really add any amazing new functionality to your device. The fact that the preset Windows Mobile time and date display appears above the clock highlights the fact that this app is merely duplicating what you already have.

However, if you want a clearer way to quickly check the time, Pocket Digital Clock does an adequate job.

Download Pocket Digital Clock 1.1.10 in Softonic

PocketOutlook Eraser 1.1

It's great being able to access Outlook on the move on Pocket PC, but I often find the process of synching with my desktop a little annoying. It's often difficult to properly sync because you don't necessarily want all the mail data automatically copied across, and if you have the same infomation on your handset and your PC, these entries won't be synched after pairing.

PocketOutlook Eraser provides a simple, lightweight solution for removing contacts, tasks, and appointments from your device. Not only does it make synching a lot easier, but it also frees up memory on your Pocket PC by getting shot of stuff you don't need anymore.

The best thing about this app is its simplicity. You simply need to check the records you want to delete from Outlook, and the program automatically takes care of it. The only disappointing thing is that it doesn't support all email clients.

If you're looking for a tool to clean up your Outlook data, you'd be hard-pressed to find something easier than PocketOutlook Eraser.

Download PocketOutlook Eraser 1.1 in Softonic

WMSnapshot 1.0

From time to time you may need to take screen grabs of your Pocket PC, for instance, if you want to report a fault to a tech support site or present a tutorial or software presentation for someone.

WMSnapshot is designed to give you the ability to make quick captures of your Windows Mobile screen. It's free to download and is installed easily through a Cab file.

The program works in a different way to many Pocket PC screen-grabbing tools in that it has no user interface to speak of. Instead, you activate the grabbing feature by clicking on the program icon (a little strange, because doing so only grabs the Start menu screen or Applications menu).

Possibly the best way to use the program though is to set up a hotkey that will activate the grab when pressed. You'll need to do this from within the 'Buttons' menu within the Windows Mobile settings, but there is no option to do this from within WMSnapshots itself.

All of the snaps you take are stored within your My Documents/My Pictures folder (or the default folder where your images are normally saved).

Again, there's no option for changing the destination within MPSnapshots.
Ultimately this is the crux of the program - it's great for taking quick snapshots, but lacks anything in the way of options or editing features.

Download WMSnapshot 1.0 in Softonic

zSMS 0.6

zSMS is a handy application which was written in order to allow a PocketPC (Windows Mobile 5.0 based) to send SMS messages through a Bluetooth cell phone. The current version enables you to send SMS to one of your mobile contacts or to enter the destination phone number manually. Please note that the Bluetooth device must be paired through the PDA's Bluetooth interface beforehand. The message is then sent to the mobile phone through Bluetooth sockets, using AT commands. The message content is currently sent as-is (the phone number, however, is stripped of non-digits. Be aware that, depending on your cellular plan, you may have to pay for sent messages.

To install zSMS, just download the CAB file, copy it to your mobile device and launch it using File Explorer. On the first launch, you will be prompted to select your Bluetooth phone from the list of paired devices.

Download zSMS 0.6 in Softonic
