RIFT 1.4

Are you looking for an alternative to <taglink type="program" country="en" id="323479">World of Warcraft</taglink>? Look no further: Trion's RIFT is a polished, well developed and highly playable MMORPG.

Set in a world called Telara, RIFT at first looks a bit generic, the style of the game is pretty standard fantasy stuff, but it soon shows itself to be unique in some important ways, and very well designed.

You begin as either a Guardian or a Defiant, and the develop your class from one of four 'callings'. These are your fairly standard Warrior, Cleric, Mage and Rogue, but can be augmented to alter and improve your characters abilities. It looks complex to start with, but the system is introduced gently, and gives players a great deal of choice and flexibility as their game progresses.

The background of RIFT, that Telera is a world on the brink of destruction, throws you straight into a dramatic struggle right from the start. The introductory sequence of missions teaches you the ropes well, and is likely to get you hooked. RIFT looks great, and the the relatively compact world means you won't be travelling for too long between quests. The RIFTs themselves are tears in reality, which allow evil monsters to pour in from another plane. These add an interesting dynamic to the game, and are great looking dramatic events.

RIFT offers some innovations inthe fantasy MMORPG genre, while being totally accessible to fans of these games. It can be a little confusing for absolute beginners, but RIFT's excellent community and support forums mean you will be able to get the help you need.

RIFT doesn't reinvent the fantasy MMORPG, but is a well rounded and very playable alternative universe to WoW.

Download RIFT 1.4 in Softonic

World of Warcraft 3.0.3.9653

World of Warcaft is not just a game. It's a huge online role-playing game enjoyed by millions of people worldwide.

The story of World of Warcraft began in 1994 with the launch of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, a real-time strategy adventure. Ten years and a few sequels later the series took the leap onto the online world with World of Warcraft, which has nowadays become the world's leading MMORPG.

Being a subscription-based and online-only title, the first thing you must do after installing World of Warcraft is to open a Battle.
net account and activate it with your credit card. Then launch the game, enter your username and password on the welcome screen and you'll be ready to join the adventure.

Your first steps in World of Warcraft obviously include the creation of a character and the selection of the realm (that is, the server) where you're going to play.
These are both important choices, as they will define the way you play World of Warcraft. For instance, playing as a warrior, who can withstand the most powerful attacks, is certainly not the same as playing as a priest, who specializes in healing other players.
Also, if you choose a PVP server (rather than a PVE one) you must be ready to fight other players as well as computer-controlled monsters.
This is just the reflection of the battle between Alliance and Horde, the two warring factions in World of Warcraft.
Once your character appears on Azeroth, World of Warcraft's imaginary universe, you're free to move around, explore the land or talk to other players, making use of the game's extensive social component.
Your main goal in World of Warcraft is to raise your character from level 1 up to level 70, earning experience points by killing monsters and doing quests which may range from gathering a few flowers to killing a fearsome dragon hidden in its den.
The higher the level, the better the game objects (weapons, armor, spells, etc. ) you can use. Eventually you'll be able to buy the most expensive items in World of Warcraft, like a flying mount, and enter the most dangerous raids, some of which can only be successfully finished with a very well organized team of 40 players.

If you don't like the levelling race, you can also enjoy other ways of playing World of Warcraft: engage in capture-the-flag competitions between Alliance and Horde in the so called Battlegrounds, earn World of Warcraft money by selling game objects in the Auction House or achieve the Artisan level in whichever profession you choose for your character, like skinning, herbalism, cooking or jewelcrafting.

As for graphics, World of Warcraft displays extraordinary landscapes ranging from the snow-covered slopes of Dun Morogh to the jungle-like lands of Strangleton Vale or the desert plains of Tanaris. The atmosphere is enriched by natural sounds and excellent background music.

In short, World of Warcraft is a great adventure which can be played in many different ways.

Download World of Warcraft 3.0.3.9653 in Softonic

VoipBuster 3.00

After setting it up, dialling the number you want to call and hearing the ring tone sound on the other end of the line, you still have a sneaking suspicion that VoIPBuster will suddenly crash or produce a pop-up mocking you for being naïve enough to expect free calls. But suddenly you hear a click on the other end and the moment of truth has arrived; “Eh, Hi…can you hear me?...you can…wow…it works!”, and so continues your conversation as you eye the figures telling you how much credit remains. It seems too good to be true and naturally you expect the numbers to go down, proving the fact of life that there is no free lunch, but they remain where they began – score!

Most people reading this will be familiar with Skype, the most popular VoIP solution today. VoIPBuster is a stripped-down version of Skype with one essential difference – it’s cheaper. You may be wondering just how minimal is “stripped down”? There are no conference calls, video conversations, chat sessions and customer service is not all that, but for a price of free, many are willing to settle with what is on offer.

The program is basic, with tabs for your contact list, call history, buttons to dial and details of your current call. During a call the program takes control of your recording volume and while this feature is potentially very useful, it tended to gradually get lower and lower to a point beyond being comfortable. Setting the volume manually will work for a while but VoIPBuster showed real determination by pushing it down again. As recommended, the best way to secure a quality line is to use a headset. This point was driven home when we gave the external speakers a go and suddenly went from regular telephone quality to a crackly, echoing kind of static noise!

VoIPBuster is owned by a Swedish telecom company and although they circulate multiple versions of software similar to VoIPBuster, it doesn’t subtract from the fact that if you make regular calls to fixed numbers it will save you a considerable amount on those costs. To get started with unlimited free calls you must subscribe and charge your account with ten Euros worth of credit. A small price to pay for unlimited free calls, although bear in mind that credit does expire after a period, currently set at 120 days.

Download VoipBuster 3.00 in Softonic
