If there’s something that Shueisha loves more than anything in the world, it’s money. The Japanese manga publisher is always looking for different ways to diversify its franchises, and certainly, if it has to jump on the latest trend to do so, it will do it without hesitation. That’s why it has now announced new board games based on two of its most beloved franchises: Death Note and My Hero Academia.

Note from the dice

Death Note will be a game similar to the well-known Werewolf game, in which up to seven players can be part of the investigation team of the Kira case. During their turn, players will draw investigation cards to try to obtain as much information as possible, but the twist comes when they find out that some members are also agents of Kira, so they can kill another team member at the end of the turn. If you have played Werewolf, you already know the general rules of the game, because it is basically the same.

However, My Hero Academia: Your Best Memory will be much more obvious: it will be a set with 240 cards that will have scenes from the manga, and in which players will compete to collect the cards of their favorite characters to make their perfect album for a high school yearbook. Both games will be released in the last months of 2024 and will accompany other licenses such as Bleach, One Piece, or Jujutsu Kaisen, whose board games have already been released some time ago.
