The ‘Brothers in Arms’ mod for The Witcher 3 has received a significant update, restoring a new storyline related to Shani’s fate during the Hearts of Stone expansion.
This modification, available on Nexus Mods, includes an optional ending that enhances the narrative and provides more depth to the character of Shani, explaining her return in this expansion.
According to the restored content, Shani’s fate was in danger if the player chose to confront the villain Gaunter O’Dimm. The recovered scenes include dialogues that had been preserved in the game’s files, suggesting that the storyline was cut at an advanced stage of development.
A mod worth installing if you like The Witcher 3
All the restored material is meticulously integrated into the game and maintains the original quality, with animations and lip-syncing that meet the standards of CD Projekt Red’s masterpiece.
Players can now customize their experience and decide which mod elements they want to activate, thanks to an extensive in-game menu. This flexibility allows each player to adjust their experience according to their preferences without compromising the integrity of the original game.
Despite the benefits that the addition of this argument brings, some critics believe that the ending, where the character Gaunter O’Dimm threatens Shani’s life, may seem a bit abrupt and unconvincing compared to the already established narrative.
However, the mod offers the option to choose, allowing players to decide whether they want to experience this new narrative or keep the game as it was originally released.
It is recommended that those using other mods utilize Script Merger to avoid conflicts and ensure a smooth gaming experience.
