A new mod called ‘Early Access Scenes Restored’ has made it possible to restore more than 100 conversations and over 1000 lines of dialogue that were removed in the final version of Baldur’s Gate 3. The mod, developed by HyperspaceTowel, focuses on reintroducing narrative content that adds additional layers to character interactions, particularly dialogues from Astarion, Shadowheart, Gale, and Lae’zel.
A game that never gets old
Baldur’s Gate 3 players will notice that the mod also addresses the lack of reactivity among companions, restoring interactions that would have enriched the gaming experience. However, it is important to note that the dialogue of Karlach and Wyll is more limited due to changes in the voice actors since the early access stage of the game. Although some of the dialogue for these characters has been restored, players may not experience the same level of content as with the other companions.
Despite its success, the mod has some drawbacks. It has been reported that it can cause issues with the appearance of Gale’s beard, a drawback that can be fixed with an additional mod that corrects this aesthetic problem. To fully enjoy the restored scenes, players are advised to install the mod before starting a new game and to avoid uninstalling it during gameplay, as many of the restored dialogues and events occur at the beginning of the adventure.
HyperspaceTowel has expressed its intention to continue working on the mod to restore more deleted scenes, including a popular one involving the thralls in the game’s tutorial. This commitment to reviving lost content allows players to relive experiences that were thought to be irretrievably lost in the final release of the game.
