A young man from Edinburgh buys an Xbox 360 for five pounds and discovers over 100 gigabytes of unreleased content from GTAIV

A young man from Edinburgh, identified as Jan, made an unusual discovery at a local flea market when he purchased an Xbox 360 for only five pounds. What initially seemed like an ordinary find turned exceptional when, upon opening the console, he discovered a Rockstar development kit, which contained a deleted version of Grand Theft Auto IV. This find included 118 GB of files with unreleased content, including cutscenes, concept art, and even remnants of a zombie mode that never saw the light of day due to development issues.

Jan recounted that upon closer inspection of the console, he noticed a blue sticker with the words “Rockstar North Ltd,” which piqued his curiosity. “I wasn’t sure what it was, but I knew it was something good,” he commented in a chat with the site Kotaku. The authenticity of the contents was confirmed by Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar employee, who provided context about the design decisions and the reasons behind the removal of certain elements from the game, such as the ferries, which had collision issues.

Despite the magnitude of the discovery, the leak has not generated controversy; instead, it has sparked renewed interest in the development process of GTA IV among fans. Interestingly, Jan, who was not a big follower of the saga before, has expressed his intention to explore more about Grand Theft Auto before the release of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.

On the other hand, the young man plans to resell the console and has already received offers exceeding 800 dollars, despite its condition. Undoubtedly, this experience is a dream come true for fans of the saga, who have been trying for years to unravel the secrets of the deleted content and beta versions of this iconic game.
