“Good Omens” is one of those series that, despite not being at the top of annual conversations, performs very well for its platform, in this case, Amazon Prime Video. This year, the second season surprised with very positive reviews and decent viewership, so it was only a matter of time before a third batch of episodes was announced.
It’s no wonder. The first season adapted the eponymous book written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett together before the latter’s death. The second season is a completely original story by Gaiman that uses the universe they both created to expand upon the first story. But will there be a third season? And what would happen in it if there is one?

Has “Good Omens” been renewed for a third season?
Through The Wrap, Neil Gaiman has responded to these questions and what will happen with the series, although the author has been quite brief in his answers. When asked, “Now that the strikes are over, are you going to start writing the third season of Good Omens?” his response was simply “Yes,” which gives us hope.
But that’s not all. He was also asked the following: “Has ‘Good Omens’ been renewed for a third season?” and here, everything is not so clear-cut: “No, but I have been hired to write the script.” In other words, Amazon Prime Video may be waiting to find out the plot of the third set of episodes before renewing or canceling the series… although we hope they opt for the former.

Indeed, Neil Gaiman’s relationship with television fiction has been thriving in recent years. Amazon Prime Video developed the series “American Gods,” based on the original book, which had three seasons with a total of 26 episodes. Additionally, on Netflix, he managed to secure a renewal for a second season of “Sandman,” based on his most prestigious comic. So, everything seems to indicate that there will be more “Good Omens” in the near future.
