Amazon wants to make fans cry and abruptly cancels one of the most anticipated science fiction series of the decade

We had been waiting 8 years for one more episode of the Stargate saga after the end of Stargate Origins, and everyone assumed that this new blood would come from the new series from Amazon Prime Video that had been in development for months… until, in a turn of events, the platform has decided to cancel it outright and without any consideration. Goodbye to the star journey.
They Knock on the Door Again
Martin Gero, who was one of the writers of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis, was in charge of bringing the series to a successful conclusion… until Amazon executives, concerned that the series might not reach a wider audience than the existing one, a very dedicated but niche fan base, decided that this was it. Of course, this has not been well received by all those who were waiting for it, who claim, not without reason, that much worse and more niche things are approved every day.
Apparently, this is not the end of the franchise, because Amazon continues to explore new ways to continue with Stargate in some way. Moreover: Gero will continue developing projects for the giant, although, I suppose, it will be impossible to shake off the feeling that it could have been something very special.
No one knows, at least for now, what this new series of the saga would be about, but if I had to bet, I would say we will find out sooner or later. As was to be expected, fans are already launching online campaigns to bring the project back but, at this point, it doesn’t seem like they will get anywhere. The door has closed again, and we will see if it’s for good.
