The 2023 Oscar Awards celebration has come to an end this year, but it has left us with several moments to remember. One of them came as actress Jamie Lee Curtis won the award for Best Supporting Actress for Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The legendary actress had fierce competition this year: none other than Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Hong Chau (The Whale). Among them, Angela Bassett had been positioned as one of the favorites to win in that category, but in the end it was not to be.

Despite Jamie Lee Curtis being the winner of her category, Basset has managed to go viral on networks due to her “expressive” reaction in the moment.

Of course, the actress’ anger could be felt through the screen and did not go unnoticed by the millions of viewers who were watching the Oscars at the time. While some thought it was a funny moment, others felt it was disrespectful to Jamie Lee Curtis.

Everything Everywhere All at Once sweeps the Oscars

With the victory of Jamie Lee Curtis, the film directed by the Daniels has managed to accumulate no less than 7 Oscars this year. Some of the most important categories where they have managed to triumph have been Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Picture, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh) and Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan).
