The holiday season is approaching, and with it, the increase in the purchase of technological gifts. In this context, Apple has announced its traditional extension in the return policy for this year’s holiday purchases, significantly easing the management of our gifts. If we are considering buying an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or any accessories from the company to gift during these festivities, it is important that we are aware of the new deadlines set by Apple.

More days to make returns or exchanges

From November 3rd until December 25th, 2023, Apple will allow most products purchased during this period to be returned until January 8th, 2024. This policy applies in a wide range of countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Singapore. It provides us with a considerable timeframe when we are looking for the perfect gift but still want the reassurance that the recipient can make a return or exchange if necessary.

Apple has been even more generous with buyers in Italy, Spain, Turkey, Mexico, and Japan, extending the shopping period to include purchases made until January 6th, 2024, and providing a return deadline until January 20th of the same year. This additional flexibility acknowledges different traditions and holidays, such as the celebration of the Three Kings Day, which is especially relevant in Spain and these countries.

Please note that after December 25th or January 5th, purchases made will be subject again to Apple’s standard 14-day return policy. Something to consider—while we ponder whether these will be the first Christmas when we can buy a PS5—before waiting until the last moment for our holiday shopping.

With these changes, Apple greatly facilitates something that is already a natural trend during the holidays: gifting an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to our loved ones. Now we can do this with the peace of mind that, if a change in color or a full refund is needed, there is ample time to do so and get the best possible gift.
